His email comes up as [email protected]. The guy says he wants to buy a snake from me. I knock off $25 off of the $250 price & pay the shipping (which is something the buyer usually does). A total of $65 off of his purchase. He sends me the Money Order & I cash it. He contacts me three days later to let me know he has found someone else who will sell him the same kind of snake @ half the price. He wants me to throw in an additional snake for free or send him his money back. I told him I do not offer refunds on snakes that are ordered that I can provide. I will send him the animals - throwing in the additional animal for free as long as he agrees not to contact me anymore - especially about any future deals. He then swears, curses, & threatens me repeatedly. I have even offered to give the guy the extra snake free. He just keeps sending me threatening emails. Did I say anywhere in my ad that I would match any other offer - NO!! I'm even trying to work w/ the guy & he is being totally immature.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Any threats should be taken seriously. If you have the e-mails you can report him to the police. As for the deal itself, he committed to buy your snake. You never said you were going to match cheaper prices either with money or another animal. If you want to give him a refund that's up to you although he has no right to demand it.

Guys like this are definitely not worth your time. When you have someone like this to deal with simply send him a money order and write him off.
This is the sort of person who will trash your name just for the fun of it. It's not worth the potential damage to your reputation to get in a pissing match with people of this caliber

I have taken Alvaro's advice & reported him to the Tampa Police. I saved all the threatening emails & the correspondence that led up to that. Now it is a matter of principles!! I am not going to send his money back no matter what. I have alrewady sent him the (one) animal he ordered. Let him trash me all he wants. I'm not intimidated by him or his words. I just want to warn people that he is not a person I would recommend delaing with....good luck & take care

Out of curiosity...what were the terms of the original purchase?
He wanted the best price poss. on an Albino White-sided Black Ratsnake. I had two left and have been selling them @ $250/ea. I told him I would sell him my nicest "holdback" female for $225 or the other one I had left for $200. Both prices include shipping which is not something I usually do. He agreed, sent me the money, I received the M.O. and cashed it. Two days later he writes me saying that he has found a person willing to sell him two @ that price and wants me to throw in a "Het." male or send him the money back. I explained that that was a crappy way to do business & I didn't appreciate being given an ultimatum but I would sleep on it. I was ready to ship today & wanted to know if he would be happy w/ a Het. male & the other Alb. Licorice and he replied w/ curses demanding that I refund his money. I was trying to work w/ the guy & then he starts threatening me & my wife repeatedly!! I explained that I am not going to refund his money on an animal that he ordered that I CAN provide to him. If the animal died or something it might be a different story. Threats & more threats. So I sent him his snake that he ordered & reported him to the proper authorities.

Get used to it Mike !! I know you just recently been dealing online. Ive been doing it for over 8 years. Now you know why I charge to advertise !! LOL !! You get these yahoo's all the time. A few years ago I had someone email me stating that my price on a reptile was too high. I checked all ads on that day to the same item I was selling. I was, at or lower, than all of them. I replied back that he must deal in junk if he can find them so much cheaper. Then the barrage of insults and threats started. He threatened to "get" me at the Orlando show in "99". Im not much to take threats lightly and being a west side redneck at heart anyway, I told him EXACTLY where Id be at and time. Guess what, no show on his part. I know some of you are going to say that was stupid and it was. God knows if they woould been carrying a gun. But hey I learned.
Then out of the blue someone emails me stating that I didnt have Albino Ball Pythons for sale and I was pulling a scam. Learning my lesson from '99' I (very nicely actually) stated he could come see them at the All Ohio show that month. He then states that he's going to take care of me once and for all. I reported all emails to the Franklin County Sheriff dept. Then being my brother is on the Columbus Police force and having friends there (Im sure you see me talking to them all the time at the show). I had one come to the show undercover just in case. Again nothing happened.
I can go on and on about bad customers. I can go on and on about all the BS emails I get. Its the second biggest down side about selling on the internet (being ripped off is the first). Frankly, I would of just sent him his cash back and blocked his email address. I would then do what you just did and posted it here to warn others. Good luck and welcome to the net !

there is already going to be drama! as in when the police knock on your door for threatening mike and his wife. there is a right way to do things and a wrong way,and you my buddy are definately going about this the wrong way. first off take a step back, take a deep breath, relax and calmly explain your side of the story. the way we hear it was that you beat down mikes price. and after you had already agreed to the deal and sent off your money you contact mike saying that you found the animal(s)
cheaper . to me that looks like you attempting to beat the price down further. i may be wrong but with only 1 side of the story to judge by ,that is all that i am getting out of this. so before you come across any worse realx and tell the forum your side of this and maybe we could help moderate a faverable solution to this problem for everyone.
