In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

"mike" BD ad on Kingsnake.com

This is Mike

This guy is the ONLY one who bought a dragon and has complained. These dragons are EXACTLY what was posted on line. Look at the picture he posted for god sakes. You honestly think thats a "normal gray dragon" I sent this guy about 4 different pictures of the dragon before we shipped it. There is a reason why it is only $75 and not $300 but he doesn't seem to understand that. Also, why should I pay for him to ship it back to me? The buyer pays shipping cost, which is designated in the ad. If you read the email responses, I also did not say "I'd let the dragon die". I said I would refuse to accept the shipment if it were for more than $75 and the dragon would most likely die on its return trip back to him and then he would be out of options. I don't know why this guy thinks I'm a middle man either. I have 3 dragons and this was just a little pet project that we did. This man alone makes me never want to do this again. I have numerous emails thanking me for such nice healthy dragons. I had offered him a refund of his money immediately. Is it my fault that the dragons were sold so CHEAP that it doesn't really pay for you to send it back?? I'm sorry I gave you such a great deal. If you went to pet store and bought a real "normal dragon" it would still cost you $100 so for you to have the audacity to complain is beyond comprehension. The pictures were not "touched up" either. I tried to attach a pic of the father(Homer) which I obtained directly from Dragons Den (Kevin). The mother I sold a little while back and no longer have. Am I in the wrong here?

First thing, you are required to post your full name on any posts on the BOI or you risk the moderators deleting your posts.

Do you have a copy of the original ad that Chris purchased the Dragon from? That is really what will determine if you are in the wrong here.

I don't have a copy of the ad. It was a while ago at this point. Regardless of anythign else, Do you think I should pay for him to ship it back to me. I have no problem giving him a refund as you can see, I just don't think it is fair that I should lose money on this. Do you know what I mean?

I may have them but I do not know which photos I sent him because they are no longer in my sent mail folder.

Mike

My suggestion would be a compromise. It obviously make no economic sense for him to go the expense of shipping it back. In the rare instances where I have had this situation arise, I find that a partial refund is usually the best way to settle the problem. I think Chris's expectations on the animal were unreasonably high given the price. You have offerred a prompt refund which indicates to me that you want to resolve this. Get with Chris and come up with a reasonable number and settle. $25 seems like a reasonable figure to me. That way, he gets a subadult dragon for $50 and you eliminate a problem. I find this solution even more reasonable now that we know you sent him pics of the specific animal he purchased.

Just my .02

Ok thanks for the advice. I'm glad you atleast agree with me that his expectations were unreasonable considering what he was paying. I really try and be upfront and honest with anyone who emails me. I send as many pics as they ask for along with pictures of the parents just to avoid situations like this. I'm not a 100% but I believe I sent him numerous pics of both the dragon and others and he selected this dragon out of the bunch.

You need to add your last name to your profile. Without it, your posts will be deleted. They are very specific about this rule on the BOI

I tried but I can't seem to find the area to do that. You can't edit your "additional info" under your user options

I just want to say, $75 is not a cheap dragon. I got this dragon for 75+ ship and she was yellow and turned into a nice red/orange.
fengface2uc.jpg

what you sold him is not a $75 dragon, it is a $25 dragon and you knew it. What pics did you send him in your emails? do either of you have them?

Once again, Whatever emails I sent him a month ago I no longer have since they are automatically deleted in my sent mail folder. I don't know if he has them. Additionally he saw numerous pics of the dragons. The pics were of the EXACT dragon he got. You ever think that perhaps his lighting or heating is off and that is why the dragon is not "firing up"

1. your posts are going to be deleted unless you post your full name.
2. it's obvious from his pics that he has no light or heat.*sarcasim* Is it correct? no idea, but as they seller you should have gone over husbandry with him the second the said he was having problems.

Hey I call BS. I was never sent any pics of the dragon. infact if you read the emails it says the dragon he sent me may even be the one in the pic. thats because there are no other pics. I was told he was a third party by another breeder who says he owes her money too (I know thats hear say) but he is from CA the dragon was shipped from NJ. I was told by her that he sales dragons for someone else but thats not the issue! The issue is not even to argue with this guy, its just that I ordered A sunburst dragon, was told I was getting one, was showed pics of one, and what did I get? A nice health common. He knew this was a common. How much I payed or how much he charged is irrelevant. I don't have the 300 to buy a dragon so I was just looking for a deal. Some times you find one, you know. obviously not this time. I don't know why its even got to be like this. All I have to say is be careful who you buy from. Great forum by the way, I know where I'll be looking before I buy now.

As far as for care they have a powersun bulb. are kept in a closed reptile room. they are given calcium with d3. checked by the local herp vet here. and all of my reptiles have outdoor enclosures in my fenced in yard. the temps are monitored remotly and with a laser thermometer. so if there is anything else let me know I'll do it too. They are feed crix, superworms, pinkies, organic home grown greens

First off, I have NO IDEA what this guy is talking about in terms of oweing anyone else money especially in California. You and your california friend may have me confused with someone else. I have not sold anything to anyone in california EVER. I am NOT a middle man and I DO live in NJ you lunatic.

Second, That picture is 100% real. I don't have time nor the skill to touch up photographs. Those nails are dark nails.

3rd and most important. Whose opinion do I value more. Sara, some 20 year old girl from Pennsylvania or Mr Schmitt the well known and respected owner of Suncoast Herps.

4th I don't know where you buy your dragons, but I have never seen any single dragon on sale anywhere for $25. Go into any petstore and every beardie will cost between $75-$100 regardless of color.

5th, If you really think it is a 100% normal dragon, go get a DNA test done and compare it with a normal beardie and I guarantee the results. I have 1 male dragon and he is pictured.

wow, tru colors flying high and proud. a mr miller shipped me the dragon from NJ. Im sure everyone here appreciates the name calling and objective additude towards the opinions of others because of age. good job

Does this mean you're going to offer to give Chris $25.00 as a settlement, per John's suggestion? The picture of his dragon is no where near as nice as the others. If I expected a bright yellow BD and rec'd the one he got I would be disapointed also.
