In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Info Mike @ Outback Reptiles

moderator bob is just sad :(

No, he's not. He's providing reminders of posts that have been made by Mike. This thread is about Mike, and peoples' experiences with him, so Robert was within his right to post relevant comments.

The things people say on a forum, tell a lot about those individuals' character. I wouldn't want to be subjected to some of those derogatory and abrasive comments, if I had a problem with a transaction, and Mike didn't agree with my complaint.

That said, Mike has good reviews too, and I would probably buy from him if he had something I wanted.

I think this last batch of interactions with Mike has turned the corner for me and I do not think I would purchase from him for now. He is pretty young and perhaps age and experience will change him and teach him not to treat people flippantly when their issues with him are genuine.
He seems to feel he can mock others at will, but when he was mocked for trying to fix a bad transaction with a pizza, he according to his own words has never gotten over the alleged damage wrought by his critics. He doesn't seem to be able to think through that lesson and realize that those he treats badly may feel just as upset as he did by the pizza debacle.

ive done biz with outback years ago zero problems wouldn't hesitate recommending them.

Sad?... Or does posting something accurate, hurt your feelings. I've never dealt with Mike or Outback. Language being used, may be overlooked by some customers, but can bite you in the arse with others. I realize refraining can be difficult at times; but with social media,it spreads quickly.

So are you saying that the quotes that Robert posted are untrue or inaccurate? How does WHEN they were posted make any difference? Does it diminish their truthfulness or accuracy in any way? What makes them inappropriate now compared to being posted a week, or month ago?

So are you claiming that this thread should now be locked because Mike isn't likely to have access to the BOI any longer? If so, should this not apply to EVERY thread in this forum as well?

What are you saying exactly?

I can count the people I hold in highest regard on one hand. Mr. Walker is represents my middle finger, to guys with many wounds here. Webslave, Robert, Nicholas and a few patrons here (BTR, KJ, etc.) should be recognized as an incredibly positive and useful force in the reptile community. I am proud to have been a part of it. My suspensions, one for a year and well deserved, warnings, negative karma? Whatever. I can afford to appreciate this site. Why? Clean slate!

Oh, good grief! Lucille, why the heck would you resurrect a freaking 2-year old thread? Yeah, anyone who has been here as long as we old-timers knows the BS between you and Mike at Outback, but I really thought you were one of the few who might actually act like a freaking adult and move on. Looks like more childish FB crap at this point.

Yeah, Mike and Outback have made mistakes; please, Lucille, give me a big name herp biz that has NOT ever made mistakes; yeah the pizza thing was stupid. Get over it. Outback has generally done good business over the years. When was the last time you did business with them, or have you ever?

I agree Mike's posts were WAY out of line and totally unprofessional, however it should only reflect on him as a lame, unprofessional representative and NOT the company.

And to be clear, I do not give a rat's behind about Mike; my post was NOT a defense of his horrible, idiotic posts that Robert acknowledged and linked.

Mr. Davis has had an infatuation with me since the Ty Park thread. His ability to: gloss over this thread's actual timeline, remain completely silent on the quotes presented, lob conjecture and solely focus on me illustrates this point yet again.
I'm flattered.

Get over it.
Laura you seem to have in mind the exact number of times that someone is permitted to express their opinion, and when it comes to Mike you seem oddly overprotective. I suggest that you get over that, because trying to control such expression by insulting people with personal attacks is in itself harmful to the BOI.

When was the last time you did business with them

I can't believe I am hearing this from you. The BOI is founded upon peer opinion, one need not to have done business to express thoughts about a person or company. Usually it is the Bad Guys that come up with that, I'm surprised at you, Laura.

Yeah, Mike and Outback have made mistakes; please, Lucille, give me a big name herp biz that has NOT ever made mistakes

So what exactly are you saying? That simply because others have made mistakes too, that we should hush up and not bring up any made by Mike?

Initially I did not understand this comment. While it is true that I have only recently ventured into any kind of significant fb time, mostly because of an impending cross country move by one of my children, I did not think that would bring such a reaction. So I went looking around and found what I believe Laura may have been referring to.

Apparently Mike showed up at a FB group and posted a request for reviews of Outback. Not only was it pointed out by a group admin that this group felt that the request was an impermissible sales technique, but also Mike apparently made a rude comment to someone who did post a review, but it was a Bad Guy review of Outback.

What are you saying exactly?

1.not saying anything that bob post is untrue or inaccurate.
2.I feel its sad to taunt mike prior then the day after post to get that last word in and from a moderator no less.
3.no , I feel it inappropriate to post such dribble the day after, its his right just like its mine to say so.
4.ive never claimed this or any thread should be locked.
5.i feel anyone or business that rep. is being attacked should have the opportunity to defend themselves and mike does just has to become a contributor I get that taking jabs and knowing :ack2: well it is what it is.
6.alot of questions hopefully ive explained my post.

wow. well since you brought it up you showed your true colors in that thread, come to think of in this one to:rolleyes:

These recent post are the reason I feel the BOI might have lost its usefulness and will most likely go the way of the dodo bird at this point. I for one love this site and became a contributing member once I heard it was in trouble because the BOI has been a great tool in the past. Unfortunately it seems people can't have different opinions on here anymore without someone questioning their motives. I have done business with Outback reptiles in the past (Ian mostly) and have never had any issues.

I will say that I agree that the quoted posts by Mike were unprofessional. However, I've done business with several of the guys at Outback multiple times over the years, Mike included, and every transaction was good. The one time I did have an issue with an animal I bought from them, Mike handled it very well and resolved it quickly.

Unfortunately it seems people can't have different opinions on here anymore without someone questioning their motives.

Part of the BOI is the questioning back and forth, that is the crucible from which truth emerges. Not everyone's motive for all they do is pure, but sometimes it is, and generally after some back and forth readers can make up their own mind.

I have done business with Outback for a few snakes and Mike in particular for some caging he built for me. One glitch with the caging was very quickly solved to my satisfaction. The snakes have all been as described with health and temperament. I have no complaints. The guys that work with him at Iutback have also been easy to talk with and helpful.
