In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Mike Powell Of Virgina Sells Bad Animals

If the animal is placed in a plastic tub for 2-3 hours in water containing 10 drops per gallon of the product there is no need at all to remove the shed with a towel. The old skin will peel by itself and you will find it floating in the water.

Exactly right. Actually, you don't even need to use the "Shed Ease" in my opinion. Just regular plain ole water works just fine.

Justin, here is our vet's info. He is an excellent herp vet. Good luck.

Folks,
If you put an emerald in a tub of water, which I think Justin has tried, it will absolutely go ballistic, as i believe he mentioned.

but having it bash it's head and roll relentlessly for 1 hour when I tried soaking the 1st time was a bit unnerving, especially when I find it belly up head underwater and disoriented from exhaustion and canines sticking through his lip binding his mouth together, stress like that will kill them in minutes.

Hmm, how about a smaller container (large deli cup?), one that the animal will fit in but not large enough for it to go ballistic? Just a suggestion.

Hi Kelli,
It isn't the container, it's the water. Emeralds don't like to be immersed in water and in order to effectively soak, the water would have to be deep enough for the snake to be immersed. An animal that spends more than 90% of it's life in trees generally doesn't experience "swimming" so they freak. If Justin is interested in what I suggested he can PM me and I'll explain in detail, but as has been mention, this thread is about a bad seller.

Yeah, just seems to me like desperate times call for desperate measures. I've never kept emeralds, but have kept lots of chondros. I've soaked them before but maybe emeralds are completely different. I know exactly what this thread is about, however Justin DID ask me if I had any suggestions, and I was trying to help.
