• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Mike the Screamer "Strictly Reptiles"

Both sides of this discussion are certainly entitled to their opinions. However, if you still can't understand what I'm saying in defense of OP's inane thread, then in my opinion you either have no idea how wholesale (on that level) works or you just enjoy arguing.

Oops- meant to say "in opposition to", or something like that.

And another thing... I'd been registered here at Fauna for many, many years, but never really posted here. Years passed, and a while back I tried to log in and my password didn't work. I had to contact the administrator to have my password reset. I recall simply asking a question as to why it happened, and although my memory doesn't serve me and I didn't save the messages (why would I?), I do recall the admin I dealt with here being VERY "short" with me (some might say "rude", even). When I inquired why they were so reactionary to something I'd said or asked, their attitude was "take it or leave it", much like the business in the OP of this thread. I didn't open a BOI thread over it, or go whine on other forums about it- I just figured, damn, that guy must have a lot on his plate! And I moved on. See how that works?

I have found the thread useful. I know that if I order from them (which is inevitable since my choices and quantity requiDrrements severely limit suppliers to choose from) to order approx. 2 x what I normally would have in the hopes of finding a few worthy to be "keepers" for my own collection and to prepare myself for a potentially abrasive ordering interaction - something I'm not used to as our shop deals primarily with something else not live-animal related. And that should the interaction be less than ideal to not take it personally. These are very useful bits of information that do help going into the ordering process.

Mike the screamer

I am wondering if Mike would like to be spoken to or possibly his wife if the shoe was on the other foot while they were out looking to make a purchase.

Personally, any service oriented business where repeat orders are the essence of good business ethics are not present basically waves a red flag.

Its just a question of time (and not in your favor) to move on. Mike is a walking timebomb. If you stop and think that he treats the closest people to himself , namely his employees like garbage, your just one step below that criteria with the difference being that instead of paying out, he is receiving funds for the 4 star " ill do you a favor and sell it to you" attitude.

What more could anyone ask for ! The VanNostrands would make a great reality show. Can you imagine his homelife !!

Very simple solution, if you don't like him or how he operates don't go there. For some people a guy like this isn't an issue and they will go there. Complain with your dollar bills not your voice unless something bad with the reptiles like others have stated.

Known Mike and his family for 25 years. In that time Ive done more business with them than anyone else. Absolutely straightforward, no bs dealings and one of the more trustworthy people in the industry. Over the years when I have hit hard times he has helped me out. When times were tough for them I did so in return. How he treats his employees? Im sorry but he has LONG TIME employees so I think that speaks for itself. Sure he can be abrasive at times but that could be said of almost all of us. I dont know about the rest of you but I'd much rather deal with someone who is abrasive and straightforward than someone who puts on a fraudulent show of "niceness" just to get your money.

Lets Move On

Ron has stated it the best of all of us. This thread seems to be kept alive by someone who has terrible feedback on this site. If you want to shop at Strictly, go for it. If their entertaining behavior bothers you, shop somewhere else. Really simple.

Exactly. This thread gives readers enough info to help them decide whether he is their cup of tea, or not, and it has value because of that.

Like Ron St Pierre I have done business with Strictly Reptiles for 25 years+ (I'm the former owner of The Gourmet Rodent). The relationship between Strictly and Gourmet Rodent was excellent. I primarily dealt with Mike, but occasionally dealt with Ray. Both were courteous, fair minded and willing to help. Through the course of millions of dollars of transactions I can honestly say that we never had a disagreement. I clearly have a different view of Strictly Reptiles than the original poster.
Thanks
