In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

 I purchased a pair of Collard lizards from Mike Webb Tuesday April 17th. I bought a pair last year from him without any problems and was excited to see he had some more available. Until I paid him he was very responsive to my emails. After I sent payment Tuesday, I sent him an email asking when he would ship, and if he could ship that day since I paid him early morning. Late Wednesday afternoon I received an email saying he was shiping thursday for Friday 10:30 am arrival. I took the morning off work. Waited till 12:30 Friday morning, and called him. His response, He shipped them Friday morning for early am Saturday delivery. He hadn't asked me if this was okay, I had already planned to go to the reptile show. I asked him for a tracking number, and he said he was on his way home and would email it to me when he got back. I sent him many emails since that time with no response. I have left a couple messages on his cell phone and filed a paypal dispute. Still nothing. I really wanted my collard lizards. Such a shame. Stay clear of this guy.
Thanks

Mike just responded to my email right after I posted this. I'm going to see if the collards have arrived, this morning. I will post an update shortly.

Thanks

So let me see if I've got this straight. He shipped Friday without asking. You may, or may not, have gone to the show but in any case you could have had someone available to take them at the door on Saturday.
They didn't arrive so you went to work on Monday and now they may be sitting on your doorstep until you get home.
I don't care if he did email you his lack of communication is enough for me to steer clear of him.

I have seen many of his adds for turtles and lizards in the past advertising second day delievery. To me second day for any live animal shipment is out of the question unless it is an import/export and it is unavoidable. Check the box to make sure he didn't charge you for overnite and sent it second day.

He was supposed to ship next day 10:30 am arrival. The collards showed up today, they sat in a box all weekend. No heat pack, nothing. They are so sickly and skinny. The male has a visable bone showing in his tail. I don't think they will make it, but they are going to the vet tonight. I will certainly never buy from him again. Poor lizards, it breaks my heart.

Yeap, Mike Webb from Texas. I purchased from him last year and had a positive transaction, and I received healthy animals from him. This time however, a completely different experience.

earthdragon have you told him about this thread? He hasn't been active on this site for several years.

He is aware of the thread. I have also sent him another email about the condition of the collard lizards. At least they finally showed up. They don't look like they have been fed for quite some time, hopefully my vet can help. This entire experience has been very stressful. Did i mention the lizards arrived in a dirty cricket box?

Oh, that Mike Webb. He stiffed us on a couple of tables at our show.
He will never vend at our shows again.

I just wanted to share my experience with others. All I care about now is saving these lizards if possible.

keep us posted Jenn and the best of Luck. They are great little lizards and the ones I had were pretty hardy so hopefully all goes well.

Gopher Holes!

Talk about rape.........Mike's middle name is Gopher Hole.......He can suck more Wildlife from Texas thru a straw in his nose, than an army of Holiday Herpers form Jersy looking for Leps......Hey Randal Berry......When you used the term "Stiffed you" were you referring to being Paid with Dead Snakes or Lizards? HaHa...

Here is an update. The female has passed away this morning. I toook them to the vet after hours last night. The vet didn't think the male would make it either, but I did get him to eat two crickets. I will post pictures of the male later today. I hope nobody buys from this guy again. I'm thinking of filing a dispute with my bank.

Thanks

Jenn, very sorry to hear about your loss. It stinks. I have said it before, but people who dont care about the well being of the animals first and foremost do not belong in this business!!!! Go sell cars(no offense to car sales people at all by the way) or something that isnt living. There are too many people who would rather starve an animal to flip an extra buck, or ship with poor methods to save a few as well. I hope the male hangs in there and that you have better luck in the future. It sucks how many people are willing to do things like this. I have no patience for people that make money at the expense of living breathing things. It isnt about the money to those of us that care, but about the value of a life. Have a great week, Dan M.

Reptiles should really never be shipped on a wed, thursday or friday.
If there is a problem, it can result in non delivery until monday.

Tracking should ALWAYS be sent when animal is shipped so that the receiver can see exactly where it is.

I agree, except that I don't see a problem with shipping overnight on Wednesday for Thursday arrival. Airport-to-airport is a different story. Those limitations apply to common carriers such as FedEx.

Wed is probably OK but when something like a freak tornado closes off a highway or airport or something the delay can be longer than a day - I just personally think it is better to distance yourself from the coming weekend as much as possible.

IMHO all domestic reptile shipping should be overnight. The cost difference between overnight and second day is not enough to justify extra risk to life of even a $5.00 herp.

Mike contacted me yesterday saying he will send a replacement. I don't know when or if this is true. The male seems to be hanging in there. He is full of parasites, and is on Panacur. He is too weak to eat by himself so I hand feed him daily. I feel like he will make it. As far as shipping goes, I ship Mon-Wed overnight. I have never shipped on a Friday and never will. I always ask my customer their temps. These poor lizards sat in a box all weekend in 50 degree weather will no heatpack. they where not in containers, just loose in the box. I really think people who do this kind of thing have no compassion. I hope others read this and do not buy from this guy.

Thanks

I just wanted to give an update about this situation. Mike has sent me a replacement pair plus one extra Collard lizard. These all where fat and overall healthy looking. He sent me a tracking number and they arrived on time. He made this situation right by me.

Thank You
