Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them.     Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I just bought a milk snake yesterday, brought it home and put it in its cage. Went back this morning and it's gone. I have no idea how it got out, I can't find even one weak spot in the cage. Any ideas on how to find a milk snake that doesn't want to be found? I've looked everywhere a snake might want to be, no luck!
 
Milks, kings and corns are amazing escape artists! What kind of setup do you have? Even the tiniest crack in a lid or a lid that doesn't have proper latches on it can be trouble. I've lost baby baby milks and kings in cages you would swear were escape proof.

My suggestion is check every warm, dark spot in your house. Closests, under/behind the fridge/stove, boxes, drawers, cabinets, etc. Try lining the floors along walls and doors with double sided tape. You can also try leaving feeders in areas where he might hide in the middle of a box on the floor made with the tape. If your snake slithers across the tape, he will get snagged.
 
He was an unexpected purchase, so I had him in a temporary cage until I could get a tank put together. Unfortunatly I didn't get the chance the little sucker didn't even give me a full day. Thanks for the ideas, I'll give them a try and see what happens.

Ben is right, those are the best places to check. But I have learned any type of tape can be dangerous. Yor best bet is to seal off the bottoms of all the doors and line the walls with flour or baby powder. that way you can see where the snake is headed. I have realized that thy like to stay close to the walls. The best time to find them is at night when they are more active.
 
Any luck yet? I had a bull snake lost for 5 days before I found her just chilling next to one of my GTPs cubes. Definitely check in warm spots against the wall. I found another escapee by following her trail of defecation... Check closets, and if you have baseboard heating, check the radiators!
