In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

missed shippment

Thanks David I fell better now.Yes I CLEARLY stated that their must be someone there to sign for it.I told them when it was shipped and gave them the tracking#.

Then I'd say it's on them, and that they should be busting their asses to get with the carrier and try to pick up the package before they close for the evening.

I agree with David. As long as you are certain that the receiving party knew the package was due to arrive that day it is on them, not you.

Agreed, as long as you and the customer agreed on the shipping date (not you saying "hey, I shipped them out today so you'll have them in the morning. btw, someone needs to be there to sign for them"), - if they weren't there to accept, you are in the clear? I hope this is a WHAT IF question...bad enough sitting around wondering if the critters are gonna be ok, vs getting the call that they are all dead due to the customer's negligence

One thing to add though. If I ever found myself, as the shipper, in this circumstance then I would also be doing everything I possible could to track the buyer down and work out a way for the delivery company to get the item there. When the welfare of the animal is at stake I will worry about the fault later. I just had something similar to this happen (UPS fault not Brians) with Brian Hardy and was able to track him down and through the dilligent efforts on his part the animal was found and picked up.

We talked sunday.I told him I could ship Tuesday.Everything was agreed upon before shipment. And payment was received. But now the animals are in Anaheim CA and I cant get hold him.I will probally be stressed out untill I hear from him.

So they have been sitting there since yestaerday I take it? What is in the shippment? I am local to there and would not mind going to get them for you as long as I am able to house what is inside(so depends) that way till you get a hold of the buyer they will be at least out of the box. Up to you let me know but if I can house them they can stay here for a few days. The buyer will have to come and get them from me though and I am in Tustin. Shanell.

Thanks for the offer Shanell.I was really worried. They were 5 lined skinks.I JUST talked to the buyer. He had to drive 36 miles to get them from the post office. But he got them. There was 1 that didn't make the trip.all the others were fine.I just panicked when I couldn't reach him!He was very happy with them so I feel much better now.......THANKS again for your offer..Bobby

Glad he finally got them, sorry to here about the 1 not making it. You said post office? I thought you sent them UPS? Anyway offer is always on the table for anyone who gets stuck(hopefully it will not happen but sometimes it just does). Take care, Shanell.

Yes USPS express overnight. They will take anything that is not a snake, turtle or turtle eggs.I guess 1 out of 100 isn't that bad.but I still hate it that he lost the 1.

Just to let you know, people really frown upon people who ship that way. You just might want to find another company or get certified through FedEx. Even 1 out of 100 isn't right. If you look up all the threads on USPS you will see just how many are still lost in the mail. I personally along with tons of others will not order from people who ship that way. Good luck with your future shipments but this was not just a fluke, if you contine to ship through them you will most always encounter delivery delays and DOA's. Shanell.

Robert, any time I do USPS express I try to do Post office to Post office that way they are in a temp controlled building in case there is an error with delivery.

Glad 99 of the 100 made it!

thanks, I'm trying to get FedEx certified.I have been jumping through hoops for them. Hopefully it wont be long. But if I do use them(USPS).from now on it will be post office to post office only..

It takes a long time to get certified and alot of trouble along the way but let me tell you it is well worth the waite. If I were you I would honestly stay as far away from the post office as possible. I can truly see how this happen. Was your customer awaire that is was comming through the post office? Shanell.

I was lucky with Fed X and happen to get an excellent driver that took care of all of it for me. I set up the account and had a ground package going out and when he came to get it I told him about the live shipping and he called me back the next couple of days and said he would come out to check my packing. He came out and had a 3 way call with me,. the driver and fed x and got it all done fast.

I have heard some had to send boxes to R&D and it took forever to get it but I had no problems here.

I used to use DHL/Airborne and had no problems with their taking the packages but they did have 2 out of 3 late deliveries and once that they called and said, oh we forgot to come and now you are way out of our way so we can't pick it up so I stopped using them.

USPS Express is picked up at the PO and carried by Fed X to the ariport for shipping and is shipped with FedX overnight packages BUT it then goes back to USPS and is delivered buy USPS workers, I think that is where the biggest problem comes in is after it gets to the location and back into postal workers hands.

With Post office to Post office it is picked up at the PO by FedX, carried by FedX, shipped with FedX and taken to the destination PO by Fed X but what happens at the destination PO is another story, with PO to PO shipping, its all done by Fed X other than taking in the package.

yes I gave them the option of shippers and the prices.Allot of times the merchandise cost less than shipping.Ive only dealt with local pet stores until recently.Hopefully FedEx hoops are shorter for me now.
