• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

To all,

I give no quarter and ask for none.

I will not respond again to this thread. I will monitor it.

Mitch

You forgot the line, "I lie when it suits me to."

Anyone wonder why people don't like him?

Yes, mitch, you're a real "man". Got a ruler? I'm sure we'd all like a measurement.

Just an update. I have communicated directly with the Enforcement Division of CA F&W asking them for direction and a remedy. Will provide further updates when available. That's the way a man deals with it Wesley.

I seem to remember Wes stating that he could only see replys in a quote if he has the poster on ignore. I believe he should see this, I for one salute you Mitch...taking the bull by the horns...a lesser person would have waited it out, I hope it works out for you.

richard, Wes, knowing full well that mitchy could NOT help but respond with some quip sometime soon, took mitchy off ignore for a day or two so that Wes would not miss the funny stuff.

Tell me this mitchy, did you call them or did they call you? I know at least one person sent Fish and Game this thread.

To all,

CA F&G came back with my remedy:

1. Remove the ad, which I did
2. Either keep the animals or gift them (right you were Dennis)

Through this thread, I was contacted by a Biology teacher out in Yuma, AZ. What I have decided to do, is gift them (yes Wesley, for free) to her school. I have asked CA F&G if I'm allowed to ship them out of state.

This is what you do Wesley, beat people with your Hammer of Justice. As I mentioned in another thread, the scandals in 2006 like Mark Foley, were people who held themselves out as the Moral Pillars of Society. Unfortunately, they too have skeletons in their closet.

You may fool everyone else Wesley, but not me. As for you Steve, you've been punished enough with your recent loss. Even I have sympathy for a kid who lost his lunch money.

Mitch

By the way, I emailed CA F&G on April 8th. And to the person who forwarded the thread, I applaud you. Report everyone that you can. Occassionally, you'll find someone with criminal intent.

You really are a class act Mitch.

Hopefully, we can now finish this thread. The Rubber Boas along with a pair of Saharans and a pair of Calabars, are being gifted to Yuma High School in AZ in the care of EvaMarie Bybee. Maybe I'll throw in a pair of albino BPs for fun. This is a great way to encourage new keepers. Consider doing the same.

You just can’t help but to be a pompous fool can you? What little respect you may have acquired from a possible few with how you handled this just got lost with this comment. What kills me, is that I truly believe you see nothing wrong with this statement and how it comes across.

By the way, there is nothing great about throwing in any animal that was not ordered or requested. What would make you think a school wanting a couple rubber boas, would want with a couple albino BP’s? Is this really going to the school or just being shipped to the school for someone’s collection?

You know......as much as you can try to pretend you're doing these things with the noblest of intentions, it's plain for everyone else to see that you're actually doing it just to be an ass, because someone got your knickers in a knot.

They're panties Cathy, not knickers...

Talk about a dumb move.

You know Mitch, there were people on here, myself included, who were willing to give you the benefit of the doubt that you made an honest, though ignorant, mistake.

You just threw away whatever charitable attitude anyone would have had towards you.

You can bet that people are going to go out of their way from now on to eyeball every deal you do, every ad you post, every word you say. And the minute you make another stupid mistake, they'll be running to the phone to drop a dime on you.

You just succeeded in alienating everyone, congratulations.

Mitch, I don't know, sending non-feeding snakes that have been difficult to keep may or may not be the best way to encourage new keepers. It may be inappropriate for a high school to deal with. Probably not a good situation for the Calabars either. It's an honest thought. Not just nitpicking you here.

1. Has anyone had success in feeding Calabars?
2. Can anyone provide recent pictures of a feeding Calabar?
3. Did anyone buy a Calabar with the claim of "currently feeding?"

I really enjoy this docile species, but the mortality rates in captivity are extremely high. I'm questioning whether they should be imported at all.

Possibly, if we put our heads together, we can solve this riddle.

Thanks,

Mitch Behm

Dennis,

I thought of that. The Calabars that I sell have been weeded out from all the Calabars that I have. These are infrequent feeders. In addition, for highschoolers that enjoy disecting, tube feeding a Calabar might be interesting. I take your point.

Mitch

Bart,

They are excited about the additions. Pompous, that's a new one. I'll add it to my collection of "useless comments by ignorant herpers." Do you have any others.

Cathy,

You got me, saw right through that one all by tourself. Obviously, you didn't find the humor in that one.

Because it wasn't humorous.

You don't even know your own state's laws regarding herps and you are referring to others as ignorant herpers. Add "moron" to your collection.
