    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

People are trying to emphasize the importance this. Since someone sold you a sick snake and could be selling others sick snakes (especially when that seller claimed inclusions caused them to lose other animals) that seller needs to be called out to prevent others from getting sick animals and spreading the disease. Your collection may be fine but the fact that you lost 1 ball, 2 boas and almost lost another ball in a short amount of time when admitting someone sold you a snake with IBD, is what is worrisome. The amount of animals lost with no necropsy done to determine the cause and not closing down your collection. Is irresponsible. Yes you agreed on modes of transmission but you fail to see the severity of the issue. When people have lost thousands and thousands of dollars worth of animals from having just one animal arrive sick, it's a scary thought. Al of the RI threads and bad husbandry practices being posted about not only in your group but others is scary. You have a chance to be a positive voice in the community and instead you choose to treat this as an annoyance instead of the huge problem it could be. Some of the people who have horrible husbandry skills thank you for the advice they received but in reality it was bad advice. They just don't know any better and don't want to listen. People are trying to get answers on the origin of the original sick animal and the time line of when animals were sold and when animals died and to stress the importance of containing something before it goes further.
 
Mindy...did you or did not not delete everything that I had posted in your group regarding the severity of disease and how collections should be locked down when disease is suspected? Did you call the scientific papers I linked "nothing more than google searches"? Why did I get frustrated? Because you don't seem to understand the severity and what damage can be done when an illness gets into a collection. All of the info was deleted. That was like a slap in the face. Trying to help only to have it brushed off as insignificant.
 
No steve, i did not delete anything regarding the severity. I was taking directly to you about it. Idk where you got the memo. After all this started happening, i deleted any and all threads pertaining to ibd in my groups. AFTER the fact. To end the arguing. I did not disagree on the severity of it. Ever.
 
So if you want a more clear answer, yes I deleted every single post regarding it when it sparked non stop arguments and misconceptions about what i was telling everyone. No i did not delete it because i felt it was insignificant or not true.
 
I aso have yet to be told exactly what my horrible husbandry advice is. My temps, housing sizes, feeding, watering, cleaning, and humidity is all on point from what I have been told. 40-60%, 84-94°, i use newspaper to ensure ease and thoroughness of cleaning and to avoid impactions... i dont see where i am wrong in my husbandry. I dont get scale rots, burns, mites.. i had two RIs which i explained earlier in this thread that over last years winter, the snake room dropped to the upper 60's and it did spark those two snakes with RIs. The other RI happened when i had a snake arrive. It came to me with an RI. And he is now living in Arizona. I sold him five months after his medication routine was completed and he is still doing great, from what I am told.
 
I just got off the phone with the vet.
They suggested asking what other diseases you want my snakes tested for? Go ahead, rack up my unnecessary vet bill some more
The IBD test is $200 alone. But they will find out about a package test if you have any other concerns.
Are we cool with the IBD test alone or is something else out there possibly laying dormant in a collection of Pythons for 15 months?
 
As stated, I deleted it because of the screenshotting and blasting and arguing happening. I deleted everything in an attempt to stop it. Which it didnt. I did not disagree with anything that had been said. So again, stop putting words in my mouth and making false assumptions. Another cool thing about having everything on the internet now is that i have everything screenshot and can take legal action when I please. If you want me to go that route, keep bullying and slandering me.
 
You can't charge someone with libel/slander when it's true.

Odd. You seem to feel that an entirely different set of people have misconceptions about what you are telling us here. EVERYONE everywhere is having misconceptions?

I'm thinking your delete finger is twitching uncontrollably right about now, because you can't use it here.

Thankfully I have no direct experience with this disease. My understanding is that IBD can remain dormant for years in boas, but no one knows just how long a boa can go without showing symptoms since up until earlier this year conclusive tests were only available post-mortem.

I don't know of any studies that looked at transmission from the dam to the offspring, again, because live animal testing has been available for less than a year, and such a study would involve finding a carrier female and breeding her to see if the neonates were infected.
 
Boas can be carriers for a long time. It's possible that the boa came in as a carrier and it manifested itself due to the stress of delivering the babies. The babies could then have been exposed. There is new research that I have seen that suggests pythons can be carriers as well and it is not the instant death that we used to think.
 
All the people who bought from me said what they needed to say, and that's what matters. They are not part of the crowd who is bullying and spreading lies about me and my snakes. They know ans have said you are all being ridiculous. Either way, yes my mother suggested going after youguys. And you obviously take threats lightly and immaturely when, to me, it is a serious matter.
Nothing you have said is true and I have living proof that its not true and will soon have a blood test showing it is not true. So every negative word in this thread which will cause lack of business for Andy and I has no reason to be here, due to it being false. You are scaring off business simply out of enjoymentand satisfaction that you have ruined someone's life. Andy put his entire life into this shop and all you want to do is drag him and I down. I won't allow it. I am doing what I possibly can to prove to the world that we are responsible, reliable, have healthy snakes, and so on.

No Mindy. You are scaring off business due to your own words and attitude. No one here has said anything to you that isn't true. Instead of learning from people who have been around for years, you chose to argue and ignore everything being said. No one is being mean to you. No one is lying about you. Your own words are the ones being used against you. All everyone wants is for you to take this seriously and learn. Just because you don't see it as a big deal, it doesn't mean it's not. You are selling snakes to the public. What you do affects everyone. You need to take a step back and act like an adult who wants a career and not as a teenager who acts like they know everything. I have a daughter who is 17, so I know this behavior and see it often amongst other teens in school with her. My daughter's classic response to everything is "I know". I see you being that same way. Like I tell her, even if you don't like what's being said, be respectful and listen. You may learn something.
