I know it's really stupid to ask, but wouldn't her actions fall under CT's animal cruelty law.

It makes it a crime for those who impound or confine an animal to fail to (1) provide proper care for it; (2) cage or restrain it to prevent it from injuring itself or another animal; or (3) supply it with wholesome air, food, and water (CGS § 53-247(a)).

& These tests are providing basic care for these animals and hurting other animals through exposure.

Mindy has sure attempted deception, in this thread, and is, currently, trying to conceal everything. By her actions, & attitude, it is quite obvious that she is a danger, to others, since she, apparently, does not care if she hurts anybody or anything.

I am really starting to get upset with this petstore. Talk about an unethical owner just out for a buck. He has no concern about his customers except for how much money they have.
Not caring about potentially wiping out a person's (or multiple people's ) collections just to make a buck is disgusting.

I would not hesitate to buy an animal from Mindy's collection, nor would I hesitate to buy an animal from her workplace. Mistakes happen, with all of us, especially when we're starting out. As an experienced Veterinary Technician specializing in reptiles and exotics, I do not see any major red flags in this situation. If her animals were ill, they would be displaying far more symptoms, and most would be dead by now. Have I ever done a transaction with MJC? No, I haven't. But like I said before, I would not hesitate.

Since nothing get erased,looks like no one is going to touch you with a ten foot pole either!

That was alot to read and take in. Granted i may have skipped some of the more drawn out childish posts.

Ive never personally dealt with Mindy buying or selling. Ive seen her in FB groups and weve talked a few times. Ive seen her give good advise and bad, but Ive seen that from numerous breeders over the years, young and old. I do think Mindy has alot to learn and needs to pick and choose her battles. This situation should have been handled differently and hopefully she learns from this ordeal. Would I buy anything from her now, after all this? No...

Some of theses responses do seem unnecessary and its obvious some of the posts werent read at all when responding, but i can see how it may be hard to follow. Theres alot of he said, she said being thrown around, alot of back tracking and alot of assumptions being made that only add to the confusion.

Normally Id stay off the thread unless i had a personal buying experience but felt like adding my 2 cents

I simply downloaded the original videos from her youtube post. They are just as they were posted. Once I have some time I will just upload them here. I dont understand why someone who feels they did nothing wrong would go to such lengths to remove any material connected to what she said and did.

I already put them up on page 9. I don’t have a PC so downloading wasn't an option. I just recorded them playing on ny iPad. Didn't alter them.

Seriously!!!???? I read through this entire thread. She suspects she had a virus in her collections. Then she looses snakes to said virus. Still sells snake because "she" believes they are healthy without having any tests done. Then she lies numerous times throughout the thread. People, we are in trouble with this girl. I get the feeling the only thing she cares about is getting attention and making a few bucks without any regards for her animals....very scary!!!

Mindy is obviously keeping a close eye on this thread. Perhaps she is hoping that it will all go away.

But because she has chosen to keep the testing process and results secret as far as this thread goes, I think people will continue to post their thoughts and opinions, hopefully others will read all that has been written here and be able to make an informed choice about whether they want to deal with either her or This Side of Paradise Pet Store or Amazing Animalz.

Our rescue mare died over the winter. She was Mindy's, but the poor mare's past neglect caused her too much harm. It was a very difficult thing to put her down, but the vet encouraged us that it was the right thing to do. We have two other horses and neither of them are for sale.

This bothers me. A 'rescue' horse so far gone it was allegedly euthanized, but Mindy in her own words said she tried to sell a horse, her mom says neither of the other two horses are for sale, one might think that it was the far gone rescue horse that was put up for sale prior to being allegedly euthanized.

The only 2 reasons anyone would keep the testing and test results a secret are: (1) if there are no tests actually being done or (2) if the results came back positive for something.
If there is nothing to hide, why hide it?

NO SELLER SHOULD EVER SHIP USPS! The fact that the 2 of them knew it was being shipped that way and had no problem with it speaks volumes about their ethics. You CANNOT ship a snake USPS. It's not allowed. The Post Office would love a copy of this video.

Lucille, I cant read the text on the image you posted. Does it state that you cannot ship ball pythons?

Am not Lucille but can answer this.
A person cannot ship any species, of snake, via USPS (so, of course, this would include Ball Pythons).

She knew it was being shipped that way. The seller would have sent tracking info. No one gets a delivery without knowing how it was shipped or when it would arrive.

So this is what I'm getting out of this so far regarding the you and pet stores involved with this story. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Amazing Animalz (Mike and Patricia) sold you a snake, that they got from someone who got it from a show (probably one of us "tools") and that this snake was so sick when you bought it, I believe you stated it was too far gone, that it died very shortly after you received it from what you stated was IBD. You contacted the original breeder who told you that they lost part of their collection due to a disease, probably the same one that killed your snake. This diseased snake was at some time part of the collection at Amazing Animalz, or at the very least passed through their ownership, It also appears that they clearly did not apply any form of proper QT, and although, as you have stated, this animal had IBD (at the very least died from a disease that killed other animals) you are asking us to believe, by posting images of texts that imply this, that Mike of Amazing Animalz feels, even as he has been told by you of this issue, an issue that could destroy others collections and their life savings, that it is none of our ("tools") business who this snake came from. Is all that correct?

This side of Paradise (Andy) who you say is aware of the issue at hand here is telling you that you are not allowed to release the results of the tests that you are claiming to be having done , on your snake and not his, unless we are buying one, and that although he also is aware of the issue at hand, and although you appear to have claimed otherwise, Animals from This side of Paradise are being brought from This side of Paradise to your home, as the recent video appears to show, when there is enough question of concern of disease that you are having tests done. and that they are then being shipped to This side of Paradise customers. Is all this correct?

I'm not making statements of fact here and its probably just my low reading comprehension that brought me to these understandings but if I were any of those involved I would very much want you to make it very clear whether any of the above is true, or not. If not, please do correct me.

Another thing, it appears you are saying that the results will not be released, other then to a buyer. I will call your bluff on that. This means that if the results are negative you will not release them. To do otherwise would seem to imply that it is only if they are positive, that you, and Andy, will not release them. Is this correct?

The package was shipped fedex and the shipping label was printed through shipyourreptiles.com. This package was dropped off personally by myself. I packed the snakes in old bags of healthy snakes. I don't normally do this and haven't since. I realized after a long day at work that the company I got my deli cups from sent an extra pack of cups and no lids. I explained this to her and apologized for the used bags ahead of time. My only sharpie also died while writing on the bags, as well as my car getting hit by a school bus while I was parked at my office printing the packing slip. It was a rough day. The package was delivered to the shop Mindy works at. All information on the animals was given through Facebook, and the day of shipment I had very little time to figure it out, get it packed, and get to the shipping center on time. As for marking the box Live Harmless Reptiles, which I normally do, but like I said, dead sharpie. I've gotten boxes with or without markings from various breeders, so didn't think this to be a big deal. The package went from Pa to Ct also. I believe you are making mountains out of molehills here, trying to find something in nothing. I've talked with Mindy and believed her to be an honest person pursuing her hobby. I told her she should get her animals tested, and explained why once all of this came to light. How she handles her business is none of mine. Thanks.
