In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Inquiry MJC Serpents...

I see your logic flawed on many levels. As an adult or even a person with some sort of integrity, you should be able to take constructive criticism. It's a part of life, and it's purpose is for the betterment of yourself.

You should not have this attitude "oh they were acting like this and that and acting unprofessional.... So we will too" that's very childish, and especially for Andy to act that way. Your mentality in a situation such as this should be... "Ok.. In my perception they are being unprofessional, but I must remain professional for the sake of my business"

The real world can get ugly fast, and acting in a similar way never helps the situation.

You want a "professional" response to all of this.....

Mindy, it would be in your best interest to gather funds immediately to get the tests done needed to prove it was never IBD. Your snake sales, snake acquisitions, and breeding plans should be put to an immediate stop and your whole collection should be treated as a quarantine unit. Paper towels for everyone and a water bowl. I would even disinfect everything before setting that up.

In terms of the vet, I know my vet allows payment plans and such, I would find a vet with that option and get them checked ASAP. No one on this BOI wants problems with you, people have been trying to help you from the start but you have not acted appropriately to comments and acted very immature. Once you started the immature act and constant lying, that's when people get bothered, especially when our hobby is at risk... One snake could turn into 5 snakes, which turns into collections of snakes, which could potentially lead to something very devastating to the herp community. It's not to be taken lightly.

So I think you need to buck up... Grow your plums as you like to say, and start acting... Stop the baby cry whining act, it gets you nowhere, stop the "whole world is against me" act because it's not, and stop lying... Apologize for your actions, and prove people wrong about the IBD.

Just my 2 cents as always. I hope you read this and realize that it's time to grow up. I was an immature child at 18... But now I know better through learning and adults helping me realize my critical mistakes. Hopefully you do also. I wish you the best of luck in becoming a better person and hopefully you do something about your pets

Omg. Yeah I'm done. Tired of owning up to everything for nothing. Tired of being accused of things I never said or did. Tired of being treated like I know nothing. And tired of repeating myself. See you when I post the negative test results.
Have fun continuing to attack me in every way possible, computer bullies!

If you are talking about my response as an attack it was in no way, shape, or form an attack. If that's your perception, then I am sorry for you.

A very wise man once said....

"I know that I know nothing"

Take that advice.
Socrates was brilliant.

It's almost ridiculous for me to respond because you are just going to be a child about it. I tried to offer you a courteous response, and you freak out.

Good luck with your failing business. And your lack of a brain.

And to say that I don't care about anything but the money.
Disgraceful.
If I didnt care about the snakes I wouldn't make sure they are eating consistently before i sell them. If I didnt care I wouldn't be constantly worried about not getting to the shop to check on them. If I didn't care I would refuse to pay for rescues - when a snake needs rescuing i will and HAVE overpaid for it, get them to good health then place them with someone i trust who has taken the time to come to me and learn from me. (Im sure that will get a response from someone!! Heh *rolls eyes*) if i didnt care about the animals i wouldnt get attatched to them and get to the point where i do not want to sell them, and cry when they do sell.
If we were so careless, why are we always donating to local charities and me supporting USARK with every snake sale i make?
Talked to andy last night and he informed me that our latest donation brought $9k to a girl who died of cancer and had leftover medical bills for her family to pay.
We buy EVERYTHING from local people, take trades, consign animals for them, and we take good care of them.
As far as being called a "flipper," i'm a business. When i buy snakes wholesale, the seller knows i am buying with intentions to resell.
Also, how is buying to sell any different than breeding to sell? Either you can use what's already produced and help someone out by giving them money and more room, or keep breeding and only sell your own production and not help anyone else out with their breeding business.
I buy from multiple local people so that they too get something out of the hobby. I support them and they support me.
I don't see why that is so wrong.

Mindy, this is called an appeal to emotions. Emphasizing that you "care" by providing, as you say, consistent eating habits, worrying about them and crying over them. You're emotionally attached, that's great. But that's emotionally "caring", not physically "caring" as in, providing them the husbandry that is ideal.

If there was even a small chance that any of my animals was at risk for a disease (and I have close to 50 animals under my care, ranging from a 1,200lb AQHx to 2g Crested Gecko hatchlings) that I would WANT to get that weight off of my shoulders as soon as possible. It would eat me up to know that there was even a CHANCE that I was putting any of my animals at risk for an underlying condition (if I have a cold, I wear a HEPA mask and latex gloves before feeding/watering my RATS, that's how careful I am.). Making sure an animal is eating is great, donating to USARK and helping little girls with cancer is great, but that's not what this is about.

Honestly, your attitude is yours to have. If you want to play dirty, attack and dismiss others, that's your perogative to live with. But you're attacking because other people care. That's the reason this has exploded the way it has. These people are passionate about animals and they don't want to see anyone's animals get hurt, anyone's colonies get wiped out. They aren't out to get you because you're 18 or because you've proved to be hostile, they want to see that these animals are healthy. I know when you're 18 money is tight, but each animal you take on is your financial responsibility. It's not rescue if you can't take care of it, it's hoarding. If you can't afford to take each animal you own to the vet for a wellness check once a year, then you can't afford emergency expenses. If you can't afford a single, $200 test to confirm you're clear of a highly infectious and eventually fatal disease, then you can't afford to clear that disease from your colony.

There's a fine line, and it can be hard to tell when you've crossed it. But if you are truly passionate about animals, that's a line you need to be cognizant of as you take in, and send out, each animal you do. You need to be prepared for that animal to come back to you, possibly not in good health. You need to be prepared to dedicate financially to that animal's health and well being. You need to be prepared to adapt your lifestyle to keep you, and ALL of your animals HEALTHY, not just well fed. You shouldn't be wanting to do this test to prove the "internet bullies" wrong, you should be doing it to give yourself peace of mind that all of the animals that you love so much aren't at risk of a horrible disease. THAT'S what caring for these guys is.

I had skimmed through quite a bit of this, so i see where i may have not looked at some of the longer posts. Mindy, take a break from fauna if you need it. Take a day to yourself and really think about everything going on. Honestly, i have seen some of these where the op would disapear while waiting for the test results. This banter that you are creating going back and forth really is pointless. Theres no need for the name calling, or the sarcastic replies. Really, half of this thread/drama could have been opted out if you had just read it, taken the advice as needed, said thanks and that youre still waiting for the results. I know its not easy with people accusing you of such things, and that youre just trying to get your point of view out there, but really, just stop! Wait for the results and discontinue digging yourself a deeper hole.

I hadn't said anything remotely negative, even offered sincere advice, and you put MY NAME on your sh*tty black list. I had no reason to dislike you. This thread and that list have changed that. I don't even breed ball pythons anymore and I'm on a List in ball python hobbyist on Facebook. Grow up. You've made your bed, now it's time to lay in it.

ANDY MAVROS THIS SIDE OF PARADISE PETS
MINDY COMEAU

I believe Mindy is trying to play the 'po me' card (but forgets that the snakes are the real losers, potential and actual, here).
In addition, I believe her numerous posts which bring nothing new to the table are a deliberate attempt to distance and obscure the original issues in this thread, and I believe that refreshing Jen's overview from time to time will anchor those issues for newer readers who might not otherwise see them:

Per Mindy's own words, she stated she contacted the seller of the snake and found out they lost a lot of their collection, and necropsies of their snakes showed peripheral inclusions in the blood.

Also, per her own words, she has bought and sold several snakes since her snake's death, including a boa litter born in May. 2 of those boas she sold died -- one died on September 7th within a few weeks of leaving her collection, the other died within just 1 week of leaving her collection. The first supposedly died from "organ failure caused by being fed weekly", and the other supposedly died from "thermostat failure". Necropsies were not performed on either boa. There is also a 3rd snake at her "store" that was on the verge of death:

She also claims to QT, but per her Instagram, she was photographing several newly acquired snakes with her established snakes, including those that had been around the one that died:

imagejpg6_zps06c82eb8.jpg

This was her initial ad selling her collection:

imagejpg3_zps24cf74d1.jpg

The summary is this: Mindy had a snake die from what she suspected as IBD, that she states came from a vendor who lost a significant portion of their collection to IBD. She never had a necropsy or any testing done herself, so it could have been any number of other known viruses like PMV or BPNV, or just a random fluke. No way to know. She continued buying and selling animals immediately after, often mixing them together for pics (including the snake housed with the suspected IBD snake), thus no quarantine whatsoever. Mindy then admits that 2 of the boas she sold in that timeframe died in their owners' care -- one in less than a month of its arrival, the other in less than a WEEK. She claims one died from overheating, the other died from organ failure caused by "being fed weekly". Both are suspicious at best, and a coincidence that they both came from her. Then a third snake in her care, at her "store", almost died from extreme weight loss. NOW she's looking to sell off her entire collection. On top of that, she repeatedly deletes/bans/blocks anyone on Facebook that contradicts or questions her, refuses to listen to or acknowledge hobbyists with far more knowledge and experience than her that have tried to get through to her, and deletes/hides every last shred of evidence on her Instagram and her Facebook profile once it is questioned...which is kinda sketchy.

Given all of the above, I feel that warrants an FYI to potential buyers, so that people can read the information themselves and make an educated decision before buying her animals, and if they do, at least be aware that they should be strictly quarantined to err on the side of caution.

It's 6 am in parts of the country and 25 people are currently viewing this thread. This will not go away mindy if you don't do the right thing. Even tho you can't block us or delete our comments you are the one in control of this situation. You are the one who decides which way this thread goes. If you want it to keep going down hill and ruining your reputation then keep doing what your doing! If you want the thread to turn into a good guy post then I encourage you to do the right thing immediately! Chanel the attitude, stop blaming others, act like an adult and most importantly get the tests done.

I'll be back with the date of the appointment shortly. Until then... eh screw it me saying to give me a chance isn't going to get anywhere cuz i am doing the right thing but everyone is pretending I'm not.

There you go again! Pot calling the kettle black. Talk about twisting my words lol I said change your attitude immediately! I'm not stupid I realirealize it's impossible to get the tests done right this second BUT it's after 9 am most vets offices are open so you could immediately get on the phone and stastart calling vets asking if they can see you today and if they will do a payment plan with you. Keep calling till you find one that's says yes to both of those questions and get the snakes there today.

Mindy what you still don't seem to grasp is the right thing to do would have been having the tests done 18 months ago when the snake you suspected had ibd. You have lied and procrastinated for months. You threw your right to whine about people holding you to your word the first time you said you would have the tests done and didnt. The poor me I'm a victim act just makes you look worse.

As far as my physical care and husbandry goes.. they look fine to me!

Mindy, I'm not trying to attack you but this isn't going to go away until you get the tests done and by constantly refusing and by calling us bullies. You're only delaying yourself more.

You need to take some time off from this forum, gather your thoughts and use your list making skills for good. First thing on your list should be getting your animals that you plan to test to the vet then make a plan of action from there whether the tests come up negative or positive. If you aren't sure what to do if they do come back positive, we're all here for you. You can ask us what the appropriate actions will be in case there really is a disease festering in your collection. We'll stop "attacking" you if you own up to your mistakes. The BOI will be here forever but at least in the end you can show you did the right thing and we'll help you. That's a promise from me, I don't know how anyone else feels but we all care and love our reptiles and if something like this was to happen to any of us, we know that there's a community that cares.

Mmmmmhm. Boy my husbandry practices...

Next person who says i refuse to do the test or anything of the sort is going to have a rough time. I am DONE with this bullcrap! STOP PRETENDING THAT I AM REFUSING TO DO THE RIGHT THING. STOP. Seriously anyone with half a brain can see that i said what i am doing and you all keep saying that im not doing what i AM in fact doing!

Hillary i swear to God. I have to wait for the goddamn vet to get back to me to set up an appointment to get the test done. Are you understanding? Do i need to spell it out for you?

Its not worth it cuz apparently nobody here knows how to read and comprehend. I'll show y'all in the end. I'll show you. And every word you said will be proven wrong and I'll be the winner. Yep.
