• Responding to email notices you receive.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

"MnJ" Snake, Tortoise, Reptile Rescue - VA ???

Thank you for the clarification Ms Keller and more importantly thank you for the fine work you have done in the past. It is good to know that you have selected responsible people, who can be trusted, to continue your work.
We can only hope that they show the same excellent judgment in the future.

Been following this whole thing out of curiousity, and I must say "drat!" that they took the vid down, and do not seem to have any response to my valid comment that people are neither going to want to give animals to a rescue wherein there is a chance they will be used as breeding stock, nor are people going to want to buy from breeders with no guarantee that their "breeders" are not actually rescues. Either way it is incredibly unethical.

Thanks to Wyvern alerting me this morning, I'm posting this as one public notice that I am in NO way affiliated with Michael, Joann, and Nick. I did try to give them some friendly advice about starting a rescue, then Michael called and spoke with me for 20+ minutes before revealing who he was. The next thing that day he'd renamed his rescue Virginia Reptile Rescue, and asked if I'd be OK with that. I most certainly wasn't OK with that. At first he tried to huff and puff about it, then backed down and said that "out of respect for me" he'd changed the name. Yeah.

I think they honestly mean well, but are so completely clueless about how to do it that they have dug themselvse into a hole too deep to climb out of. The best they can do for now is to shut up, back off, and learn more about social interactions amongst humans.

So, in a nutshell, I have notified them that they are to discontinue using any of my materials and my name. I am NOT a supporter, and am NOT affiliated. Period.

Now, just to put it on the record, I *AM* handing over my rescue to another couple here in Richmond. I will remain in the background, but they will be taking over the actual operations of the rescue. I will put more info about it on my website in the next few days/weeks.

Thanks for the info.

Let me say that your site is put together well and lots of great info on there. Awesome job!

If science allowed for a transplant of Mike or Nick's brains into a bird....it would fly backwards.

They are two of the dumbest people I have ever read or about on any forum.

I feel so sorry for their wives and children. They are doomed.

Apparently my comment killed their rescue?

I wouldn't bet on it. They are so used to lying and then calling it a mistake or saying that they never said it I'm betting they'll be back hiding under a new name, again.
They really need to get some better scam advisors.
Hey maybe they could team up with ol Bruce E.
I'd love to watch the scammer scam the scammers.

I knew they were full of it when they claimed they would give up the idea of getting free snakes to sell at market prices and use in their breeding programs so I have been checking their rescue links daily.
The lying dogs are back at it again and still trying to get donations though they do admit they are not a 501.

If a person is as good as his word these people have proven themselves worthless.
Next come the begging on Craig's List.

these guys don't know when to quit do they? does anybody here have saved every names and the websites that they have used?

They are still trying to deny that they ever called themselves a corporation too.
Their domain info is hidden on this one so that no one can prove it is Mike & Nick the wonder duds.

I also have a screen shot of the one from yesterday where they claimed to both be veterinary professionals. If someone can tell me how to post a jpg, I'll put it up.

I spoke to an agent from VA Fish & Game yesterday. He called me at work, and they are investigating this for sure.

Now they are veterinary professionals? Interesting!!! Joanne must be writing the adds on Craig's list . We all know tweetily dumb and tweetily dumber cannot spell or punctuate.

Here's my favorite part!

We will not pay you for them, as we do full vetting on every new addition,

Vetting?

What the hell is that?

vet1 (vet), n., v., vet·ted, vet·ting. Informal.
–n.
1. veterinarian.
–v.t.
2. to examine or treat in one's capacity as a veterinarian or as a doctor.
3. to appraise, verify, or check for accuracy, authenticity, validity, etc.: An expert vetted the manuscript before publication.
–v.i.
4. to work as a veterinarian.
[1860–65; short for VETERINARIAN]

In this case it means fraud. Just like they were an Inc, a 501, lawyers and of course the most obvious a Rescue.
