• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

  • IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ!! About the Google Adsense ads being displayed

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Moderator (s) needed - apply within, please.

Last call!

OK, I'm about ready to wrap this up. Any new nominations, anyone accepting open nominations, or anyone reconsidering their declining the nominations will need to get a move on if they want to be included.

BTW, I may ask all nominations to be voted on to post some sort of resume in the new thread for the voting. What I will do is create the thread first, ask for those resumes to be posted, and then add the actual poll afterwards when people can have a chance to read about the nominations.

Also, the list of nominations will be presented to the current mods so we can veto anyone that we feel might have issues, past or current, that could generate a conflict of interest concerning this site.

And just to reiterate, the poll SHOULD NOT be a popularity contest. I want everyone to vote for the person they feel will be the BEST of the group for a moderator. That means the person you feel is best able and willing to do the job, and in the process help to make this site a better place for YOU and everyone else to frequent regularly.

Thanks to all for their help with this.

Due to my responsibilities on many other forums, I feel I have to reconsider my run here.

I think it will be too much.

Thanks to any supporters I might have, but at this time I must withdraw.

I'ld like to see Laura B if she changes her mind

I'd like to nominate someone who has already shown themselves to be an outstanding moderator elsewhere, and while he does not have tons of experience here, he has been a terrific mod in the past on one of Rich's other forums.

Dean P. Arnold II, aka 'Roy Munson', you are a good person, a fine leader, and you don't take no bs. You da man. :yesnod:

That's awfully nice of you, Lucille. I needed a break, and Rich was nice enough to oblige me. And while I feel like I'm ready for service again, I can't expect Rich to re-select a quitter. But I'm available to him if he ever feels he needs me (though I'd be woefully ignorant of firearms or Corvettes!).

Deano, you hafta say yes or no, so's they know to put you on the vote ticket or not. Just say yes, it will be a fun election.

Welcome aboard Dean. Just like old times, running for moderator together.

I want two votes. You are both outstanding men. If there is a multiple vote where Rich wants a couple of mods, there would be no better team anywhere.

Looks like I'm going to have to back out now too. Major company layoffs today have left me as the only person in my department, so my workload has just gone way up -_-

How many Mods is Rich adding, and will the vote be limited to the number of mods he's needing? Like if he needs 3 mods, do we get 3 votes each, two mods; two votes, etc?

Sorry, but no, the software isn't written to allow that capability. I have to choose between allowing members to vote on a single nominee, or allowing them to vote on as many as they wish. I can see benefits and drawbacks to each method.......

As for how many I plan to add, I don't know.

I don't post here often... I spend more time lurking...
But I would like to second Dean Arnold.... He done a great job over at CS.com...

Hey Rich is there a timeline for when we can start voting or have I missed the thread, I have been getting ready for the big move back to TN and havent been online in a few days.

Sorry, but I tend to try to avoid doing anything serious on April 1. And I really don't want people casting votes on that day neither...
