    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I know that only shows their last post and could have been here in the meantime whithout posting but they are usually more busy (posting) then they have been lately.
 
Of the three, Jay has been the most active here, but rarely posts. Dennis comes in at second, but I understand he has some personal issues taking up his time lately. Ken has some real severe personal issues in his life that are taking up much of his time, and as such hasn't been here but rarely.

Things just happen, and this is not the highest priority in their lives, which is the way it should be. Plus, I think after my crackdown, things aren't as needful of their constant attention as it once used to be here.
 
wow, i am sorry to hear ken is having problems..I hope everything works out alright for him. I think after your latest crack down there has been a 90% drop in the bad issues. And that JAY needs to start posting more, he is the one with the best sense of humor!!!!
 
Yes, I agree with you about the crackdown being effective, apparently. The garbage content is definitely WAY down, and traffic is WAY up. Getting an average of 30 new members signing up every day, and we are hitting around 11,000 unique IPs per day hitting the site.

So, yes, it does look like the effort to crack down on the antagonism is having the desired effect.

As for Jay, I think he is kind of busy as well, as we all are. Personally, I am up to my eyeballs with the peak of the breeding season for my critters right now, so time is difficult to allocated for everything that needs to be done.
 
With 11,000 uniques a day your advertising client list should be growing well also then.
Of the 30 a day, approx how many actually become paid members>?? Is it still a case of "i like to look but not pay"??

As for advertisers, I am embarrassed to admit that I am not really paying too much attention to that. The script I am using for that function handles it all pretty much without my intervention. So I am surprised as much as everyone else when a new ad pops up there.

No way of easily telling about the paid memberships. The notices I get don't differentiate between new paid members and renewals.

You would think I would be more like some businessman and keep close tabs on this kind of stuff, wouldn't you? :shrug01:
 
although my corner of fauna doesnt get much traffic (i try)... i am glad to say that i'm proud to be a mod here on this site!!!

IMO i see a very bright future here.... that leaves something to say for the "other" (unmentionable) place.
