Moldy eggs???

Ok I never had this problem before never. I checked my eggs today and on 2-3 eggs there is a white fuzz (mold). What should I do with the eggs, I also candled them and there moving see the tails twitching. Should I seperate them from the others for now or despose of them??

Not sure why a few eggs would start to mold; usually when eggs mold it means they're infertile.
I wouldn't dispose of the eggs if you can see the embryo moving inside.
However, I would seperate the moldy eggs from the others and incubate them by themselves.
There are a few things I've heard of that you can do to try to get rid of the mold on the eggs:
Gently wiping the eggs with a little bit of listerine on a Q-tip,
and sprinkling a little bit if anti-fungal foot powder on them.

All 41 of the eggs I have are fertile the been in the incubator now for 45 days. So that's why I was wondering because I've had infertile eggs before. And they collapsed or molded in the first week or so.

Hmm.. That's strange.
I have no idea what would cause only those few eggs to mold when you have so many others in the exact same conditions.
Are the moldy eggs all next to each other (in close proximity)?
Maybe the molding has something to do with the particular spot those eggs are sitting in. (?)

Believe it or not there spread out. But I just looked at them and there starting to collapse which is strange to me because its only been 45 days now. Humidity is at 70% like it been since day 1. I have moved them moldy ones to their own deli cup, there not collapsing yet, fingers are crossed..

What temp is your incubator at? what kind of thermostat do you have?

What kind of soil are the eggs placed in? how damp is the soil they are in?

I would wipe off the mold. I have never used any kind of substance to "clean" a bearded dragon egg. But I havent had this issue with a live eggs before.

Temp is at 83-84 like its been for almost 2 months,
I've gotten the hatch rite from lll reptiles.
The soil is not sopping wet but not dry either.
Been breeding beardies for 3 years now and like
I said never had this happen before.

What kind of incubator?

If its like a hovabator are the eggs laying open in the hovabator or are they inside of bins inside of the incubator?

I use taller tuber ware containers. I mix up the perlite. with a light mix BUT i lay a thin layer of dry soil down. keeping the eggs off the wet soil. And how i have the container setup, I pour water down the corner of the container until it covers an inch or so of the bottom. Then i put the lid on. If it gets to humid in the container i crack the lid and let it sit for 5-6 hrs and check it.
As you can see into the container it looks to be full of moisture. but if you touch the soil on top it is practically dry.

Hovabators will hold three of these container. each container can hold about 30 eggs. So 3 clutches at a time. There is a open area in the incubator to put a smaller container but you cant hold as many eggs of course.

The deli cups I use are from the store there about 3-4 inches tall. The (mold) is like a white powdery substance. It is barely visible it kinda looks like a small cobweb. I don't know it kinda bizarre to me. But all the other eggs are great. But 5 of my eggs are starting to collaspe right now. Its been only 46 days or so. All of my last clutches exceeded the 60 day mark. But these ones aren't for some reason.

Well, my best suggestion in this case is to remove the "moldy" eggs that are not collapsing. Try to save those, if there are any. clean them up. (remember what side is up. there to far along in the cycle to turn them to keep them alive.) Put them in a fresh container with fresh soil. leaving a thin layer of dry soil on top. You can put the collapsing eggs in there separate deli cups. now the ones that are collapsing maybe collapsing because there either to dry or to wet. i dont remember how it went... but put them in a fresh container and change the humidity. And of course the ones that are fine, leave them alone

Well thanks for the info. And I know when eggs start to collaspe when there is not enough humidity. So I put more water into the channels. Right now its at 80% and still collasping. Not sure if there gonna be early birds or not. My wife told me today to cut one open and I told her no they will come on there own. But it is stirring in my mind to slice one open but don't want to kill the little booger.
