Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hey fauna, I wanted to warn you about Mark Schaeffer from Allentown, PA. A quick short summary is I was purchasing an 18" black throat from him for $100 because he needed to hurry and make room for an Argus monitor coming in on friday (today). I was to send him $60 1st and $40 after the monitor came, this was because he said he had free shipping through shipyourreptiles because they messed up a order of his 1 year ago.

He "sent it off" yest around 5pmEST and said i should have it no later than 9:30-10am Pacific..The last time i talked to him was about 11 this morning when i said it didn't come so he called and told me it was on route and on its way...he does not want to return any phone calls, texts, emails, or pm's...i seen he posted an argus on here recently but says its sold..not sure if its real or not, but if he did recieve money for it he probably didn't send anything off....

im pretty upset but i thought i'd give you a heads up to watch out for this guy
 
Wait... So the monitor was shipped yesterday, was scheduled for delivery today. It is not yet the end of the business day, and you are already posting a bad guy post? Jump the gun much?

UPS can make mistakes too, you know. It doesn't have to be the sellers fault. I think this thread at this time is in extreme bad taste and you should have at least waited until the end of shipping hours today or until you were in contact with the seller. Now, if the monitor shows up in the next 5 minutes or 4 hours, you are going to feel like a real piece of crap for putting a permanent bad guy post up about the seller, for no reason.
 
About the phone calls and PM's and not answering them and such, some people have jobs were they can't answer phones. It is the middle of the business day right now. Jeesh.

the way i'm reading his post considering he made it at 5:xx AM means he's still considering it being the same day. so in reality he talked to him at 11AM 'yesterday' which is the day it should've arrived and he's posting now 'today' at 5:xx AM that it wasn't received. at least that's the way i'm perceiving it. i could be wrong. we'll see.

Please post any tracking or correspondence, and let the seller know about this thread.
 
hey everyone..the monitor did not come and it's not that he has a job because at one point he told me he was fired but then later he said he got his job back so he didnt need to sell the monitor. A bit after that he said he could actually go lower on the price since he had a job again but didnt start until next week. ANd 1st off I wasn't overwhelimng him with phone calls or anything like that kyryah so dnt worry about that, but he did say that he was going to text me right back when he talked to the shippers..he did, and said it was almost there and to hit him when it did..or didn't.
i mean wouldn't he be waitin for a response from me on how a monitor he raised is doing? i would be..

I paid western union money gram because he told me that he did not have paypal..i asked twice for the tracking # and this guy told me "they don't give tracking #s"..?!

I have the pm's and emails here now but id love some help on how to add them all on here because there quite alot..do i have to copy and paste EACH message or is there a way i can load them all up here?

I'm sorry, but it doesn't look good. I never send anyone money by Western Union because you can't get it back. Also, every shipping company offers tracking numbers. I'd be surprised if he actually sent it.

Woops. Im thinking you just got took. A scammers favorite way to receive funds. Western Union.
 
Western Union is a HUGE no no in this industry... If you are willing to spend the fees to send Western Union then just go ahead and pay for Overnigh USPS by Money order... I would say you won't be seeing your Monitor or your money again... thanks for the warning on this guy though... just makes you want to avoid people like this. Lesson learned. NEVER send Western Union!
 
Sorry Roger. At least if you had to learn a lesson the hard way, it was "only" $100 lost. I've seen threads where people have lost $$$$ they won't get back.
 
Okay, I understand now. I thought when you meant "today" you actually meant TODAY, I was confused.

I agree you probably got took. Always send money by paypal, credit card or UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE money order ONLY. A seller does not have to have a bank account to cash a USPS money order, they can cash them right at the post office. USPS is pretty serious about fraud, and will find lost/stolen money orders and can give you proof that a money order reached it's destination and was cashed.

I am sorry about your loss, have you made the seller aware of the thread? Just maybe you will get lucky and he will care enough about his rep to make things right.
 
thanks for the concern and future tips..i did let him know because he posted a Argus monitor 4ft for sale so i replied to the thread and he has been on since then so im sure he has seen it. Its funny before he was trying to assure me that it was real and that he had a great rep stating "if i did anything wrong i know i would have a thread warning about me or i would be kicked off of here.."

definately more aware now because of this...thanks for the input and everything else everyone it is greatly appreciated

hope he can make it right, if not i hope he doesn't get anyone else
