Mark is one of the good guys in the business. Really cares about the dragons he breeds and is very on top of biosecurity and genetics. Too bad he had to get permanently banned from here. I dont think a permanent ban was warranted especially considering some of the garbage I read on here that seems to get overlooked. Hopefully that decision will be reconsidered.

What gets overlooked David? Are you privy to what is stated to members who use foul language or post disruptive posts? Do you see their warning and infraction points? You see, If a moderator here decided to give you a warning about bringing this topic off discussion nobody but you and the moderator would have known about it. So what do you mean by overlooked? Do you expect us to read every single post or do you mean we just overlook them? The members have the ability to report a post if they find that it violates a rule. Every single post that is reported is looked at. Everyone of them. So if you see this "garbage" before we do then report it.

I find it offensive that my niece put a good guy thread on here about A GOOD GUY who sold her a beautiful, healthy dragons that she loves and some one else jumped right in on the very 1st page to to spoil that for her and make her feel as though she might have done something to hurt her GOOD GUYS reputation.

I don't think anyone stated anything here that was negative towards her post. It was a good guy thread that could have easily stayed on topic. Nobody that I know of has stated anything as negative about this person as a breeder or seller.

It really bothers me that Moonstone is banned. I mean he never said he hated Fauna and I think alot of people find it rediculous that people can break up , lie , photo shop pic and not give refunds after getting the dragons back can stay on here. Please let Moonstone back on here. He really is a good guy.

You are right, we don't ban people for being guilty or innocent.
This forum is provided for you to make those conclusion. We are not the judge and jury. Sure moderators can voice their personal opinions on subjects but we don't ban people by choosing a side. You get banned for breaking the rules here. Let's just state that two people come forward and tell us your a scam. That you lied and cheated them. Should we take their word? No, that's what this forum is for. For the members to decide for themselves.

With that stated looked at it from this end. Rich takes the garbage from the bad guys because their names are up here for all to see. How many times do you think this site gets threaten by what someone posts about them here? Our protection is the fact that we provide you the opportunity to make those claims, The site doesn't make them.

Consider this, an advertiser posts in a magazine. He has a great service and has customers love him. Great! One day he decides he is going to put an ad in the magazine that states "and hope this magazine goes away instead of just threatening to take it away to make a few bucks"

Do you think that the magazine would care to have is input? Look, however you would like to voice your opinion about others here that's between you, the person, and the readers. Just make sure it falls within the rules or you will receive warnings as outlined in the above link. But there is no need for Rich to take the constant attack on the site or himself. For years people were allowed to stay and badmouth the site and Rich. He took it for a number of years. It's not tolerated anymore, period.

As for the subject of this thread nobody stated he was a bad guy. He stated he wished that the BOI was gone, Instead of the owner just threatening to take it away to make some money. Well he got his wish. Poof!, its gone... for him.

I am sorry that your good guy thread was derailed but it wasn't by the moderators or anyone that might have a different opinion of your seller.

I feel like Mark (moonstone dragons) really just chose some bad wording. I think he meant to say that he tries to stay out of debating and picking sides in BOI threads when he doesn't know the people because he doesn't want to get involved unless he can contribute any information. .

Nothing stated above would have raised an eyeball. It would have been perfectly fine. Wrong words or not, I have a hard time getting from the above post to the one made that wished this site went away.

If somehow I'm wrong, and that isn't what he tried to convey but really meant what you posted, he can feel free to email me and explain how it came out so differently or how my interpretation is wrong.

I agree with you. The sad truth is we did not even know about the ban until on the 1st page of this thread it was pointed out. It does seem that the person who did it didn't mean anything by it, just that it is sad. What stood out to me is WebSlave ( and I'm guessing he is the owner of this site by what you have said) was on the 1st page quoting what Mark said and saying he took offense to it. Ok so this is his sight and I guess that gives him the right but I have to ask "Why"

I read what Mark said and there was nothing bad about this site. As my niece stated the only reason we know of this site is because of Mark. What he said was he hated the BOI. I can understand that. Have you read any of the threads. It's so hard to try and get the information your looking for from them because there are 30, 40 and 50 pages of people calling names and cussing at other people that it's hard to figure out how the people involved in the transaction resolved it. Sometimes it goes on for days and days. I too hate that. When I look on the BOI to find out about the person I am interested in buying from I don't want to have to read page after page of people cussing at each other for days, lol by the time it ends if it does the animal I was looking at is gone.

No I am not privy to that, but months ago saw the same person on the same thread call the person he didn't like the worst kind of names and a moderator did come on that thread and tell him to stop, but he didn't and he is still on here talking to people the same way. That's an easy one. You don't slap around the guy who owns the joint, nor belittle his handiwork. Not if you still want to hang around there, as the moderators will likely take offense at such rudeness and toss their rump out the door. Case and point here.....

I believe someone stated they hate the constant attacks being made by people in the threads. We are all adults here and should be able to discuss things without resorting to cussing and name calling, it all so pointless. Yes I have been offended by some of the things I have read but I personal would never report anyone and try to get them banned, that is just not the kind of person I am. But I am not going to stay quiet for ANYONE who upsets my niece. She has never said or done anything to hurt anyone on here and in fact always tries to say something good about the people she has dealt with or has said nothing at all. Brenda, when you go to click reply at the bottom of the page, above the box that opens to reply in, you will see little icons across the top. The third from the end wraps highlighted text in quotes. It will help separating what you typed and the quotes that you are responding to. I'm still trying to separate out what you were stating to what you are quoting but I did want to mention this first. Also you can simply respond to one quote by clicking on the quote icon on the bottom right side on each post.

Also, I meant to cover this as well. There is no protection for anyone here.

So the lesson I'm learning here is what?? It's ok to be offensive as long as you pick and choose who you offend. So how do I know is there a list some where?? Is it the Sponsors? Is that the list, are they the ones I have to tip toe around?

It doesn't matter if you a well known name in the reptile community or not. And that is absolutely why some of them have a problem with this site. It doesn't matter how much you contribute here either. We have booted both. If you break the rules consistently you will be gone. Rich has made it clear from the beginning that it buys you no protection here. Banner ads, sponsorships and memberships no-matter. Believe me, You have no idea how many times someone thought because they contribute here that we would remove a negative post or not show them to the door for breaking the rules. Just recently a long term contributing member was shown the door for a year because all of his little infraction points added up to that point. No protection, period. You break the rules you get a warning.

I got a translucent male a few month back and he is bigger now and so colorful. His color keeps getting brighter. Most trans that I have seen fade as they grow. Not him I will post pics soon he is super cute. I have not seen another dragon like him I have to post pics I can't explain his coloring you just have to see it.

Although I hate the BOI and hope it goes away instead of just threatening to take it away to make a few bucks, Knowing David as I do, if the intent was to do a refund, partial or not, just do it already. He got a necropsy, not required, the snake is still dead, he has said that he doesnt think you are a scammer on several occasions. David is a world class guy, and the money isn't going to change his life, I am sure, but a refund is the right thing to do. Remember what this thread started out as before all the backbiting, name calling, speculation, tangents, he said, she said, and CSI photo analysis. Time is money. The time spend on this, from the stand point of money, is incalcuable. Don't judge breeders on something that happened, judge them on what they do about it.

I highlighted part of his quote in red. That statement is not about the thread he posted it in, and in fact, it isn't about any thread. It's an attack on the BOI and suggests that Rich only made threats of eliminating the BOI so people would give him money. Rich had been threatened with lawsuits in the past because of comments people have made on the BOI. If the site does not generate enough revenue, why should he put himself at risk of being sued and not having the capital to defend himself. He disrespected the site, the owner, the management of the site, and the members, especially the financially contributing members who want this BOI here because it is such a valuable resource for the entire reptile community.

I say good ridence. He got banned and should be banned. I never questioned his business ethics, and I don't care. He ran his mouth and now he has to pay for it.

What exactly are you defending your family from? I don't recall anyone saying anything negative about your niece. Your niece started a good guy thread, so what. Someone else brought up the fact that moonstone was banned. Your family has not been attacked in any way. You are right, Rich does not need me to defend this site. I defend this site because I want to, not because someone put me up to it. I am a financially contributing member of this site and I do it because this BOI is priceless and needs to be here. Well, I had to step away for a little and now I'm just going to skip what I was going to respond to in the previous posts and address this.

She had no reason to feel anything negative. Nothing was stated about her transaction. She posted a thread about a person that she had a good deal with.

Now, this is how it normally works. After you start a thread it is here so when someone his searching they will find the information on this person. That person then may purchase something from him and then might post their experiences here on this thread. It isn't a rule but suggested to use existing threads to make it easier for people searching for information.

She is no longer in control of this thread. What I mean by that is, What if a year from now someone has a bad experience with the subject of this thread and posts here? Would she feel responsible then? She shouldn't. She gave her post and it is a great recommendation. So have others. By some chance that someone has a bad deal down the road they may chose to utilize this thread also, instead of starting a new one. It will not be her fault. Some good guy threads have "good guy" posts and "bad guy" posts. Her "thread" is really her post. She need not be worried about what others have to state.

I feel must say at this point, it is a shame that some of your financially contributing members are by far not as Polite, Respectful, or Helpful as you are. Wow... This thread went seriously off topic. Anyhow, just because he is banned, that wouldnt make him a bad guy in anyones book. People will do their research and either do business with him or not. It would be the same thing as buying animals from someone who DOESNT use Fauna as their primary source of advertising.

If I was in the market to buy some Beardeds, I would consider Moonstone over people here who are not banned ( I wont mention any names either).

Brenda, just to let you know, I buy reptiles from people who do not use Fauna and place Good Guy threads when warranted. This is what the BOI is for and thats what Moonstone was saying that he was against. I hope you see the senseless post that he made regarding the BOI and ask him why he would make such a post. No one is defending Rich, but contributing members will defend the BOI simply because this is why we become contributors in the first place.

Personally, I was a little offended by his BOI remark only because I post in it extensively and try to solve problems between buyer and seller. When people post negatives regarding it, the transaction, the seller, and the buyer... It just makes it that much harder to accomplish what I am setting myself out to do.

Thankyou everyone who is that I am not responsible for this Moonstone bashing thing. This is what got me thinking that I was slightly being attacked. That statement above was directed towards me. And I will say this one last time. I DID NOT KNOW ABOUT THE BAN. I have been lagging on posting my good guy threads. I POSTED Moonstone, Diamond den, Bloodbank and Baltimore beardies all in the same day. I felt that all these breeders deserved them for how I was treated by them. And I clearly thought the good guy threads were for good guy threads only. I guess I stupidly assumed that the reason they have a good and bad guy thread was so that they could stay where they belong. I mean why have a good guy thread and a bad guy thread if they are not separated? My Aunt being called a whiner was very inappropriate and I didn`t appreciate that at all. But as we all some some people are like that. I just felt bad because he is a good guy and I would have never posted anything if I had known all this would happen. Also someone said that he continuously says things about the boi and yet I only see everyone posting one small comment. Where are the continuous comments. And why didn`t he get warnings like the other people on here who clearly should be kicked off? My only point is my Aunt and I are new here so we both are not pretending to know all about fauna and I just wanted to give him a goodguy post because he deserved it.

I in fact have not got all my dragons on here, however I didn't know that you could post about someone you didn't get them from on here, as I stated before I am new to this site. ( a fact I now see, everyone can tell from the number of posts I have made lol) and I see that I have offend some people by asking "why" too much for their liking. lol again, as I will not stop asking about things I don't understand as that is how we all learn. As far as Mark goes I have not talked to the man since last summer when I got my dragon, at which time he was very helpful to me and I do think he is a good guy. I would not want to contact him about all this, that has been on here today, because I just don't think it would be the right thing to do. I'm sure if someone on here wants to ask him something they can contact him through his web site just like I did. I hope that doesn't sound rude but I really wouldn't want to do something that might hurt someones feelings needlessly. How fast some people on here jump to say mean things to people they don't even know really amazes me. Just because we can hide behind a computer screen does not mean we should be rude.
