In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

about Seamus and my War Room. I think you are 100% right. Them emails were something else. WOW. But I feel you are right. I supply a place like no other.......75% of my members post there and no where else. I wish they would use the rest of the board though lol

And I see people bashing BC still. Lets see here is my viewing.

When I had my problems. Jay always was nice in the emails he sent me and so was Randy.

But you can not judge a site or a person being a mod in a heated discussion. Mods or just like you or me. but they have to look over a forum. They have their beliefs too.

But I will say this. BC members are not nice all the time. When they find a troll they attack lmao.............(and I am not meaning that in a bad way guys)

LMAO

This is like saying "There are more prisons that I haven't done time in than the ones I have."

You aren't supposed to do time in any prisons and you're not supposed to be a problem at any forum. Even if you've only done time in one prison, you're still an ex-con.

BTW, just messing with you...all in good fun. ;)

Well here comes more fun.

A nice load of black and green mambas just came into an import facility, and almost all of them have severe mouth and jaw injuries due to crude de-fanging attempts. I get to spend my day tomorrow handing out pain meds and antibiotics to abused mambas. Again.

People really do suck.

Well done David. You and I have our differences but I highly respect the way you just handled this. It could have easily taken this thread down another sour turn had you replied with anger and gotten all defensive. I kinda liked the analogy too though I have to admit lol.

I just don't see the big deal.....if you don't like Seamus...don't read his posts. Ignore him. I've also been banned from a few forums and I don't like being judged because of that, as I'm sure most people don't like to be judged. I'm sure we can let this die down and move onto more important aspects of this great hobby. ;)

Same goes for you David, except you make your presence known and usually melt down to some alter ego you have.

Only thing is we can't seem to avoid you as you ghost forums as aka's after you have been booted off of them. Quite frankly I am worried about interacting with members on other forums because there might always be a chance they are really you.

I get the feeling I will get a warning out of this post, so be it.. Someone has to say what needs to be said no matter who it pisses off..

Oh boy....I apologize but I got a good laugh out of this post. So you're afraid that I may be every new person you talk to? LMAO.....Come on Brian. You give me far too much credit (I'm not all too sure I really want that kind of credit however, LOL). Your own fears and insecurities really have nothing to do with me....I don't really understand the constant mentioning of me in your posts, but whatever floats your boat buddy. As long as you stick to the truth and try not to fabricate stories regarding me I don't see any problem with voicing your opinion of me. Take it easy Brian! ;)

The crudely de-fanged mambas are a hell of a mess. I spent a solid eight hour day debrieding mouths and administering antibiotics and pain meds. The three worst cases are going to the clinic (hopefully today) for surgery.

I was working under dubious lighting so the photos didn't turn out so well, but I'll be posting some from the surgeries. In the meantime here are last year's case photos.

People who do this to snakes need to be severely beaten until they lose most of their teeth. This makes me want to hop a plane to Africa with a heavy club and some pliers.

Hey at least I can provide comic relief. But seriously why do you do that stuff?? You have a big "event" and get booted from a forum and come back to said forum as someone else.. What gives? I mean look what happened at BCF, then TRR. Same old crap.

Now I didn't mind you giving certain people hell on TRR, quite frankly the low life SOB's needed it. But what I really want to know is what "triggers" these events where you just go off the deep end.. Is it some chemical or mental inbalance? Does it involve certain "trigger" words or phrases? Or is it attributed to your youth and being full of piss and vinegar?

Brian, I don't "go off the deep end" as you suscinctly put it......most of my antics are in reality just a ruse. The only reason I came back to TRR this past time was to give Bobby hell, because as you stated, hes a lowlife SOB. I am very comfortable in the fact that while I may be known as a loud-mouth or troll by some, I will *never* be known as someone who does business dishonestly or rips people off. Take this into perspective: who is more damaging to the herp community....a person who flaps his gums on a forum or someone who takes advantage of others for personal monetary gain?

OK I understand somewhat of what point you are trying to get across..

But look at what acting in a manner like you have has done to you and your rep.. Granted there are people out there in the reptile world who are much worse than you, Bobby and Jesse come to mind right off hand.

I can see your point in wanting to give Bobby hell, but shouldn't you have gone through "Proper" channels to do so??

My main goal in all this was to try and get you figured out(still haven't done that). And I have some idea of what you are and can be.

Hell look at me, I cuss to the extent sailors run for cover, I am a 100% bona fied womanizer, and I do what I want when I want and screw those who get in my way. But when it comes to business I get things done that result in profits for my company. What I do sometimes isn't ethical, but the results are profit gains.

Now with my reptiles I will have to change business practices because the end users (customers) will have to be 100% happy with shipping and quality of the end product (animals).. Individuals are not like the contractors I deal with at work. They want quality and a good value, not for you to take them to the nudie bar and get them boozed up to sign contracts.

Rich are you telling me to "Go to Hell"??? ;)

Last time I wasz told that it was because of the t-shirt I was wearing. You know the one with the "Original boy's in the hood" on it.. ;)

Rich are you telling me to "Go to Hell"???

No, not exactly. But in a roundabout way, I am telling you that if this thread gets much more inflammatory, you may just have to go to HELL in order to continue posting on it. ;)

Rich,
Since Brian and David have hijacked this thread with their own personal dispute, how about we just split off "their part" of the thread and send that to Hell. That way the rest of the thread can remain where it is. This thread was about completely different subjects until page 18 when they decided to start their little feud.

I apologize for playing a part in de-railing this thread. I will refrain from making any posts from here on out that are not pertinent to the topic at hand. Sorry again fellas.

Jay what is said is said and done with. I was just wanting some answers was all. I have gotten them answered as best as David can so I am happy and ending the "20 questions with asshole flair". Now we both are not going to hijack this thread so it can continue on as is..

Oh and Rich I like the "roundabout way" you stated this thread was destined to go to "Hell" if David and myself(me esp.) kept it up. I do go all out 155mph standing still and do tend to be a little brash at times. All you have to do is say "Tone it down some" and it is done..

An open letter to Randy regarding the gaboon viper thread in the Pictures forum, since he locked the topic.

http://www.bobclark.com/bcforums/to...ipers...lil+angels.&Forum_Title=Picture+Forum

"I'm sorry that there was a troll on this thread, but she is only one person and there have been many participants on this thread. It is not fair or reasonable to suggest that her contributions are the only reason that you were questioned.

You posted a remark that could fairly easily have been misinterpreted as condoning an unsafe activity. I think that it honestly needed to be questioned for safety's sake. Could it have been questioned more politely? Certainly. Was the question a personal reflection or judgement of your handling skill? I didn't see it that way, but I can see how you might have thought so.

Anyhow since you're the mod you can just get mad at people, post your own conclusions and then lock the thread instead of simply answering the safety question. But I think it would have been better all around just to address the safety issue in a calm and factual way without taking offense. What is really more important - encouraging people's concern about good safety standards, or making sure that everybody knows you are very experienced with venomous snakes and should not be questioned?"

I thought hard before posting this here. I wanted to make peace with this forum and try to understand the moderators' point of view. But I think this one deserves the air time. I hope (somewhat forlornly) that the discussion remains civil.

I think it needs to be okay to question anyone whose posts raise a legitimate safety concern, no matter how experienced they are. Anyone might toss off a casual remark that could be misinterpreted, even if they are very experienced and not actually doing anything unsafe. I've certainly done it. It's a good thing for the whole community when other keepers catch that and ask them to correct the impression. It's a bad thing in my opinion when people send the message of "Do Not Question Me, I Am Very Experienced". I'm not sure if this was the message that was intended, but it's the one I am reading.

*sigh* I'll probably be banned from the forum, but that's okay. I do not mean to personally attack or offend anyone, but I feel that these are legitimate concerns that are worth considering.

Does this mean that Randy is a terrible bad guy? Absolutely not; I understand why he was annoyed by the trolling and the less than tactful way the original question was put. Rudeness should be discouraged; expressing safety concerns should be encouraged. At least that is my personal opinion, which other folks are free to refute, ignore or ban from their forums if they so choose.

I recieved several e-mail about this new thead and instead of jumping in my curiosity was to see if this would turn in to another bash match or if people would try and discuss this in a reasonable tone. I was doing this as to see if my first encounter with this forum was just a bad experience on a very emotional topic. Unfortunately the newest thread has turned in to a {do not question me ever or I will delete, edit, ban you} response. Perhaps not in those exact words but how I read it.

Perhaps Randy is not used to being questioned or perhaps he took what Gregg’s comment was wrong. From the two threads that I have watched on the forum “and again only my limited interpretation of the forum.” Is that when certain members are questioned or a question posed that they do not like the standard answer is rude which apparently insights further insulting be they veiled or out right.

This is not productive in the slightest way. Not all persons that come to these forums are Doctors, Lawyers, and Scientist. In fact most are average persons wishing to gain knowledge and or kids trying to learn. In this case no question was even made just a comment about proper handling. It was blown way out of proportion when a simple {Yes proper tools and or restraint was in place} would have stopped any problems in there tracks.

Like Tanith said from the Hot Forums that I to frequent it is common place to ask questions on handling. It is not meant to be insulting in anyway and a great deal of education has been learned from these types of discussions that have helped others. It as well is a good place for persons interested in Hot Keeping to gather informed information and possibly to make contacts that can aid them.

However as I pointed out a vast majority of people on forums are average people. When they read certain things interpretation can take over and when they see fighting amongst people it detracts from learning and actually makes the persons involved look foolish. As I did in an earlier thread hence my reasoning to give the forum a second chance.

My personal veiw of this is Randy did take it wrong and should have simply either "A" left it alone or "B" said what handling method was involved. As a site leader in his role of a Moderator he should not take persons questioning him or makeing a comment towards a comment he made as a attack.

Gregg as well has started pouring gas on the fire so to speak but as he was being attacked for a comment he made. I can see why he is doing it. Not that it makes it right. But when the same person that you have argued with before again jumps you for you not agreeing or what may have looked like a questioning statement its hard not to.

Dr Owen had the oppurtunity to step in as site administer and ask that both parties either take it to e-mail or ask Randy who appears to be a personal friend to simply answer the question at that point. As it was now a debated subject. Instead he took sides and then laughed at a comment another member made toward Gregg.

As a site officials or just a member you should not take a side yet try and help the conflicting members to get back on topic or solve the problem. So far all I have seen from your site is side taking and threats of banning and locking threads. This in no way aids people in learning. It does however turn people off from wishing to come to a site and learn and contribute. Should not that be your goal.To gain new members and make them feal welcome to post and contribute even if they may possibly be wrong. Being wrong is not bad if you can politly correct them and teach them properly. In doing that more people can learn from anothers mistake.

I read the thread and I definitely felt alot of testosterone & egos flying about, which is not what this hobby should be about. Mods are held to a higher standard than regular posters-I know this because I am both a moderator and administrator on different forums-and they should always try to set an example for the rest of the board. The "my way is the only way and I am infallible" attitude is a horrible one to have, especially when dealing with dangerous animals such as venomous snakes (which I have no experience with, mind you).
