In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Just want to reminisce for a bit. Anybody remember when pastels cost $1,000, a POGs and SPOGs were the hottest combo around, and there were rumors of a lucy with a price tag of 100k?

I was just a kid back then, middle school age even. And I'm glad to see where the hobby has come since. I can't remember the breeder for the life of me, don't think he's still around now, who was producing huge numbers of pastels and supers and then power feeding the ever living crap out of them and flipping them at 1000 grams for way more money.

Anybody remember any morphs that existed in US collections in the 90s besides pieds and albinos?

Hey, it's not THAT long ago.

Bob Clark proved out the 1st Regius mutation- the Albino
Kevin was doing every possible Spider combo... Bees were 10K+
We're still finding cool stuff too & making new designer combos.

Oh yeah & Bananna/Coral Glows are still quite pricey, due in part to tricky genetics. The 1st SUPER of this lovely mutations was just produced this year!

It's just such a far cry from where it used to be. Recessives used to cost a whole lot, can't remember the figures for albinos when I got interested ten years ago, but it is a long way from the $300 I can pick one up for today. Same thing with the dirt cheap prices of a lot of the single gene co-dom males today. For under $100 I can get yb's, pastels and I'm sure at the end of the season spiders and mojaves if I tried hard enough. It used to be a good deal finding a healthy CB normal at that price 10 years ago.

Good and bad for the market in my opinion. It's so great that healthy, attractive, CB Balls are available at such an affordable price. I'm sure it makes moving the low end stuff easier if you can increase popularity so well. But at the same time, you really need to buy into a project early if you're doing this as a business.

More people breeding = more snakes. Largely supply & demand. I like it because more lovelies are @ the 100-500 mark which I think is not only reasonable, but its doable for more people. 10K snakes are VERY niche market animals IMHO- hard core breeders & collectors...

Now not all offspring of the popular morphs are equal. Feeding, growth rate coloration & markings still keeps be around most folks asking price because I'm picky. It does mean you have a wider choice of animals & still a great endeavor.

I remember I wanted a Clown soooooooooo bad!!!!!!! But there was no way in the world I couldve ever afforded one......... I think the first time I ever saw a Clown it was on Ks and like 10-15k that was when I was like 10 or 11 I think. Thats when I got My first ball and he is still with me today :) he's My baby

Deobra, I completely agree! I have a clown now, a 2012 baby and she's like the crown jewel in my collection. I wanted one so bad, it was my dream snake for years when I was growing up but there was never any possibility I could have afforded one.

When I saw my first morphs, albinos were still $5k, and pieds were $20k + depending on amount of white. I wanted those so bad, but no way to afford that much.

I now own 2 clowns 1.1 and they are both like the queen and king ofc My collection. Id say the only other snake that has a More sacred place in My heart is My first snake...... My 11th birthday present from My Mommy =) and that would make him almost 14 yrs old now <3 he is still My baby and one true love lol

I saw you have Sables & Enchi... so hope you do that project. But I can see why you like the Clowns... Have you seen the Pewter Clown? *sigh* Sooo hot!

I have my long term sights set on lesser enchi clowns. Enchi clowns and lesser clowns are both unreal, as are the enchi lessers. Sooo, leads me to believe the triple will be amazing. I just need 1 more clown and a lesser het clown male and it's game on. Hope to produce a lesser clown female and an enchi het clown female from completely unrelated parents the first year and then hit the triple a few years later.
