• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Mudpuppies (Necturus maculosus)

well mine will not eat i got it a bit earlier than expected. i have 3 goldfish in a 29 gallon aquarium with it that is only half full.

Give it time, they may not feed right off. Keep the light low, give them some hides to get into, and most importantly keep your temperatures low (under 70) and your filtration high. Cool, clean water is key.

Also there was a like circle of jelly floating in the water yesterday idk what it is. I tried to grab it but it slipped from between my fingers.

Probably sloughed its skin. Mud puppies and hellbenders both frequently slough if bothered or put into a new environment.

Goldfish are a kind of Carp.

Thiaminase is an enzyme, commonly found in a number of fresh water and saltwater fish and shellfish, which is capable of destroying Thiamine (vitamin B1). It is particularly found in the head and viscera.
* Fish which are reported to contain thiaminase include: all Cyprinidae (carp, rudd, roach, goldfish, tench, minnow etc.), smelt Osmerus spp., loach Misgurnus spp., bullhead Ameiurus spp., bream Abramis brama, herring Clupea harengus, dogfish Squalus spp. also possibly mackerel Scomber scombrus and whiting Gadus merlangus.

Some kinds of fish contain an enzyme called thiaminase, which breaks down Vitamin B1. Garter snakes fed an exclusive diet of these fish — such as some kinds of bait minnows, alewives, and other oily fish — can develop a Vitamin B1 deficiency. Symptoms include a loss of coordination and motor control as well as violent convulsions.

You might want to do more research on "thiaminase".

Does he have any hides? If not, sink a piece of plastic pipe in there for him. What temperature is the water? If it is too warm he won't feed. Lastly, you can try using crayfish. Put the crayfish in their own tank at 90 degrees for 48 hours before feeding, this will help them evacuate their bowels as well as kill Chytrid.
