    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hi,
I have an outdoor encloser for 4 female box turtles, 3 eastern and one 3 toed, that has a small pond that is there water source. I am thinking of enlarging the pond and moving my Female Reeve's turtle into that encloser. My Vet is not against it, but suggested I research the idea online first. I have been unable to find any information on keeping the 2 species together and my local zoo does keep box turtles and spotted turtle together. Does anyone have an opinion on this, or have any idea where I can go to research it further?

How large is the enclosure. I have an outdoor enclosure 40+ X 40+ feet with a 14ft X14ft X 5ft deep pond for the rescues we have had given to us. It houses 10 Western Ornates, 2 Three Toes, a Painted Turtle and a Yellow Mud Turtle. Thus far we have had no problems in two years. Even when the Western Boxies decide to swim across the pond the semi aquatic turtles do not seem to care.

My main concern is inter-species illness.
I did not know that the box turtles could swim a 5ft deep pond. The box turtle enclosure is fenced from a larger area witha a 10' by 10' by 3' pond for 2 RES as we are concerned with the box turtles drowing.
The enclosure is about 10' by 10', with a 4' by 2' pond. The pond is only 6" deep right now. It is about 18" to 24" deep and a bit longer and wider but filled with rock to provide shallow water for the 4 female box turtles in the enclosure, 3 eastern and 1 3-toed, all rescues. As I have now received 3 male Reeve's I wanted to move the female Reeve's from her enclosure and use it for the males by opening the pond back up. Her current enclosure is 10 by 6 with a 2 by 3 ft pond. My main concern is inter-species illness. I have had all the turtles over 3 years and all are healthy.
