In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

MY boa is much better...no more....

advice needed. Thank You sincerely to everyone who had input on this matter. I took her to my vet and he said it WAS a burn, not "bad husbandry  " as one suggested. He recommended I continue using the same over the counter cream for ...hemorrhoids..yeah.. I know..He said the results are the same or better than any meds he could prescribe. F.Y.I.she is a DH Sunglow at that and I would NEVER put her health in jeopardy for the sake of saving a buck. I will spend $750.00 on her, but not willing to drop a few dollars for a prescription??? Come on..Oh and by the way my daughter is a Vet. assistant for MY VET. so there was no office visit. If this sounds a little harsh, it is just directed towards the ones who came at me with their meat hooks exposed. Just the same thank you ALL again for your input and advice.

Sincerely,
Tony

I don't understand how....

mayonase can completely erase burn marks in wood either, but it does. I agree it sounds wierd, but it is what it is I guess.

Tony, you must be proud of your daughter, that is a good job. Maybe, someday, she might want to become a vet.

I'm glad your snake is better, and if you read around, you can find all sorts of helpful stuff here on the site.

You see, This is what I'm talking about. You come on here and emotionally vomit on me over something you know nothing about, THEN you come back last night and apologize for your remarks,THEN you come BACK on today and start taking cheap shots at me. Not sure what your trying to accomplish, but your only making yourself look sooo foolish. Everyone has seen you..ok? You have had your 15mins...we all know your here. If you crave attention THIS BADLY...you should probably contact Dr. Phil because I am TOTALLY convinced you have serious underlying issues. Either way this..again..is just "my opinion".
Tony

Thank You Lucille. I am very proud of her. I really appreciate kind remarks from genuinely good people such as yourself and Greg. Thanks again,
Tony

Monica, I found a place in her housing where she actually pushed through a small opening in the corner of a piece of screen used to hold her heat light and appearantly basked there for a while. By the time she realized she was burnt ,it was too late. She returned back to the floor of her habitat. This is really a "Theory", but a pretty accurate one I'm sure, according to my vet anyway. I have had over 120 snakes at one time before and have raised snakes for over 10 yrs and NEVER have had ANY problems with any of them until now. It is really unfortunate and I'm constantly reminded of this accident everytime I see her. FORTUNATELY, thanks to Gregs advice she is improving drastically. I had housed other snakes in there before with no problems and never noticed the small opening during routine maintenance. She had to have pushed it open to access that area.

That is a bummer Tony, boas can be quite the escape artists. After a few sheds, their will be little evidence of a burn. I would recommend lifting the heat lamp off the screen if you have not done so yet. It is known that snakes do not have the nerve endings that humans do, so they really do not know how hot is too hot sometimes. A simple over the counter treatment that works wonders is polysporin, it contains the ingredients as triple antibiotics that are readily available. I have used it for nose rubs and burns on rescued animals I have picked up. Good luck, and I am sure she will do just fine in the coming months.

Glad to hear she is doing better. Hope it all goes good from here on out. Burns don't usually heal the fastest in reptiles.

Perhaps something a bit stouter as a light guard? I use 1/4 mesh when I need/use lights. Don't know if it's applicable to this case, but something to consider.

Good luck
Rick
