    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I went to look for 1 of my female crested geckos today, and I could not find her at first. She sometimes hides well, so I started taking things out and when I found her she was directly under her laybox. But not just under it- she buried herself! then when I went to touch her she freaked out like I've never seen her do. She is housed with an adult male, because I want more babies. has this happened to anyone? Whats going on?? Any help would be appreciated!

Hopefully your female is over 35 grams as she is housed with an adult male. She is probably trying to lay eggs and you will want to leave her undisturbed. Either that or she is trying to get away from the male.

I have males that will dig and bury themselves in the substrate. So, sometimes they might just do it to do it :)

Yep, she is probably laying eggs or possibly hiding. When my girls lay eggs they bury themselves, with just their head sticking out of the ground.

Thank you for your input guys! You are awesome! Haha, yeah shes over 35 grams for sure. I am one of those reptile guys that knows his stuff, and is experienced, so no mistakes usually get made with housing my guys and gals. Actually, my scale broke just recently and i am getting my new one very soon, but last time she was weighed- 43 grams. shes a big girl, PLUS- I was pretty sure she was looking gravid and so that was what I thought about her burying herself too, but you never can ask too many questions, or know too much. Actually, I've heard of this burying thing alot more than you think. They do it when laying, hiding (but only in extreme dominance from male, and mines cool to her), and they just plain do it just to stay cool and moist sometimes too! Shes okay. i have never seen her freak like that, but I think i scared her cause she way fast asleep. WHAT I ACTUALLY DID WAS....I decided to replace the substrate (I sifted it too) with just paper towel, and left her laybox. Dont wanna loose and eggs on accident i'll just leave her be till tonight then! Thanks guys!

Hey that happened to me with my male actually he was hiding in the bedding and I touched him to get him out and he freaked out too but mine go in the substrate to shed sometimes and I think he was just about to and I didn't realize it until I had already startled him! OOPS!
