In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

My experience w/Rodent Pro

Just quit feeding the monster..You know and I know that you won't get anywhere with it.

Alan- I don't know what happened those two times, if you're telling the truth or if you're lying, but reiterating your story several times over is a waste of space. I believe it was someones signature on here that said something to the effect of, " If you can't improve the silence, don't say anything at all." Words to live by and advice that you so sorely need.

I'm gonna just save myself some time and pull an Alan here..

Alan, you say you complain through your wallet, yet, I bet your wallet would be much happier if you just took the time to contact RP and let them know, "hey, my order is wrong." Just throwing away 40 XXlarge rats just like that is just a waste... but hey, it's not my money you're wasting.. so obviously you're able to afford to lose such money. but yet you moan and complain about 2 transactions that went down with RodentPro. You post a picture of an order... with no information other than what was ordered. No tracking numbers, no ship dates.. nothing. So how is that suppose to validate your information/story? Post something to back your story up with..ie Orders with First, Last Name, City & State. Invoice Number, Tracking, Ship Date. We dont care about your credit card information or street Address.

Oh btw, learn some math.. an order that $158 does not equal $200-$300 whatsoever...

Oh and how do you know that dry ice wasnt packed in the box? Normally when dry ice "melts" it actually evaporates. Secondly, the issue with the 2nd package being late is NOT RODENT PRO'S FAULT. The fault lies with the carrier, Einstien.. so why are you blaming them for something they had no control over? Wow dude.. step off the short bus already.

The broken record posts are getting quite annoying. Having to read the same thing over and over again.. well lets just say I'd be surprised if anyone actually sat and read through the same cryass story 6 or 7 times.

This board is open to ALL critiques...

I call themlike I see them and when I get ripped off for rats or anything I will post.

If you can handle that...too bad.

When I find a rodent distributor that provides decent service for my hard earned money, I will report this too my fellow consumer as well.

If you are childish and cant take someone speaking out about some buddy you go to the herp show with too bad...get your own post buddy.

This one is mine..
Okay, I've been quiet about this one long enough...

I'm not prepared to label you as a troll, since a troll posts solely to elicit a specific reaction. In your case, it seems to be something entirely different that's motivated you to act the way you do.

Alan, you seriously need to consider spending some of that hard earned money on a few visits with a psychiatrist. All you've done thus far is demonstrate the perils of dealing with the mentally unstable. Yes, Alan, you have indeed demonstrated beyond a reasonable doubt that you are at least suffering from some sort of neurosis. The secondary paranoid delusions have me a bit concerned that you may be on the borderline of some sort of psychosis. Seriously, get some help, because you have demonstrated a need for it.

Now it's time for a reality check...

Looking at RodentPro's website and comparing it to others in the industry, their rats tend to run larger. For example, what the Mouse Factory has listed as large on their site directly corresponds to what RodentPro has designated as medium. Furthermore, they have a 100 gram spread on what they consider to be a "large" rat. In this regard, I would surmise that the faux pas was on your end, and not theirs.

As for your allegation that they gave you "the leftover stuff" because you were a small time purchaser, nothing could be more more contradicted by logic and common sense. At the prices that they are selling rodents for, the profit margin per animal is not going to be anything spectacular. What you are alleging is that RodentPro sold you rodents at a substantial loss to themselves because you are a low volume purchaser. Sorry, but it's just not plausible.

Likewise, your assertion that the second order was packed with no dry ice is refuted by the simple fact that you stated the rodents arrived partially frozen. Had they been packed with no dry ice, as you claim, they would have arrived already putrefied. Based on your description, I can assure you that what happened is that the order was indeed packed with dry ice, which sublimes (changes from a solid to a gas) at a temperature of -109.3 degrees Fahrenheit. Dry ice is so named because carbon dioxide leave no moisture as it sublimes. Two plus two equates to four, no matter which way you look at it, Alan. Warm temperatures and a delayed shipment are going to cause sublimation of the dry ice. It's simple physics. Like it or not, the principles of thermodynamics are going to win out every time.

Finally, your claims regarding a vast conspiracy to circle the wagons and defend RodentPro are also contradicted by historical fact. There have been instances of well-respected members of the community being ruthlessly taken to task for their indiscretions. The actual reason you've elicited the response you have, Alan, is not because anyone's trying to circle the wagons. Instead, it is because you demonstrated that you were an unreasonable person. Letting a seller know that rodents might have been too large for your needs or that dry ice sublimed during a delayed shipment is not "micro-managing" your order. Rather, it's being a reasonable adult and using your words- something that's normally learned in preschool.

The other day I decided to share MY OWN PERSONAL experiences I have had buying rats from a very large rodent supplier. It was my hope that I could provide substantive information in addition to what is already available and this would help the average customer make the correct decision about where to spend his/her hard earned cash.

I recanted my two horrendous experiences (2 for 2) when purchasing rats from Rodent Pro. I then encouraged anyone who is thinking about buying rodents (from any supplier) to read and take into account not only my ordeal, but to also read as many viewpoints as they can find before spending their money.

I stick by what I wrote, which was completely true.

Moreover, the fact that this post, which was intended only to help inform and assist others, was met with the visceral reaction it received, from a small faction of "sellars" should stand as a stark reminder to we consumers to watch not only the large outfits with the big ads, but to track individual people and web-based businesses when it comes time to spend our money.

Unfortunately, it is a reality that there is a small yet very active group of "sellers" on here that feel threatened by any comments that have potential of hurting their bottom line. This clique of "sellers" will band together in an attempt to shout down and discredit people who challenge the way business is done. You can tell just from this thread that they are buddy, buddy and clearly on first name basis with one another. They speak of their little secret lists and "black-ball" techniques. They know each other from shows and events and seem to have real trouble dealing with criticism or unpleasant facts that might affect their money making ambitions.

Notice in the excerpt from a previous post which is attached below, how angry Griz gets when kbmxc seems to be disagreeing with the mob. Even though kbmxc isn't even really agreeing with me, and he is just saying that I have a right to explain what happened to me, this is too much for Griz and kbmxc had to be put in his place....

Also, just in this one post alone, Griz refers to this person from Rodent Pro "Casey", who he claims he never met and has no idea who the person is, by first name twice in just this one post alone..??

The hypocrisy is amazing. These few "insiders" repeatedly refer to me as a liar because I do not choose to post where I live, but never mention most of them do not post home location.

I am not selling anything so where I live is not germane to the facts of anything.

I ask you this however.....

Would you trust anyone that feels the need to lie and put their home address as: stickinthemud, BOI, arcane spice mines, Greasy Lake, In Your Mind, Lost in the Garden of Eden, etc.. to sell you ANYTHING, let alone a very expensive snake where you the customer is required to pre-pay before you receive your item?

I can only speak for myself when I say that I will be cross referencing all these names, fake names, and anything else I can find to existing websites on Fauna, KS and elsewhere and I will be eliminating any business that has someone that feels they need to use an alias from the people I do business with.

With this said, I have made my decision and I will be ordering from Colorado Rockey Mountain Rodents. A nice family business that seems capable of getting the correct rats AND the ice in the box and get it delivered on time as well.

Fingers Crossed!!

I will report back soon.

Just for the record, I do know Casey because I pick up my rats in person. He's a good guy but if he screwed me or another customer you had better believe I would hold his feet to the fire.

So, Einstein, show the board where I stated I don't know Casey? Never once stated that. Also, for the record, I still don't believe that you bought anything from them. I think your a plant for one of the other suppliers and I personally believe you're nothing but a liar who likes to use an online thesaurus in a rather feeble attempt to make yourself look intelligent. Guess what? You've failed!

You failed to provide any substantive information. Rather, what you have posted amount to nothing more than the irrational ramblings of someone with a very loose grasp on reality and a dire need for psychiatric intervention.

I recanted my two horrendous experiences (2 for 2) when purchasing rats from Rodent Pro. I then encouraged anyone who is thinking about buying rodents (from any supplier) to read and take into account not only my ordeal, but to also read as many viewpoints as they can find before spending their money.
There was no ordeal, other than that which you fabricated for yourself. As posted earlier, your own claims refute themselves.

I stick by what I wrote, which was completely true.
As I have already stated and demonstrated, your own claims contradict themselves. Therefore, what you have posted is obvioously not the truth.

Once again, you need to seek psychiatric assistance.

Your paranoid delusions are based on nothing of substance, Alan. Like a little child, you seem to want to blame everyone else for your problems but yourself. Seriously, seek some help from a mental health professional.

Notice in the excerpt from a previous post which is attached below, how angry Griz gets when kbmxc seems to be disagreeing with the mob. Alan, the topic of where you live has become an issue because we happen to have an international member base here, so when someone who claims to be from Italy says they had a bad transaction with a rodent supplier from the U.S., it's going to raise some eyebrows. If you don't like that fact, then change your locaition or leave it blank.

I can only speak for myself when I say that I will be cross referencing all these names, fake names, and anything else I can find to existing websites on Fauna, KS and elsewhere and I will be eliminating any business that has someone that feels they need to use an alias from the people I do business with.
At this point, I feel sorry for any business unlucky enough to deal with you. You've proven yourself to have a rather loose grasp on reality and an unreasonable demeanor.

With this said, I have made my decision and I will be ordering from Colorado Rockey Mountain Rodents. A nice family business that seems capable of getting the correct rats AND the ice in the box and get it delivered on time as well.
Again, you need to seek help soon, as the ability to function rationally seems to have bid you a fond farewell. It's been awhile since I've seen someone so bad off, but it is still just as sad. To begin with, I doubt you were given the wrong rats, More plausible, as I have illustrated earlier, is that you failed to research the product. The definition of large is subjective, and varies from person to person. This is why each vendor that I am aware of lists lengths and weights. A large from one company is not necessarily going to be the same size as a large from another. Your own words also demonstrate conclusively that the rodents were indeed packed with dry ice, so quit with the embellishment already- it only makes you look worse than you already do. Thirdly, I don't know if you realize this- but no company has control over a delivery carrier's schedule or delays.

Fingers Crossed!!

I will report back soon.
Hopefully to say that you're seeking treatment that you need.

The good news..

Griz, I am coming around to your way of thinking.

Its funny, you think there is a vast right wing rodent distributor conspiracy, and your held up as the voice of reason?

It would be refreshing to think that one can expect impartiality and insult free commentary, but I guess moderating yourself is the hardest thing to do in the end...

At least it's obvious.

What are you going to do?

The good new is that there is always places to get the truth out and thats the way it is sometimes.

At the end of the day, when you silence everyone that disagrees with you, you only have yourself to listen to.

Think about it.

Alan: You owe Rodent Pro an appology for not contacting them to let them try and fix the orders. I feel this is the main issue of this post. That is why this post is on going, People here just want to see you understand that you need to contact the vendor first. There is an order that should be followed for complaints. And makeing a bad boy report is the last one on the list.
I do not know anyone on this list. I have one snake and it was given to me. And I can attest from the online orders that I have made that one vendors large rat is not
nessasarily another vendors large rat.
I hope that in the future that when mistakes happen that you let the vendor have a chance to fix the problem first.
Shrap did ask a question that you did not answer. What have you been feeding your
snakes since you threw away the last order and have not ordered anymore since?

I just ordered from Rodentpro 30 min. ago.I am a repeat customer.Outstanding service, outstanding product. This thread(or any other for that matter)would never hesitate me from ordering from them.Always top notch!

My order that I received this week came in fine. I first saw the size of the quail and thought that they ahd sent me the wrong ones. So FIRST, I check my order info and see that I ahd ordered week old instead of day old. If I had ordered day old, but received differently, I would have then contacted them to work it out. Based on what they did, I might have come to fauna to post on it. Staying mute, and psoting on teh BOI is not an option IMO.

To the person that said their Rats were cut in half:
I did have this experience. But it was my fault.
It was with some mice I bought at the local pet store.
When thawed they appeared cut in half. But I found
out that they were kinda stuck together in their frozen
state and when I pried them apart they broke in half.
As far as I know Rodent pro uses a CO2 chamber for
euthanasia so there would be no need to cut them in half.
It is a gross thing to happen and my snake did not eat them.
But the Cat loved them. LOL
