    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Here is my whole experience with Sunshine Dragons that states all true facts and none of these are lies. Well after doing my research online and reading for countless hours on getting a bearded dragon i decided it was time to get a dragon. I had been looking through the internet for a good breeder and decided that i couldnt really decide if i wanted one untill i see the dragons in person so i decided i should goto a reptile show. I decided to goto a reptile show and pick out a dragon. I attended the last reptile show at the Valley Forge Convention Center on September 3rd. I saw a few bearded dragon breeders from mystical dragons, sunshine dragons, and buckscounty bearded dragons. After looking around for at least a hour i decided i was going to go with sunshine dragons. This was due to talking to Lauren a very smart lady with dragons and i have heard about Sunshine Dragons from a previous breeder who my friend attained a very nice dragon from Crossfire Dragons. So i picked out a very nice dragon that was bigger then all the rest and had some very nice colors. I paid 140 dollars for this dragon which was a big payment for me. My girlfriend thought i was crazy spending that much money on a dragon hahah. Well i brought this dragon home and and absolutly loved him. I had all the things i need for him the Reptisun 10.0 uvb and basking temps were how they were supposed to be. I had been feeding lobster roaches and dubias because i got away from crickets because i heard they carried pinworms and roaches were just more filling. Well after about 3 weeks i decided to take my dragon into the vet because i heard that was the right thing to do to wait because sometimes stress can cause problems. Well since i didnt know any vets around my area i got in contact with lauren at sunshine dragons and asked who they took their dragons to. She informed me that she used Dr. Madzy at Delaware Animal hospital. So i put the address into my mapquest and found that it was 1hr and 50 mintues away. But i decided that wasnt too far for me to give my dragon the best. So i took him to the vet. The Vet loved him and at first thought everything was fine until i got the stool sample back. He had pinworms and coccidia and i was given panacur and albon to take away the pinworms and coccida. I was kinda disappointed because i didnt know how he could have these parasites when i didnt feed crickets and i kept his cage veryyy clean. So when i got home i started his panacur treatment but decided to wait on the albon because i had heard that dragons have small levels of coccida naturally. So i asked around what i should do about if i should treat with albon on such a young dragon. Lauren said that she wasnt positive how old the dragon actually was but believe he was about 3months old and from the BLAZEXSTORM but the dragons got mixed up on the trip to the show she wasnt completely positive. So i was told that with excess cleaning of the dragons poo and maybe even investing in a steam cleaner i could lower the levels of coccidia naturally. So i decide that is what i would do. I went out to Wal-Mart and bout myself at 40 dollar steam cleaner and everytime he pooped i would steam clean the area. I then took him back to the dragon to see if the levels went down. However the pinworms were gone but he said that the coccidia levels were one higher which was 4plus. Now after that first treating of Pinworms my dragon was acting alright and eating. Then he started to decrease his appetite until he was only eating a few roaches every now and then and no greens at all. It had me worried i had been in contact with a few people asking what they would do. And with a level of 4plus coccidia it really shouldnt be to much of a problem alot of people dont treat until the levels are higher. So i began to wonder why my dragon who i have had for about 2months not positive anymore how long i had him for was not growing just kinda hit a wall and was at that wall for sometime. Throughout the time i had the dragon he only gained a little weight which i thought was uncommon because in alot of books they said the first few months they grow a huge percent and eat 3 times a day at least 100 crixs throughout day which my dragon wasnt any where near eating that much. I then was on the interent in a few forums when i came across a article by Wendy Thomas from Neverland Dragons telling her story about adeno and how horrible it was to her hatchlings. Im sorry Wendy. However after hearing that i became aware of this virus and wanted to know more. I then came across hearing that Sunshine Dragons was selling positive dragons. It then made me start to think could i have bought one of these dragons. I thought to myself nooo my dragon couldnt be positive but i got in contact with Lou Ann Miller who coul do the testing. However she was getting ready to go on vacation so i couldnt have the test done for about 10 days. So i decided i would contact Lauren at sunshine dragons however it came to my attention that Lauren wasnt there it was just Bruce. I wrote {Hey Lauren i picked up a dragon from you at the reptile show at philly. I was wondering if your blazexstorm have had any of the adenovirus because i have heard alot of the dragons have had some problems with the adenovirus i am thinking on sending his sample away been acting weird every now and then what do you think DREW } This was on OCTOBER 25th and i recieved back a long email starting with SunshineDragons...A Breeders Choice
Sunshinedragons Initial findings On Adenovirus

This email was very long and didnt even answer my first question and after doing more research i came across a article at Reptile Rooms that stated that the information in the email was false and not stated but misunderstood or misinterpreted information. I wrote back the information that i found to Sunshine Dragons on the information i found stateing that this mass email was false. I then recieved another mass email and started to wonder what is going on why am i getting these mass emails of all sorts of colors and random information that didnt answer my first question.

I then wrote this to him
{I had been speaking with lauren for a few weeks before she left the business about how the health of my dragon is doing i bought him from you guys at the valley forge show on september 3rd. He is still doing the same as before only eating a little bit if at all. Hasnt gained much of any weight. I am writing you this email in regards to if you can give me any type of refund because i have paid more money on vet fees for this reptile then what i spent on him which was 140 dollars. He was bigger then all the dragons in the clutch and was supposed to be a hold back. Let me know what you can work out because i have read alot of posts and his cross has tested positive for adeno DREw }

He Replied

Drew,

First and foremost we would work with you on any Dragon should there be an issue. Our record, passion and follow up on our pets is second to none.

Secondly those post are rumors his cross never tested positive for Adeno, Never. The best bet would be if we could talk possibly tomorrow, so we know the details, and we will certainly work with you. with live animals we expect unfortunately that some issues may arise.

Third and most important we feel badly for both you and the Dragon to have to struggle with health issues. When your excited about something, and then it doesn't evolve the way you hope there is the disappointment we do our best to avoid.

We have been very fortunate of having very few.

Nevertheless we would be only kidding ourselves to think that we would have none.

Regards

We then began emailing back in forth and we came up with the deal of him refunding my money and he would take all precautions in haveing the dragon tested. He worked very hard and even asked what i thought was fair for him to refund me which i told him to forget the vet bills i just wanted the money i paid for the dragon and then him to see what was wrong with the dragon. We meet up at the Valley Forge Convention cent which is about 1hr away for both of us. He took back the dragon and wrote a check for 150 dollars which he post dated at least 1.5 week and half im not even positive anymore how long the check was post dated for but well over 1week i think it was a total of 10 days. Well i waited it out as he told me it was because his funds didnt hit till then. I waited till that day but missed the back and couldnt go to the bank on the sunday so i went on monday. Then i recieved a email after the check had been cashed that said
{Drew,

We apologize. Due to the holidays and crossing of checks, your check may have been returned. the funds are in the bank. Please redeposit. If you remember You asked for a refund of $140 and we gave you $150.

If this doesn't cover any bank charges let us know and we will reimburse you the difference.

what did you name your dragon. We are going to keep him after test are done. We would probably keep his name.

Again we apologize for the mishap. Murphy's law with you.

Regards}

I then replied telling him that the check did cash and that i recieved the money. He then said that the check may come back and that it did. I recieved a call from my bank that my account went into over draft for 150 dollars and right away i knew what that was. So i called them up and they said that the check bounced and i was charged another 10 bucks for this. I was very heated then and i wrote a email back to Bruce telling him sure enough the check did bounce. I wrote back about the check bouncing and how we needed to have this sorted out ASAP which was November 29th. He called me and i told him that i only wanted cash no mor checks or banks so he said he could meet me at 3:30 at the Valley Forge Convention center. Well i was there at 3:30 and waited and waited and waited for over 3 hours until i saw any money. When i got in contact with Bruce he said he was lost you dont know how many times i was thinking about just driving away but i need that money for school bills. I waited so long a cop pulled up and even shinned his light in my car asking me if i was alright. Well when Bruce finally got there he did pay me a large sum of money he gave me 260 dollars CASH. He only owed me 160 dollars. The only question is what do you think your time is worth. That extra 100 dollars can help pay for the 2 vet visits i guess however those prices are a little more. You be the judge of my situation. DREW

WOW!!!

For future reference, if you could please use paragraphs so that it is easier to read? I have a headache...

I am not quite sure if that money was hush money or not, but it was a good thing that they did for you.

I would never do buisness with them personally, but you seemed to end out somewhat okay after all of that.

I'm so sorry that you had to go through that, Drew. I know having a sick pet is exhausting and worrisome, for you to have to give the animal back must have been heartbreaking. For what ever it's worth, I think you did the right thing.
Waiting for three hours was wrong but be glad he showed up at all.
It's sad that he's still selling/giving out beardies, even though I'm pretty sure he has no idea which ones are infected and which ones aren't. I hope you did a thorough job in disinfecting the enclosure!
