GREAT you are seeing lots of new roach babies now. It just takes some time. How are the temps doing in there now? Did you get it all under control?
Yeah it is getting time for Toby to start filling out. Once his head starts getting wider he will have a more mature look to him.

I can't wait! He's getting restless in his cage again. I took him out for a bit last night before bed. He seemed to be happy with that. ;D

Temps. are under control finally. I'm hoping to keep them that way for some time. :D

He's in his bigger tank now. I mean, hopefully I can go WAY bigger in the future, but the one he is in now works perfect. :D Plenty of room to climb and move about.

The roaches are also doing very well. Lots of babies....and eating like pigs. heh

A couple I threw into his cage have managed to elude him by hiding under his rocks, food dish or logs. *sigh* He'll get them eventually. :D
 
he is so cute....I got one a couple days ago to, the first day I saw him eat a few crickets and he hasnt eaten anything since, what should I do???

Great there are tons of babies, that is super. So some have hidden under his tank decor, was he able to get them? I hope he doesn't starve.
Oh that is right you did move him to the larger tank. I am sure that one day you will put him in a gigantic tank! LOL

New babies often go through what you call a relocation stress when they are shipped to a new home.
If you would like, we can run over your tank setup to ensure that you have everything all setup properly for him, such as temps, & lighting, etc.

I got my baby bd about a week ago, the first day I saw him eat 2 small crickets, and nothing since. I have tried shredded carrots, meal worms, waxworms and even more crickets, he seems to be sleeping alot. The humidity in my tank is 55 and the temp is 90. If I handle him he sits in my hand then he might start to walk but mostly just sits there with his eyes closed. I am worried that there is something wrong. Any ideas????

Hello,

What type & brand of UVB light are you using? How close is it to your dragon & what type of basking light are you using? If there is not enough bright light in the tank, he will be lethargic as well.
What are you using to measure the temps with? A stick on type of thermometer, a digital probe or a temp gun? If you are using a stick on type of thermometer, your temps will be off.
You will need to try to get that humidity down to 40% or so, & the basking temps are recommended at 95-110 & the cool end around 78-82. What size of tank are you using?
What type of substrate?
We don't usually recommend mealies very often for babies, as they are too fatty & they can cause impactions as well due to their hard outer shell. The waxies are ok, but only for treats once or so per week. Too much fat can't be digested very well especially by babies.
The best choices for veggies & greens are collard greens, mustard greens, dandelion greens, endive & escarole. A variety of squash, green beans, peas & bell peppers are good for starters, & carrots can be used a few times per week. Fruit should be used sparingly, twice per week. Stay away from citrus though. The best fruits are a variety of berries, papaya & mango.

I ended up taking the baby bd back to where I got him and they said he was sick, they are taking him to the vet and getting him on antibiotics, they gave me a healthy one instead. I hated to switch like that but honestly where it was my first bd I dont know enough on how to care for a sick one from the start. Still learning as I go along. The new one is very active, I got him yesterday and he was running around, ate 4 small crickets and a wax worm. He is very alert. I am going to try to fiure out how to attach a pic. and send it
 
Hey congrats. on the new baby! Sorry the first one was sick.

We are headed back up to the pet store today, Toby, of course, is riding with us to pick out some fish. Harmony is fully potty-trained (during the day) and we promised that if she did it, she could have a fish. :D Our apartment is turning into a REAL ZOO!

So, weight and measurements. I weighed and measured him on the 2nd, and he came out to 18 inches long still (with his tail, hasn't exactly gotten any longer :( ) and he weighs 289 grams :D

My new bd is doing really good, he has been eating crickets and wax worms, he is very alert, havent been able to handle him much because he runs around when I try to touch him, but thats ok, at least I know he isnt sick. Thank you Tracie for your help.
 
She got a guppy, a platy, 2 of some other fish (one was pregnant and ended up dropping 10 babies after we got her home, unsure if ANY of them lived) And she also picked out 2 baby fish, not sure which kind, that they didn't charge us for because they were small and weren't counted with their inventory. So WHOO HOO!

Within the next month I'll be making another trip up to the pet store to get Toby a new UVB light. It's about time for his to be changed again.

I went to feed him yesterday, and found a bunch of roaches HIDING under his food dish. So I took his food dish out, now they are hiding under this half log thing he has, and they scurry in front of him, wait just until he's about ready to snap and scurry back off. I think it frustrates him that he can't get them. But he's gotten so lazy, he needs to hunt for his food a bit. ha

Yeah, it is about time to change Toby's light. Do not get the Reptiglo 10, stick with the Reptisun 10 ok? Every 6 or so months it's time for a new one.
Really, roaches were hiding under his food dish? He is getting lazy just like most of the adults do. They want the food to come straight in front of them before they will strike at it! LOL

He's starting to "chase" his food around. Not much, but least he's getting more than a couple at a time.

No, she didn't get a puppy, one of the fish were a GUPPY! :p I hope to get a puppy one day though. There is this place right across from us coming up for rent, and I'm thinking he MIGHT let in other animals, so if we can get it, and he allows non-caged animals, I'm getting a puppy. :D

I actually had a roach get loose the other day. I went to flick him off the rock and into Toby's cage, but instead of going into the cage, he went onto my floor. Luckily those things are easily caught. haha

That is good Toby will chase them a little bit anyway & that he is catching them. Oh you had to chase down a loose one the other day too, did you catch it I hope?
Oh so the place you rent now wont allow dogs or cats? Maybe the other place will, that would be nice. Plus it is closeby too.
How is Toby's weight is he filing out now?

One day we will get a puppy. I can't wait.

We didn't get the other place. :( Somebody was already lined up for it. A friend, or relative of the landlord over there. My aunt, however, says that the house right next to her, is going to be going up for sale sometime. The lady who lived there died back in January, and her husband has just gone into an assisted living program. She's not sure how long before it goes up, but she said it would be. Then, I will get me a dog.

Well, I have to go clean out Toby's cage now, and also figure out a way to clean the roach cage without vacuuming them up. :D
 
Oh, a snake will shortly be added to our zoo. I HATE snakes, hubby wants one, so I told him if he got a snake, the only way I would swear not to kill it on purpose, is if I could have another bearded dragon, or another tattoo. Of course, he opted for the tattoo, not what I was expecting, but oh well. :D
