In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Okay so i'm gonna try and breed my female leopard gecko this breeding season. I am borrowing a male from a local guy here in exchange for half of whatever hatches. But i am wondering if my incubator set-up will be okay. i am thinking of just doing a styrofoam cooler with some water in the bottom and a fish tank heater and putting like a brick or something that will hold the eggs above the water. would that work? I was thinking about it and thought that it might be too much humidity or something. Any help would be appreciated.

Help

Before you start worrying about all of this humidity and temperature stuff. Take some time to just relax and take a deep breath. You always have to remember that Leopard geckos are 1 of the easiest among all reptiles to breed. What you will need to successfully hatch out your geckos is
Styrofoam cooler
1 or 2 bricks ( must be able to set the egg container on them without being in the warm water )
a closed container with 2 very small holes on each side of the egg container
1 digital thermometer that will tell you Temp. and humidity . This way you will know if it gets to hot or to cool and if it gets to dry or to moist.
Make sure that it stays around 82 degrees f if you want female leopard geckos or 89 degrees if you want all male Leopard geckos.
Occasionaly open the container to let fresh air in usually 1 to 2 times a week every week until hatching occurs.
Make sure that water does not drip on top of the eggs so that they do not develop mold.
Make sure when the eggs are laid that you keep them in the exact same position they were laid as you carry them gently from the egg laying container to your incubator.
You will need to fill a deli cup up to about 3/4 of the way full of peat moss / perilite/ or vermiculite. all 3 of these hold very good moisture.
make sure you mark the top of the egg with a line from a sharpie so if your egg ever gets turned over you can quickly see which side is supposed to be turned upwards. After about 1 to 2 weeks you can gently pick the egg up and hold it over a flashlight in a dark room. If you see red veins through the egg then that means your egg is firtile and alive. If you see browness or no veins your egg is most likely infertile but please do not throw the egg away because some eggs like that have been known to hatch.
If the eggs in the container deflate. you should spray the inside of the container with some warm water and add about 1 to 2 small drips of water on top of the egg. Then check back every 3 to 4 hours to see if it inflated back to its original form.
Try not to pick up the eggs too often 1 time is enough 2 is risky and 3 could be fatal. just be patient and let nature take its course.

I hope this helped and if you have any further questions or if there was something I didnt cover please let me know. Good Luck!! Let me know if everything turns out well for you!!
