In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

i dont know why my mice wont breed i have one male to 3 females for almost a month and no babies!! i do hold the mice on oocasion could that be stressing them ou so they dont breed? :shrug01:  :(

I added kitten chow(the cheap kind)to their regular food and mine became breeding nuts!! :) No idea if this will help but it is something someone told me and it seemed to help. Good luck! Hope you have some babies soon!

It is too early to expect babies. They usually take some time to "settle" in and begin to breed. Then it takes approx. 4 weeks of gestation before having babies. All that is assuming they were old enough to breed to begin with. So relax, it will happen eventually. :)

is it OK to hold them(mice not the babies) and what do you do with the babies do you keep them with the mother? and sparate them from the others?

just dry kitten food, any brand. They seem to love it too. No idea if it really worked but I had waited quite some time and as soon as I added it to their diet I had prego mommy's. I still use reg mice chow but add this to the diet while breeding.

I keep the breeding group together at all times, you will find the other mom's and the dad will help out with the babies. I don't hold any of my breeders, my girlfriend will open the tubs from time to time and "pet" them.

I keep my mice families together too...they really do help each other. And I never held mine but my daughters friends would come over and pet the mice because they were afraid if the snakes  .

thanks for the tips! now i hear them chewing the kitten food all day and all night! :)

LOL oops, sorry :) ...but at least we know they are eating :lick: and will stay fat and happy for you! Hopefully they also have some babies real soon :D !

:iagree:  :D thanks again! and to anyone else reading this im always wanting to hear more tips!

I agree

I agree with Barbie. I feed mine nothing but dog chow. I have to take my females out every cycle to give them a break. Dog and cat food are more packed with more proteins and vitams than normal feed. wish ya best of luck.

No process needed, though I do like to take the air out of the baggie I use. It keeps them fresher, and helps prevent freezer burn which can alter the taste to the snake. Let them get to about the required size you need, then put them in an air tight bag or container, and freeze away.

By 'process' - did you mean euthanizing the babies, or how to freeze them once they are dead? For humane euthanasia, most people use CO2 to 'gas' mice and rats. You need a plastic tub and a CO2 tank, and fittings to fill the tub with CO2 (CO2 is available at paintball stores and other places). With CO2, the feeders doze off (become unconscious) and then die from lack of oxygen and probably don't feel any pain at all.

Some people just suffocate feeders, or freeze them directly, or break their necks (neck-breaking is probably one of the fastest ways if done right).

Ignore all this if your questions was freezing-only :)

Using a CO2 canister and such costs more then what some want to pay and can be a pain to get together, there is another way that works well and costs less. Use dry ice in an air tight container, place in the rodents and you are done. If an air tight container is not available, use tape to seal the container.

As dry ice evaporates it releases carbon dioxide, putting your mice to sleep.
