    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Whaddup all, i recently was given my third and biggest BP. It was given to the people who had him before me because his first owner was going to jail for like 12 years. He or she has some scars on it so i think its first owner may have not been as responsible as one should be. But it shed sometime before i got it and he looks done except his eyes are still that real opaque grayish blue. Could his eyes just be cloudy? or maybe had a bad shed that was never addressed? Any insight is appreciated thanks!
 
Sounds like retained eyecaps. Try to remove them as soon as possible.
Put the snake in a bag with a towel that is wet from warm water and mist the snakes head. Leave it overnight in the bag in the cage.
If that doesn't do it, try some tweezers and gently remove the eyecaps.
 
Unfortunately, there is no way we can tell you with any degree of certainty what is going on without seeing the snake...or at least a good (close) clear picture of the eyes.

You say it shed "sometime" before you got it - any chance it is beginning another shed cycle? It COULD be a new shed, retained caps, or physical damage. There's just no way of knowing based on what you've given us so far.
FWIW, I'd make sure there are retained caps before going in with tweezers; and if you aren't, don't.

Different perspectives, Steve.
I've seen a snake after the keeper tried to remove retained caps that weren't there (the eyes were just a bit crinkled due to dry conditions. I don't know if it was permanent - I just saw it after the injury - but I heard they were still cloudy & blue/grey 6 months later.)
 
Well, thanks for the replys. Im gonna try to find out when he actually did shed last. Cuz his head kinda has that going in to shed look, but id hate to be wrong and have him be blinded or something. Ill try the bag thing. Its old water dish was about a spread hand round and an inch deep, and when i gave him a tuppaware big enough for him with warm water he stayed in there for at least 30 minutes. Im really hoping this is nothing serious. Ill try to post pictures but as of now all i got is a a webcam to take digital pictures so... Thanks again!!
 
Also ive been looking at his stomach the entire thing is like a yellow belly except its red instead of yellow. Anyone know of red bellies? Is this a sign of illness or maybe a new morph? i noticed it on a part of him and today checked his whole stomach and it goes from end to end. Any thoughts on this as well?
 
Alright i guess he didnt shed right before i got him, that skin musta been in there a while. Cuz i just took him out and found a big ol skin next to him with his eyes lookin much better! Thanks to all who posted though ill definetly remember those in case i need it. Thanks again!
