In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

My New Buddy

OMG Chad...

Chad...you read my mind...I was about to post something like that. You are completely right...people often advertise geckos to be Super Hypo Tangerine Carrot Tail, and it is imposible to see the Tangerine bands because there are none...so...it is not to make the SHCT less beautiful or important than the SHTCT, but people should name them correctly in order to avoid missunderstandings.

Explanation...

People usually misslabel or missname super hypo carrot tails. Let me show u some pictures...i will also provide some explanation between pics, so read below please...

This is what i call Super Hypo Carrot Tail Baldy. Her body color is bright yellow, and as you can see there are no bands.

carroty2.jpg

This is what i call a Tangerine...She has nice body color, and nice orange spots...but it is not a super hypo, neither a carrot tail. Easy to see the tangerine bands in this one.

This is also a Super Hypo Carrot Tail baldy with a decent amount of carrot tail in the tail; still no tangerine bands.

This is a Super Hypo Tangerine Carrot Tail baldy. He has not spots in the body, well less than 3 for the proper definition, so he is consider a Super Hypo...he also lacks of spots in the head, therefore he is consider a baldy as well, and as you can see the color in the body is not uniform, it goes with bands...orange-greenish/orange...and so on. Also, notice in the nose an orange line that goes from the nose hole to the eyelid; that is also a sign of tangerine presence.

Well, hopefully i have explained myself.

To me the difference is Clear.

I can most always tell the difference between a SHTCT and a SHCT. Like with any crossing you get animals that display the desired traits to varying degrees. To me the picture I am including in this post represents very well what I am talking about. The top animal was produced by crossing Tangerine lines into the Ray Hine line of Super Hypo. The bottom animal is a Pure Ray Hine line SHCT. Let me know what you think.

Chad...put a warning man...

Chad...come on man, i am almost blind now...too much orange. They are awesome, and it is true...they do display the difference.

thanks for the input. how would you define this gecko then. he certainly is a baldy super hypo, but i gurantee he has no ray hine's blood in him; yet there is carrot marking.
this is what i consider a pure tangerine.

Super Hypo Tangerine Carrot Tail baldy. Nice coloration... What line? I would say Super Hypo (i do see some kind of spots but the pic is a lil blurry, so i dunno)...

Well

First of all I would say Awesome,Stunning,Fantastic. Thats an awesome Gecko. I would say Super Hypo Tangerine Carrot Tail. But I would like to ask how you know for certain that animal doesn't have Ray Hine influence somewhere along the way? At first glance I would say thats Urbans stock and if I am not mistaken I know for fact Craig used Ray Hine lines from the beginning.

and this baby next to a hine's female. he is a cross, but are you guys considering these a tangerine super hypo carrot. this photo is old and the carrot is more pronounced now, with no spotting at the base of the tail.
he is by the definition a super hyo tangerine carrot cross; i guess my point is when does it become a tangerine super hypo carrot tail and not just a cross. after 1, 2 or even more inbreedings

that gecko is a bill brant offspring from a few years ago. i do work with craigs animals as well, and from knowing craig fairly well, i would say a lot of his stock is brant x hines. the animals that nieve's(spelling) worked with are before my time, so i will not assume to say it is from his line.
the animal in the first photo i will photo in a little for you. you will not believe the level of spotting that came to him after his first years breeding. his entire head is now completely spotted as well as several on his back.
howard

yeah...

Incredible how they can change their colors sometimes after breeding... but wow, from being a baldy (i think youwere referring to the baldy one...right) to get spots and alot of them...wow...

Hey...

Howard...I see you live in Tampa..are you going to the West Palm Beach Show next weekend, june 19th??? I am going to have a table there...and i want to get some feedback from people that have assisted or know something about that show...you know to see what to expect...

i better take back the "i know for fact part", when i purchased these ray and bill were very tight. My urban prize male actually never made it. he was the only gecko i have had die as an adult(my fault entirely).

ok...meaning...

Howard...so what is your inclination about what line that gecko proceeds from...?

here he is at about 2 years, maybe closer to 3. he is definately not a baldy or a carrot or spotless on his back. i thought for sure he had the co-dom form of hypo as well( from that old baby photo). if he is a cross, then i am in total error of his origin. the female next to him is from the same father crossed with a dominant hine's carrot and the female with the head cut off is craig's. craig's animals have that cherry look to them. sorry for the vermiculite everwhere; i made a mess when i opened their lid.

I produced Nitro

From animals with Albey,Ray Hine and Golden Gecko bloodlines in them. She is the one in the pic I posted comparing Ray HIne to Tangerine Carrot tail crosses. I have 6 hatchlings from her that I plan to work into some More Tangerine. I have had some hatch out that have that almost reddish look to them where the bands or darker markings are. I have yet to have one stay that way. I think when you get that dark more melanin eventually comes into play alot of the times. Just my 2 cents.
