    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I made this literally out of things I already had that I was not using.
It has been holding stable temps for about four days. This will be used for incubating for males. I will be putting it to work tonight or tommorrow. Should have the next wave of eggs by then. What do you all think. If I had to add it all up total cost = about $45. Give or take. I've had some of these items for a long time. Like the cooler.

Very cool Jeremy! I like it. I probably will be making something similiar.

dude i need a good incbator so bad, I have about 5 hobibators that suck! they are so small, and in about 4 month Im going to have 30-40 tortoise eggs! and as of right now im barely getting my bills paid so i cant drop 400 on an incubator. but i would hate to make something crazy my self and have it not work right.

what did you use as a heating element ?

That is really neat looking! Luckily, my hovabators work great for the Leos. I am not crafty at all!

Thanks for the comments. Heat is supplied by a single 12 inch long 3 inch wide piece of heat tape. I have the heat tape plugged into a lamp dimmer. The light does add some heat (it's a flourescent though so not too much) so that small amout of heat tape is all that is needed. I will be adding a Johnsons thermostat to make sure the temps stay put. I do think that you could just use the dimmer if your room temp stays constant.

Dude, you ruined a perfectly good brewsky cooler! I believe thats called Alcohol Abuse! But on the positive side it made for a fine looking incubator! How has temp flux been in it?

Now that is a great ideal. Did you use plexiglass in the front? What type of sealer did you use to hold in place? Creative solution.

Gene, in my house my beer is allowed in the fridge. The temps are plus or minus a degree with the thermostat. Without it plus or minus 2. I need the thermostat here in the midwest. In other parts of the country or in house with stable temps you may not. I used 3/16 plexi for the window. One piece inside and one out making a double pane window. I used 100% silicone to seal it.
