Never trust a guarantee from a guy (or girl...we really still don't know) who can't spell it. She should be able to make an informed decision after reading this thread. I know what I would do. Once she receives a box from you she will be out of luck with Paypal regardless of what is inside.

Yes infact a shipping date has been agreed upon. I have the emails we exchanges as im sure she does as well. With the agreed upon date as well as her full shipping details she sent me today. Again. It will be shipped to her as agreed.

Post a picture of yourself holding a piece of paper with today's date on it and the words "Fauna BOI". That should eliminate any doubt as to who you are. I have little doubt you will avoid doing this.

Yes. Shipping is set for Tuesday, May 2nd. The delay from date of purchase was due to cold weather on my end. I have six months to file PayPal claim, if necessary, so I'm not concerned with the timeframe at this point.

If I don't receive the animal in the photo, or if it's not healthy, as advertised, then of course, I will initiate a dispute with PayPal.

I did mention to Amy, that allegations of using photos not belonging to her is concerning to me. She indicated that it's a misunderstanding, and I didn't press for details.

While I certainly don't condone using photos belonging to other people, I'm going to wait until I receive the snake I bought, and go from there.

that's not true. she can file item not as described or something else. they will refund the money.

PP has been so hit or miss with involving themselves in live animal shipping. I personally got burned on a "brick" that was shipped to me on an eBay purchase prior to their push for buyer protection. Even had an unboxing video, that neither eBay or PP would look at at the time.

Obviously things have changed a lot since then, but I know personally I'd be hitting abort on this purchase ASAP and count my blessings that weather was poor. Her / his failure to comply with identification. And documented flip flop between being the BF would sketch the living crap out of me. But to each their own.

You are correct, Joe. That rant was from a person who had already cracked. The day after that post, he was arrested as seen in the newspaper article.

I would agree with this as well. She at some point appears to have had involvement with snakes. Prior to their supposed break up? He could have easily been sitting on pictures of her with some snakes.

And if you rotate that photo, you see the reflection of a man who may look vaguely familiar.

Not just stolen pictures. Stolen DOB and weights as well. This was not a case of simply stealing pictures in lieu of taking their own. Looking through Myrtle Herp ads it appears for a while "he/she" is trying to sell off actual snakes in their possession. Then about half way through it appears that wasn't enough and they totally flip to using stolen information/pictures instead.

TBH I would pull the plug right now and be working with PP

I, too, would consider undoing the deal to be the most prudent choice here. Even if the potential for fulfillment of the order might have some chance. Feels like gambling.

I greatly appreciate everyone's input, and thank you all for taking the time to do the in-depth research you've done.

Admittedly, I did not read this entire thread last night. I was tired, and had a particularly unsatisfying day!

I'm going to thoroughly read through everything, and decide what to do today. This transaction was over $800, so I need to have a better understanding of what happened.

I did just notice that the email I sent payment to is different than the email we've been communicating through, which is [email protected]. Not a huge issue, as some people use a specific email for payments, but interesting nonetheless.
