    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Well I aranged a trade with mike roe of mystic herps for a 10 lot of beardies a brazilian rainbow boa and a crested gecko for 2.2 group of het boas..

After about a week or so of who will ship first i decided i would give him a chance to make a good deal to try and make up for some of his last, i even said i'd report on here that we had a good deal.. well

he rushed me to have the shipment to him by fri of last week, and he said he'd also ship asap which he did not.. he should of shipped on fri for sat and then did not.. so i simply told him "lets get it together" and that i had every intention to go to iowa and pick up my original herps and make a report with all of the necassary people.. he told me not to over react he'd made a simple mistake (like it was his first time not shipping).. and he'd ship after lunch on mon..
thats when he later recontacts me to let me know he shipped and gave me a tracking number..

I thought for sure it was a fake, but no i did get a shipment this morning, of my boas.. they were porely packaged and just thrown in the box.. all were cold and stresses, now the thing is I am wondering if these are even my boas.. these seem smaller and darker than the stock we sent out.. so he either decided against ripping me off to avoid more problems or he did get over on me and i don't even know it yet!!!

At any rate at least i ended up with something unlike some of you.. if you r thinking of giving this guy a second chance don't he's had more times than one to change and has not yet..

The boas that i shipped out were 50 %pos hets.. he never shipped the beardeds and things to me, i shipped to 3156 68th street urvandale iowa. m.roe signed for the boas
 
Did you have pictures of the Boas before you sent them? If you do I would compare the pictures to the animals you received back from him. The animals shipped back could very well be different animals than what you shipped and photo documentation is the only way you can prove it.

If they are the returned boas why would you post them for sale 8 min after this post if you were not sure they are the 50% hets you had sent out?

The way Mike Roe does business is to scam you, hang on to your money or critters, then only return them when you turn the heat on him. And he only returns when he has had a chance to scam someone else to get the money he returns to you. My guess is that those are someone else's snakes he scammed...

He finally sent my refund and I received it today. He had said he would refund the money and my cost to overnight it but he only refunded the cashier's check amount. I cashed the money order he sent, we'll see if it is real or not.

Mike's original company name was Animal Island. Mystic Herps is a real company but with Matt out of Montanta (or another M state can't remember) who has no association with Mike and his partner in crime wife, Mandi Roe. Mike also tried to do business as Capital City. Be wary of anyone doing business out of Iowa that only takes money orders or cashiers checks(his paypal was shut down because of all the scamming).

I did not take pics and that was the main reason i agreed to ship 1st, upon arrival of the snakes they were real stressed and dark and I can't be sure if there the same ones or not. I posted them for sale again as they originally were. with plans of explaining all of the details to future buyers as they inquire further.. and also priced them at 75 ea which is around the price of a normal. the original deal with mr roe i was asking 100 ea in cash or trade value.. at any rate u r correct there is no proof that he sent back diffrent snakes it was just a possibility.. i will exam the snakes further in a day or so (when they stresslevel drops) and compare them to the stock in which i kept back.. thanks and again i apologize for any confusion..

I am in Southern Missouri (nixa to be exact) and in no way associated with The Mystic Herps in Iowa.

I noticed that alfonso from extreme reptiles if i am not mistaken has posted here as well. I have purchased animals from him years ago for resale actually.

I just hate seeing the name Mystic Herps being slammed, even if its not MY Mystic Herps.

I have not done any serious business for several years ( since i bought a mortage actually) but do plan on running with it in the future as my breeders come of age.

The actual name of my business as far as the state of Missouri is concerned is Mystic Herpetological "Mystic Herps " for short.

All in all i think i saw this Mike at a reptile show in Kansas City, or St Louis. One of those shows about a year ago. I mentioned it to my friend that was with me that he was using the same name.

I didnt think anything of it at the time, but as it seems i should have spoken with him about it then.

If anyone can give me an E mail or business address on him, i would appreciate it, so i can see what legal rights i have against him, if any.

I dont come to this forum regularly, and have only recently been told about it because of these issues, so please E mail me directly at [email protected]

mike just ripped another person off for the group of Blizzards he was advertising.....You would think after getting his hand slapped he would knock it off......
If anyone lives near him go kick his a$$ please.....
 
I believe I've just been scammed...

I just "won" one of his auctions on Reptibid.com for a brazilian rainbow boa. At first he was real friendlly and told me how much I was going to love this snake and how beautiful it was. He would only take money orders, imagine that, and I sent one. He was supposed to ship the snake today, however when I wrote him and asked for the delivery time or tracking number he wrote me back and said that his father had had a heart attack and that he would be gone for a few days - that's it! I am guessing that I will never see this "beautiful" snake, and that it probably doesn't even exist. His Email address now is [email protected] in case anyone else is still trying to get what they got scammed for back. I also have is mailing address in case anyone needs it...

Notify Detective Taylor Immediately

at [email protected] and tell him how you're being jerked around. If you do NOT do this I can pretty much guarantee you will never see your money again. Take it from Shannan and myself that if not for Detective Taylor we would not have received refunds. In my case I just received it today which amounted to $535. As I suspected we were most likely paid off with your money and all of the others at Reptibid that don't have a clue they have been scammed. I'd be willing to bet if you went and checked with everyone that "won" Mike Roe's closed auctions you'd find that nobody has received any animals.
This guy should be behind bars instead of having his peepee wacked over and over again. Do yourself a favor and don't waste any time. If you haven't done so already, contact the detective if you want to see your money again. He needs to know this problem is ongoing and by no means over.

Det Taylor helped a bunch of us get our money back. You aren't the first person Mike has scammed within the last few days....I'll email the Detective as well...but email him yourself too! Good Luck....
Oh and Mike's family, on both sides, has tons of heart attacks and strokes.....and he always has an excuse to not ship...or something go tlost in the mail.....don't for a second, believe his crap......or his loser wife's either.....nail his a$$.....call your local police as well and get them in touch with the Detective....
 
Why would Reptibid not just kick him off their site? If they don't care about scammers, we can all help each other out by making fictitious high bids on all his auctions so no one will get hurt; if Reptibid gets upset at that perhaps they can do something themselves about this guy?
 
We need to know what screen name he is using.....I am looking through there now trying to figure it out....

mysticherps1 I believe he used the 1 designation so people would not be able to find any information on his bad guy posts here at Fauna. Anyone doing a search would be thrown off because to the computer msticherps is a whole different animal than mysticherps1. Do a search under closed auctions and you'll likely find 100% scammed people. Ritchie was the one that posted all of the "winners" names before at one of the other threads.
 
I found mysticherps1, all the auctions are closed. It looks like they were shut down by reptibid though. Some only lasted a day or two then report as closed but it doesn't say why....I am wondering if he set up under a new name.....or if I am just not reading them right...

Reptibid, if you complain loudly enough, will do something.

We had someone who was purposely buying out all of our auctions and then leaving horrible feedback after a very small issue that he refused to settle.

I complained to Reptibid, and they gave their usual "blah blah can't do anything about it" answer.. So I emailed them back like I Do Not Care about the Feedback - I just want you to do something about this guy! I can't sell my animals because of him!

Believe it or not, Reptibid CALLED me after that email and we discussed the whole thing, and they kicked this guy's IP Address off Reptibid and wiped our feedback slate clean (unfortunately, they also took off our Good feedback. AH well No one's perfect I guess?!?)


As for contacting the scammed Reptibid bidders.. Try looking up their profiles on Reptibid and emailing them??

This must have been the same brazilian that i was supposed to be getting.. he even sent me pics. I am glad he sent me my snakes back because i was all set to go and pay him a visit this weekend.. this person sounds like a imature child who needs some attention. i hope we can all get together somehow and stop these games!!
