    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Mythical Dragonz - Stay Away!

Yep. I have a 504 (New Orleans) number, and I've lived in New Mexico, Florida, Ohio and Indiana with it. Just because you get a phone in one area doesn't mean you have to change the number to fit the area code as you move along.

Here is the one thing that I do know for sure. I got a call from a lady from the number listed on the supposed card. I have no way of proving it was Lea. For all I know that was Nicole on the other end. I already had my suspicions that the document was fake and it would be real easy to put her own phone number down and pretend to be someone else.

My thoughts exactly! I have two cell phones, one is my main personal one, which is a Maryland based #. Then the other is my work cell phone, which my work owns and guess what? It is an out of state #. It is very easy to carry cell phone #'s across states. I kept my Maryland based # when I moved to FL a few years ago, and now that I am back in MD, I still have the same #. Nothing had to change. I would not put that past Nicole Norton at all. As soon as I saw that "perfect" letter with card, I said "no way". I am too sticking to my guy feeling with it. It is not hard to make a card up in photo-shop or really any paint program, or any kind of letter program, then to get some one to scribble some ink down on a piece of paper.

Tonight when I got home from work I have an email waiting on me from the addy listed on the business card. That addy also cooresponds to one I found online on petfinder for the reptile rescue

All of this is well and good but it boils down to 2 things. First off being that the new TOS states that any type of refund or satisfaction can become null and void if the buyer, mike takes the dragon to a vet before notifying the seller, nicole or steven. However imho if the buyer notifies you in any form that the dragon appears to be sick you cannot leave out the possibility of taking it to a vet even for a circumstantial check up.

they remain firm in their decision not to honor any type of gratification and they will looked down upon for it. if you were to do a search there is only 1 good guy thread out of about a dozen altogether. every time i read any bad guy threads concerning anyone that nicole has worked with, yes it is quite obvious that she changes her TOS to suit her current predicament.

If we go back and look at when the pics of the clean tanks were posted it is 2 days before that person wrote that letter obviously giving them time to get everything cleaned and have their ducks in a row. now that can just be me being cynical. if however that is the case all of this hustle and bustle could have been avoided if they took care of mike in the beginning.

quite frankly this will never go away, not because it is in the BOI but because every now and then someone will read it and put in their 2 cents if it suits them bringing this back to the top where even more people will read it. not that steven and nicole really care how this reflects upon them.

That may be true... but I just report the truth. Whether I like it or not, Im honest to a fault. I got a call and an email from the contact info provided. I have to assume its legit until something pops up to prove it otherwise. Thus that is what I reported.

I agree that Nicole and Steven should have taken care of thier customer. But then again we all know that Nicole has lousy ethics. From what I have seen thus far I can only conclude that Steven has those same ethics. Otherwise he would have said that Nicole was ruining his business name and did what was right.

What was the old saying.... Two birds of a feather... flock together. :shrug01:

Of course we all should. we can only give people the benefit of the doubt until we get to know them and know their true colors.

of course we know that this isn't going to be fixed by them. if anything all his is going to get is an insincere apology.

Ummmm wrong. I was informed by the lady I talked to on the phone that it was written on a blank white piece of paper. Thus that is what is really throwing me off about it. There are no staples holding the card to the paper and I dont see any evidence of tape across it either. :shrug01:
 
Hello to everyone out there, My name is Lea Chase with Reptile Rescue of Erie, Pa. I offered to write a short letter/note to whom ever it may concern, for Nicole in New York. I know her through dealings in saving repitles in NY, she is my contact person for that area, and had been to her place of business to pick up animals and things there looked great to me. At the time of these messages that were going back and forth, I had just learned that Nicoles dragons are at times shipped out to many different states and I thought her problems were in the state of New York alone. So I'm sorry for any misunderstandings on my part. Thank you for your time, Lea Chase.

You know many people would probably take their new animals to a vet as a standard practice, a well visit if you will. People do it with dogs, cats and birds, why not herps? Especially as the cost for some rivals other pet animals and the fact that reptile medicine has improved greatly.

When I got into reptiles it was difficult to find a vet who knew anything about herps, that is not the case anymore.

What if I buy a dragon, take it in for a well visit and my vet finds problems?

I can check fecals myself but a lot of people aren't nerdy enough to have their own microscopes, how else do they know if there is an internal parasite problem if they don't contact a vet?

That clause in their TOS bothers me. That clause bothers me in anyone's TOS.

Reptiles are hardwired to fake health right up until they are so sick they don't have the strength. Animals that are not 100% get eaten. Not every condition is easy to see to an untrained eye. If you send me a sick animal I have zero confidence you can help me diagnose the problem over the phone.

That clause alone is enough to keep me from buying something off just about anyone unless I can put my hands on the animal first. The assumption of risk is just too great IMO.

Actually many herp books I read, the recommend you bring your new herp to a vet right after you get it.

I also said that earlier, that reptiles (along with cats, birds, and rodents) won't show outward signs of illness immediately. But by the time they do show it, its usually too late. So if my herp is showing signs of illness, its going to a vet immediately.

And I agree, I won't be buying any dragons from them. Between Nicole's nasty comments and that clause.
 
Steven and Nicole, how many customers have you lost over not doing the right thing here?? I know we've heard from a couple, but I wonder how many others there are that would've done business with you, but silently slipped away because they didn't want to get screwed!

I'm still awaiting a simple response and I will go away. All I want is proof of Mike demanding that you ship in temps that were too cold to honor your guarantee. I can only assume that you don't have any proof, that he never demanded such action, and that you're just spewing lies to cover your own butt. About sum it up??

exactly what makes this so annoying and worrying. we all know nicole has a habit of not replying to people when mistakes happen so she can stick her fingers in her ears and say, i didn't hear you i didn't hear you.

from all of that what i have come to the conclusion is i am not going to buy from her or anyone she is "with". if i were to do that and be anal about recording everything including e-mails i sent her besides backing them all up, right up to a check up with the vet so no one can say thats not the right dragon, it was never sick, you never told me, blah blah blah, if things turned out with a problem that is. i am afraid that they are going to twist things up even with all that hard evidence and what not. again, this is all hypothetical based on how they are acting and their apathy.

that situation is never going to happen because many more people have much more attractive bearded dragons with brilliant colors. if someone did decide to risk buying from her i would recommend recording EVERYTHING just in case.
 
If anyone buys from her... they are just helping to keep someone with crappy ethics and morals in business. Why would you want to do that. Keep the good guys in business!
 
i was talking hypothetical. anything is possible in the realm of the hypothetical, hell nicole might come out and say i am sorry here is the refund and please keep the dragon.

we know that is not going to happen just like i am not going to buy from her nor would most people who have read this thread.
 
To all, I spoke to Nicole about changing the time frame of guarantee on animals, though I am a rescue, not making money on the animals that get adopted, I still guarantee the health of them for at least 3 days even after that I will and have taken back an animals that became sick in about a weeks time, because some of the animals showed no symptoms of any illness, and all of the animals that come through here see the vet as soon as I can get the first available appointment with the vet that specializes in exotic reptiles. most times I get the animal that is already sick or injured. But I also have to say that I know nothing about mailing animals and how they fair in the whole process, that is something that I wouldn't do myself, call me old schooled, I prefer hands on. Just had to say that, thanks for hearing me out, Lea Chase/Reptile Rescue.
