In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Name your poison....

Cadbury creme eggs.

those are so good! I'm glad they are usually only out once a year, I say usually because yesterday they had some at safeway!

I'm about half way through my box of cheez-its right now.

I also have very fond memories of the best filet mignon I've ever had which was from Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, on a plate with sizzling butter

I don't drink like I used to, but when I do, I prefer Boddingtons on tap. Rather hard to find however

this thread is making me hungry.
calls for more cheez-its

Good bourbon is awesome as well, Harald. It would be a sin and a shame to let that 23 yr old go to waste. If I'm not mistaken, they don't get better as they sit in the bottle. I'd save it for a special occasion, sit back and enjoy.

Chris

I never was much inclined to eat nearly raw meat....

Seriously, I guess it's because as a kid, I asked WHY we cooked meat in the first place. Well, I guess the answer to that question made a BIG impression on me.....

I'm actually pretty good at not guzzling soda at the moment, but I used to be flat-out addicted to Fanta. Orange and strawberry, it was all I ever drank back then. :no01:

Right now I need to lay off the deserts or at least switch over to healthier ones like fruit... At the moment it's all brownies and cookies fresh out of the oven. :reddevil: It doesn't help that Christmas is coming up and everyone's gifting me sweets!

The other killer would be "instant comfort food" like those Marie Callender frozen dinners. They're so convient for when I'm too lazy to cook, but just so fattening. :ack2:

Just wondering Harald - are you asking this because you're thinking of New Year's resolutions coming up?
Anyone here swearing off their "poisons"? :)

I tried that once upon a time and I think it lasted a whole month. Exercise I can do, that's fun IMO, but not diet. No way, no how! :p

wow!!! Seems we all have so much more in common than just reptiles!

This thread is FULL of yummies!! now... I have to go to the store and stock up on munchies! geez LOL

Clams done any way. raw, steamers, casino, stuffed, chowder and dip.

Living at the shore there is an endless supply, all I need to do is grab a clam rake a basket and walk into a bay or crick then start raking them up. a good outing is a few hundred succulent fresh salty clams.

Yuengling ahh Yuengling!!

Not at all.
I don't generally bother with NY's resolutions...if I do, it is not something so specific as swearing off a particular poison. I might go with trying to eat healthier, exercise more, or even the simple goal directed plan of losing some weight which pretty much encompasses both of those (it's only been the past few years that I've had to consider that...I've put on about 20 lbs since the damn tick took out my knee).
While I enjoy an occasional drink, I don't actually consume a lot of alcohol...especially now that I've moved toward drinking better stuff, and taking it neat. Don't get me wrong - I still enjoy tossing back a few mixed drinks over dinner out with the gf; or making a very occasional night of it with friends from work - but I see no reason, nor do I have any desire, to give it up. If it becomes necessary for health reasons, I'll just stop drinking...that would be a whole lot easier than giving up Dr Pepper, lol. Hell, giving up alcohol wouldn't even phase me. Dr Pepper is an ADDICTION.

I smoke ... cigarettes are poison enough that I don't have any other real "addictions". I do like a nice Jameson's to meld wicked day to mellow night, but it's not something I can't live without. Don't do much snacking either.

I do love some good hot wings - I could eat those a couple times a week. I also have a thing for milk. Go through at least 2 gallons a week. Chocolate syrup's a definite plus for a great glass of ice-cold milk.

My teenaged son has a Dr. P addiction too. Won't drink any other soft drink. Fortunately, he loves milk and orange juice too, so I can cut off his Pepper and subsitute it with OJ.

There ya go! I don't see a reason for you to give it up either really. Everything in moderation and all that, doesn't sound like it's a problem for you. :yesnod: Personally I quickly dropped my one-time diet resolution because it no longer seemed worth it. It reached the point where instead of feeling proud after I turned down something deliciously bad for me, I started to feel bummed. I could go without, but I don't have any pressing medical reason and I like eating that stuff. Doctor says I'm healthy, might as well enjoy life while I am! :p

But man, there's nothing like an injury or bad illness to bring you down. Once you're knocked off your feet for a time, it's so hard to get back. :( I hear you on that.

Diets and crap never really made much sense to me. You are going to die sooner or later anyway, so why not die from something that you LIKE? :D

Hell I'd rather die tomorrow from eating a dozen steamed blue crabs than to live 50 more years only being able to eat tofu.

The weird thing for me is that I can absolutely do without Dr Pepper at home....rarely even think about it (unless I know it's here, that is). It's while I'm at work that it is hard to resist the urge.

omg!!! Pizza is my Fav food group!! I could almost live on the stuff.. as long as there is a steak or roast thrown in once on awhile :)

marinated steak on the grill is another yummy for me

I smoke cigs. Fav. brand is Camel's Silvers (Menthol). I smoke a pack every two days but to make up for that I drink around 4 liters of Mtn dew Voltage, Code Red or regular every night at work plus when I get home.

On Friday after work (7am), me and the gang usually go to the bar and I like to drink my fav. beer... Budlight. I don't drink enough to get me drunk but enough to relax and to feel good.

That pretty much sums it up for me.

4 liters of Mountain Dew every night??? Holy :censored:
Between the sugar, caffeine, and the need to pee after drinking that much, how the heck do you sleep??

Believe it or not, I sleep fine. Or maybe not. I think I actually might have some type of problem. For ex... if I go to sleep around 9 in the morning, I won't wake up until 8 or 9 at night. I can sleep 10 to 12 hours without waking up to eat or pee. I can sleep 4 hours and I am tired. I can sleep for 8 hours and I am tired. I can sleep for 12 hours and I am still tired.

I think it is 3rd shift that makes me so tired but I am not really sure. I don't know or it could be the fact that for the last 4 months my shortest week at work has been 60 hours?? Maybe that is it.
