In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hey everyone, thankyou for all the supports in the past month, especially Marcia, who had given me LOTS of suggestions on how to get Nana back to health. Its just 1 month since the surgery and her incision wound is healing unbelievably well.

This was taken about 3 days after the surgery, it looks rather messy with all the dried blood and stitches:

Here is a pic after her first shed (12 days after surgery), it looks even more messy with the skin and tissue glue around her wound. 5-6 days after this, she managed to pull out all the remaining skin plus the stitches; fortunately, her wound didn't open up...

Here is a pic after her second shed (another 2 weeks later), I didn't help her at all, its amazing how fast geckos can recover:

Nana started eating on her own a week ago, but she is only eating 1-2 medium/large cricket per day (in fact, she lost 1g last week). I might switch her to mealworm and supers so she can put on more weight.

Hah, never knew there was such a thing as leopard gecko surgery.. What did she need it for? Impaction or something? Glad to know someone is willing to go through all of that for there pet.. -RZ

That is an amazing recover! She is lucky she didn't open it up pulling the stitches out in that shed. She seems great and has a HUGE tail.

What happend to her in the first place? I missed it.

Considering everything she's been through, I don't think 1 gram is bad at all. Just take a look at that tail! She's got a long way to go before she's in trouble! Keep up the good work.

oh wow thats great news you must be relieved. how much was the procedure in the end?(my little stripe red tail cost me over $500 but i would have felt like crap if i hadnt)

Yay!!!

Great news, Bonnie! I'm glad she's revovering so well... it won't be long until she is back to normal. Thanks for keeping us posted on her progress!

The whole thing cost around $1600HKD (that's about $200-220 USD). My vet is very nice, he didn't charge me any consultation fees (one before and one after the surgery); if he did, that'll probably cost an extra $80 USD.

Nana had a surgery because she had problems producing eggs (not egg bound), I don't know what the proper medical term is; but her egg follicals became very large and prevented her from swallowing anything, including her own shed.

I'm so glad she is doing so well for you.She looks great. Not bad at all after all she has been through...That is one very very lucky gecko.

i cant remember, did they remove both egg follicles? not that youd breed her again after what you/she went through.
