    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Nathan.......I was just trying to clarify things....I hadn't seen the original ad until now.

I just read what was typed so far and saw the difference in the size/weight of the third turtle.

I hope that things work out in this instance, whether there be fault to apply or not.

Darin....I've owned ally snappers.....and will agree that they are a handful.....but you've got to leave all options open for the time being seeing as nobody is standing up and claiming responsibility for the lost turtle..........it's just a theory, afterall, and hasn't been proven, much like the other theories in this deal.

You could absolutely be right on this. I wasn't trying to talk down your theory at all. I just get a sick feeling when a box is too small to fit all of the animals that are supposed to be in it.

Could you maybe put the two turtles and the couch cushion all back in the container, take a picture, and then post it here so we all can see what it is to which you are referring? Even if the cushion is gone, a pic of the container with the turts would be somewhat helpful, I think.
 
the snapper b grade was 12lb it was in the add and someone else just posted it here aswell so how about that.21+20+12=53+rubbermaid and padding .guys how much does foam cushion wiegh?you guys all seem like such smart detectives!it sounds even to me.the question about the box was very helpful to me thanks to whoever came up with that the airx wanted their logo on the outside with their labels showing i did not see them put it in the box they measured my rubbermaid and pulled a folded box out pertaining to the size of mine so they could place it in they then took it to be wieghed.it was a dry shipment not wet at all but i like the way nathan comes up with new lies everyday.when he told me someone from airx stole it i laughed at him the average person is not just picking up an alligator snapper that size without prior handling experience,so i agree with you thereaswell.iam glad everyone is giving so much feedback on this matter i thought i got suckered on a internet scam but the points you guys bring up help me more to validate the truth.and nathan please stop trying to suck up so hard to the moderator its pathetic!if you dont like my typing dont read it!

Okay he says the whole package weighed 56lbs, its really 50lbs but lets just say it is 56LBS. He is up to 53Lbs already just in turtles....okay now everyones got a couch cushion and everyone knows they weigh more than 5lbs, OH WAIT the ""foam"" on the inside of the couch cushion. Now we are up to 58 LBS now add the 2 lbs of newspaper and 2 lb rubbermade container....62LBS!!

Not only is he being sarcastic and imature towards me, now he is being this way towards you all. This guy SHOULD BE KICKED OFF! I have all email addresses of people who have bought from me and everyone of them will vouch for me. I have never had any problems what so ever with anyone! Well except for this GUY!

Someone needs to provide proof of the documented weight of the package. 56 pounds sounds about right to me but 50 pounds would be impossible.
 
Well I have the air bill. When you check the tracking number online it says the package weighed 65lbs but thats just the standard weight for the size of package it was, not the actual weight. Airborne express has a bad habbit of changing the weight to the standard size of package to get more money out of people, I have already had the weight changed back to 50Lbs which it says on the actual airbill I recieved with the package. If anyone has gone through Airborne express they probably know what I am talking about.

If anyone will do this I will take your address and send you a copy of the airbill. And then you can post telling everyone the truth about the weight. My email is [email protected]

I hope someone does, so this can be resolved.

i don't meen to play devils advocate too much.....but I would like a couple questions answered by both parties....ok, just hear me out. I'm not a detective at all, I'm not insulted by anyones posts, and I don't think that anyone should be banned from this site because of a disagreement......

Peter.......you state that there were 3 turtles in the box when you had it shipped.

Can you say for 100% certainty that there were 3 turtles in the container when Nathan received it?

(mind you this isn't SHOULD there have been 3......Can you honestly say that you know for a FACT that there were 3 turtles?)

Nathan. You state that there were only 2 turtles in the container when you received it.

Can you say with 100% certainty that Peter did not put 3 turtles into the container?

(mind you, the weight of the package is irrelevent to this line of questioning. the weight might be off.......but we're all estimating the weights of such things as couch cushions and ubbermaid containers.....Can you say for a FACT that you know that Peter only put 2 turtles in the container?)

I would bet that the answers to both of these questions is no.....I mean how could you be certain of these things. I'm affraid that there may not be any way of actually PROVING to 100% certainty that either of these gentlemen are 100% correct.

I do not doubt either mans situation and story. I am siding with nobody here.......this may just be an unfortunate circumstance.

Just for the record, I am NOT a moderator or anything else but a participant of this website. I did NOT threaten to delete your post, as I cannot do that. I was only trying to help you keep from getting your post deleted, because a person who CAN delete it WILL do so if/when they see this thread. It is one of the rules that you post your full name. I don't know who is in the right here, and don't care, just didn't want your post deleted before you got whatever you wanted to get out of posting it.

I think it was stated that the box was opened at the ariborne office and there were only two turtles in it. If this is true, then there is no doubt that when it was delivered, screwed shut if I recall correctly, there were only the two, not three, turtles in it.

At first Yes I thought he did ship 3 and that Airborne express had stolen it out. But after I compared weights and several lying emails I added it all up and there is no way he shipped that third 20lb snapper. But at first I belived him but now I see what he is doing. Also before he shipped I told him (and I have a copy of the email) telling him Do NOT put Live Turtle or Live Animal on the tub because it attracts to much attention and someone may get curious and open it. Just put This side up and Fragile. I think when I told him that he got this IDEA! I have a few people that I am sending a actual copy of the airbill to there home address and they will post it up, I don't have a scanner. Than everyone will see you are lying peter.

I am 100% positive that he did NOT ship that turtle and his lying emails and weights do NOT add up. There was no room for the 3rd turtle, no way enough room. I thought airborne put the cushion in there to replace the turtle but No, Peter confirmed that he put the cushion in there. Then I knew that he didn't ship it because No room and the weight of the package with the packing and 2 turtles was 50lbs. Just what it was when it was checked in at the station he took it to. Now hes telling you guys its 56lbs and I don't know where hes getting that because mine clearly says 50. Probably reads as good as he types!

BurmGirl don't worry about this guy, he likes to insult peoples intrests to get a rise out of them.

it was not stated that the box was opened at the depot nathan said when it was delivered to him he opened it in front of the delivery man and then there were only 2 turtles.wow i like delivery guys who come in your house wait for you to unscrew a rubbermaid and see whats inside that sounds really true!and now that he finally states air x has problems with thier wieghts its because they just give all boxes of certain sizesthe same wieghts another wow are you crazy!!!!!after he says that now hes done talking !!!great timing,whats the matter people starting to see the truth now you dont want to waste your time,before you said you wanted to clear your name what happened?

there is no question where the 3rd turtle is its in nathans house wait awhile till this dies down he will put it up for sale.
the person who asked can i say %100 that he got 3 turtles beyond a doubt is right i cant otherwise i would have my money already but you made a good piont thanks.
1 more thing for tonight what foam wieghs 5lbs its cushion not dumbells.

when you ship expensive exotic turtles like alligator snappers you put live animal on the box it also lets the delivery service be extra cautios with the package and give it more care i love my turtles so i do it for added safety.i dont care how you asked me to label it they were mine and i will put thier safety first.i guess maybe i care too much !

First off your attacks on others are out of line. BurmGirl never once said anything wrong to you or anything in a bad fashion. You lashed out at her like a little child does when they are not getting their way and are still acting that way. She was trying to help so that your post were not deleted. In case you are unaware the rules of this site are clear. You must have a full name on your post otherwise they can be deleted. She more than likely did not notice your name in the upper right corner and wanted to help you so your post would not get deleted. I would suggest that you learn a little self control and respect for others and treat them way you would like to be treated.
As for the Delivery person waiting around while he opens the box, that happens quite often. I have had them stand here while I open boxes for a witness as well. The entire story does not add up. Proof needs to be posted for both parties. The story of Airborne making you purchase a box for $25 is a little outrageous. I have purchased MANY boxes from them and they are no where near $25ea for any of the sizes. Even the largest box they had was only $3ea. Also if you were so concerned with the well being of the Turtles why did you ship them in such a poor fashion. Shipping them in a container like a rubbermaid with no insulation is not a good way of shipping them.
 
Maybe I missed something but right at the top of this page Nathan says something to the effect of there no way he could put another 20 pound snapper in there. If I am reading something wrong I am sorry but if I am reading it right then that is to say that the 21 and 12 pound snappers were what is in there right? If so I would just like to know how we go from 33 pounds of turtles to 56 or even 50 pounds of total wieght? 17 to 23 pounds of packaging? I dont know what it is and I am not pointing any fingers to anyone but something isnt right with those numbers.

The turtles weights are more than what he says they are but not by much maybe 3-4lbs each heavier but yes he had about 10-12lbs in packing and the tub. And he didn't listen to me about putting "Fragle" insead of "Live turtle" anyone who buys turtles or reptiles knows that is a big NO, why because imature people that work at the shipping companies get a kick out of messing with the packages. like throughing them, turning them upside ect... Its a known fact by most reptile buyers. It wouldn't make a difference if it was live turtle or Fragile either way the will treat the package the same, LIVE TURTLE just atracts more attention. It doesn't make any difference anyway because either way LIVE "Turtle" Or "Fragile" you still didn't ship that 3rd turtle PETER and you know it!

OH HEY GUESS WHAT PETER?? SOMEONE JUST PROOVED YOU LIED ABOUT THE BOXING! $3 and $25, big difference!

I have an Airborne account and the driver has stayed and watched to see what I had in the boxes when I opened them. As a matter of fact, I got a Rodent Pro delivery today and the driver wanted to see how they packaged the items. He had never seen froxen feeders in ziplog bags wrapped in dry ice. So to say that it is a lie about the driver waiting around while he opened the box is total BS. Also, I have NEVER spent $25 on ANY size box from Airborne. That part about them charging you $25 is BS. Unless it is an international shipment (where they require special boxes and airbills) you can ship in ANY container you want. And Airborne provides the boxes AT NO CHARGE for international shipments.
I have shipped 3 items and received 1 so far this week and have another shipment ready to go tomorrow with Airborne. Your lies about the box charge has made you lose all credibility.

You need to post some real evidence that you actually shipped 3 animals and paid an outrageous fee for a box that you never used before anyone is going to believe that you are telling the truth.

I have shipped with Airborne Express for the past 4 years. The actual weight of the box does not mean that you will get charged a shipping fee for that particular weight. They go by SIZE of the box. If you have 5 lbs of stuff in a 12" cube box and 5 lbs. in a 20" cube box, the 20" will cost more. The have preset charges for certain size boxes. If a 12" cube box is their standard for a 10lb shipment and is $25 to ship it, then you will get charged $25 no matter if it is 1 or 10 lbs. If it is over 10lbs in a 12" cube box, then the charge goes up per lb. Confusing?...yep! Derek Roberts
 
Yeah thats what they do. I always end up calling and and having them adjust the weight because it usally doubles by the time it gets to my house but it does get alot cheaper when the weight goes down. Usally when you check AirborneX tracking when it is first shipped weight is Right but when it is delivered it seems to always get heavier! It gets frustrating but they always change it back no questions.

I went to the Airborne website and did a rate check on how much it would cost to send a 50 lb package from Pittsburgh, PA (where I am, to New York City. The total fee was a little more than $99


There was no mention on the site about the size of the box to be shipped, only weight.

I also just noticed what kingmike said......20 lbs for one turtle, 12 lbs for the second......and according to Nathan, 12 lbs for the packaging.....that totals 44 lbs. If you add the other 20 lb turtle, the total is 64 lbs. You yourself said that the total weight entered by Airborne was 65 lbs......I know the whole thing about standard shipping weights and all.....but hey.....

Now.....if there really were only 32 lbs of turtle....that would mean that the packaging would weigh 18-24 lbs to reach the 50-56 lbs mark.

Once again though....there is really no way to prove this situation in either case. Airbills were screwed up on both ends (according to the people involved) weights refuse to add up.....couch cushions are more than a relative science....I mean are we talking foam with a cotton cover, was there a cover.....my couch cushions are a heavy wool...yet are three wide on the couch, not heavy individually.

I'm affraid that this situation may never be solved using only he said, he said proof......unfortunately, it doesn't see mthat there may ever be substantial proof....
