• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

(I notified her last night...I only reposted the question because the OP didn't acknowledge it; and, if he so concerned with common courtesies, HE should have let her know he'd started the thread)
Whatever happened to trying to work out issues before posting them on the BOI?

Hello All and John William (J.W.) Connelly II (darkenism81),

This was done by text. After a few texts back and forth about the female
8:04pm on Friday October 5th. John texts me "well I think Im gonna get her should I paypal now?"
I had already given him my paypal address by text earlier that day at 3:54pm.
I respond to his text at 8:04 with "She is a character! You can paypal now. Do u want me to ship her Monday?"
Nothing comes in paypal.
9:29pm he texts me "yes sorry i was helping my sister get a tv at walmart...
I respond right back "Ok I can ship her Monday"
He responds sending paypal now...my name is J.w. Connelly...ill write the address in the paypal notes"

I had gotten several responses to the ad on Fauna via text, email and private message with Fauna about these dragons. I had 3 people that were going to send me money thru paypal and didn't. His money never came into paypal. I sold the pair the next afternoon to another buyer. John William Connelly II did not text me again until Tuesday, October 9th at 10:20am. He says "just checking to see if shes shipped" OK, are you kidding me! This is 73 hours later! He never confirmed payment! If he had, he would have had her on Tuesday morning. So on Tues morning he asks me to check my paypal and I do check it again. Nothing from the sellers paypal. He texts me that is shows it on his side as unclaimed. I text back right away "There is nothing my side of paypal", "I'm sorry, but I sold her with the male, they shipped yesterday". He responses "oh ok damn.....thanks anyway. I respond "thanks". I hear nothing else from him at all....no text, email, message, phone call. The next thing I know I have a post up on Bad Guy! Wow, ok

I dont contact previous people interested. I post a price, not an auction. I don't go back and forth between people about price or who is interested. I'm interested in selling my animal at the price posted to the best new home possible. If course I would wish for the smoothest transaction possible. If I dont get the money, i do move on. This is from selling animals on Fauna or other classified for a number of years, I don't chase people down.

Hear is a tip, check with the seller if they got your payment right after you send it!

This is what went wrong... I made a mistake when I texted him my paypal address. Yes, I sent him the wrong address by mistake. I'm human, it happens. If he would have asked me if I had recieved payment, then we could have resolved it and he would have had his dragon.

Thank you,
Nan Crippen

I don't think you're a "bad guy" due to this misunderstanding, but maybe you should have been the one to let him know you didn't get the payment after a while? It does seem like you made an agreement to sell the dragon to him, and he sent the money to the address you gave him. He didn't do anything wrong there. Sure, he could have just as easily checked to make sure you got the money, but he was the one who texted you last so it was your "turn" in the conversation. Just my 2 cents.

There aren't very many sellers that are going to chase down a buyer that doesn't pay after saying they would...it happens too often. More often than not, that email/text would go unanswered anyway. Sure, maybe this time would have been the exception; but people develop their practices based on their experiences...anybody that's been selling for any amount of time quickly learns that there are more tire kickers than actual buyers.
That said, I do think sellers should double check the information they send people. Careless mistakes can cause an awful lot of hard feelings.

sorry im late on my reply i have had a bad cold...i do have the screenshots, can still post them but not sure i need to, since nan crippen has already said their side(plus i dont want to post their phone number without photoshopping it to a black bar first...so as they said i sent it to the email, they just sent me the wrong email...i assumed it was correct and didnt double check.... you are right i will change my buying procedure and start double checking that payment made it through next time....

....like i said...i far as i knew all was good and shipping date was agreed on i sent payment to what i was told was the right address.....but technically they did get mixed up....so i would be willing to take this post down....is there a way to do that?
