In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

necessary or not, an apology nonetheless

sorry for the old jokes folks. ill keep that to a minimum if possible. although in good fun im sure that some of you dont appreciate it although only about 3 are the real targets. so, apologies.

Jokes are all fine and good, but the issue I had with many of them were that they are off-color (You're old, ugly, etc), and then it continues for several posts. It's simply pushing it too far.

We all know how Marcia is a mean old gecko lady. The difference being, when she talks about people being old and ugly and mean, most of the ribbing is directed towards herself and it's funny, not offensive....after all, how can a red-haired beauty with all those lovely geckos possibly be mean? That's just silly.

The problem I have is when Tom says "Man, you guys are ugly", with no mention of himself, all the ribbing is directed outward and can easily be mistaken as being something other than a joke. That normally wouldn't irritate me, but then you get to read the same thing a few more times despite people hinting it's not so funny anymore. It's only after people really get annoyed that he stops and says something along the lines of "Geez, I was just joking, sorry".

Part of this is you just showing your YOUNG age :raspberry . I wouldn't be afraid of making jokes...just try not to push it so far.

And that's all I have to say about that. I hope this post made some sense...I'm partially delirious from lack of sleep. :crazy03:

Ah, it's ok Tom. I know, when you are 15 years old, 30 or 40 seems like a lifetime away. You'll get there eventually, and I PROMISE you will like being 30 much more than being 15! All I ask is that you try and respect the other members' feelings, which is what we all should do. I also think it was nice of you to apologize, it takes a good person to do that in public. Kudos.

BTW, I deleted your post that quoted the lyrics. Frankly, the general tone and derogatory terms used in the post were offensive. Let's keep things clean from now on, shall we.

AMEN to that! Well, I haven't reached 30 yet, but I can say 26 is about a billion times better than 15 was.

30 might be a little crazy for me...I'll be dealing with the terrible threes around that time! :ack2:

Yes, thirties are fun! But I wouldn't mind being a kid again, like when work is overwellming and I just want the summer off. Man we had it made as kids, being a grown up suck sometimes. The only thing good is you can stay up as late as you want, watch R movies without having someone else buy your ticket for you...LOL, eat what you want, etc. The best thing about being an adult I would have to say is looking at all the things I've been able to accomplish so far. And the things that matter most, my kids and my family, my biggest accomplishments.

So, Tom, don't rush to grow up, enjoy being a kid while you can, it will be gone before you know it. Then some smart A$$ kid will be calling you old. :raspberry

Now, THAT is silly... especially the 'red-haired beauty' part! LOL!!!

ATTENTION: Only I have permission to call myself old, ugly, and mean. Others that do will understand the 'mean' part! (Unless they are older, uglier, and meaner than I am...)

I sure can't say the thirties are fun. heck I keep having dreams of the good old days from the 1970's
trust me on this, being 15 for me is the suck. id rather be a troop in iraq.

I'm always making jokes that I'm old, and I just hit 20! I can definatly feel it when I wake up, I'm not that bendy little kid anymore thats for sure.

Keep it clean and to a min, and I think people won't mind. If it makes people grit their teeth (like I did) when I read it, It's too much. I think your a bit uh "strong" with your words and a little bit self centered in the way you say them. Don't be like that, and you can joke with us all you want.

Just respect your elders. They are here to help you in your leo adventures. Don't get em on your bad side.

Judging solely on your comments, as I don't know you personally, especially the confidence you display with the "trust me on this" intro, you must have had a really rough 15 years........ :uzi:

Now please put down the crack pipe and step away from the keyboard as I fear more comments like the one I and others before me have quoted will land you in the dog house of more than a few people here. Part of growing up is knowing when to keep the mouth shut.

Another famous quote goes something like this: "It is far better to remain quiet and let people believe you are a fool than to speak and confirm their suspicions."

People that are dying in Iraq are sacrificing their lives and you are not yet old enough to take that responsibility or put on the uniform, so please don't disrespect those of us that have by making comments like that.

Nicely put.

Tom you are way to young to be thinking in the mannor that you are. You are young, enjoy it while you can. My uncle served as a Marine in the first Gulf War, came home fine, but became sick from what he was subjected to over there. He was pulled back in after retirement for that war. My father was an explosives expert in the Navy and has emphysema from working with the explosives and is on 90% disability. My husband was drafted (now that's old...heeheehee) into the Army, special forces sniper, and he won't talk about what he did, not that he can't but he's not proud of some of the things he had to do, and has never touched a gun since he got out. He was also shot while serving. Tom you are 15 years old, and these three men were only 3 years older than you when they were in the armed services. I don't know how any young man or woman of even the age of 18 can handle what goes on during war time. They lose their innocents, and for some their minds and others pay the ultimate price with their life. I'm not saying that serving in the military in any way is wrong, all who serve are heroes in my book. Understand that the wars we have fought in the past and the current war is not a joke, all that serve deserve utmost respect. They give up their life, not just the heart beat, but the life they once knew to fight for our freedom, to protect those who can't. It's a responsibility that they take on with honor, and not to be taken lightly.
