    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Built a bunch of feeder racks and my mice are getting out of the mesh I used. I used 1/2" mesh. I have looked around and can not find anything between that and 1/4" mesh which is too small for the mice to be able to feed from. Anyone know where I can order something that will work? Thinking a 3/8"

Thanks,

Actually 1/4" works fine with mice. I was in the same boat when I built my racks and didn't believe 1/4 was large enough but I've had the racks up for nearly 2 years and have had no issues. I'm not sure that you will be able to find 3/8 anymore unless it is a custom order and you buy in bulk.You'll find that most people use 1/4 for mice and 1/2 for rats at this point.

Agreed. 1/4" is fine for mice, and they can eat through it. I also used 1/4" for soft furs, because a hopper soft fur can go right through 1/2" mesh. (found out the hard way)

I also did some combo stuff, where I used 1/4" for the tops so no one could get out, but used 1/2" for the attached feeder hopper that was covered at the top fill opening. That worked fine as well.

I think I heard something somewhere about a 1/3" inch mesh, but can't personally vouch for it's use or availability.
