In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I'm trying to convince my boss to allow us to start a roach feeder colony. I'd like to try Blaptica dubia as our main feeders (mainly because they are easiest to contain). but he wants to know all the specifics on them and if I could show that roaches are better than feeders, I think I'd have a better argument for adding roaches to our feeder list. Anyone know of some sort of comparitive chart or site that has info on different feeders (including roaches)? Thanks

Some advantages to roaches are:
1) They don’t smell like crickets
2) A colony can easily be maintained
3) Will breed with little effort. You'll never run out of food.
4) Don't make noise.
5) Don't jump.

Here are some care sheets. I don’t have any for the dubia but their care is similar to the orange heads.

Non-climbers:
Orange head
Discoid

Climbers:
Lobster

they dont smell
they dont bite
they will eat enything you put in with them
they breed like crazy if kept at a high temp
they have a higher meat to shell ratio(lobsters mainly)
they are not as fatening(unless you use cody's gutload, HAHA)
they dont jump
they dont make any noise

Here's my caresheet on Blaptica dubia. link

You can try to look at comparisons, but I don't think your boss will understand how much better roaches are until he sees the kind of reaction the animals have. Shy feeders and stubborn feeders will literally go nuts once they get a taste.
