In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

need help please help me

i was told that if the feces of a leo is greenish theres something wrong. i would take it to the vet but im not sure wheres there is one and also because i dont have the money to spend on going to the vet. also i cant find one to go to. so thats why i come to u" who ever responds to this thread". i need your help to tell me whats wrong and what can i do. please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:( :(

Here goes some tough love . . .

. . . Here's the lecture - you shouldn't have a pet if you aren't willing or able to bring it to a vet when they need care. I'm sorry if this sounds harsh, but it needs to be said.

Look in the yellow pages and call around until you find a vet who has herp experience.

No one can tell you for sure if anything is wrong just over the internet.

If you won't bring him to the vet, I suppose you can just keep feeding/watering/caring as normal - separate him from the rest of your animals, and see what happens.

Again, sorry if this sounded harsh, but we have a responsibility to each other and our herping future to make sure we have the ability to properly care for our animal.

i know this thread is pretty old..but..

not only did he not take the geckos the the vet. he kept them together, AND bred them

Good lord.... If he bred them...

This is the point where I would normally go into a huge "personal responsibility" speech... but it seems that most of america doesn't really understand that concept lately, so my typing it would be futile. I really hate people sometimes...

The only one's getting hurt by this are the animals. The creatures that have NO control over the care you give them. Not only in this particular case (if it's true), but in every similiar post I see like this. That's why I avoid the KS leo forum more and more lately...

Would you buy a car if knew you couldn't afford new tires, or an oil change, or (enter some generic regularly changed auto part here)? Maintenence costs should ALWAYS be figured in when buying something... especially if that something relies on you for health and life.

Sorry if I'm ranting... posts like this tend to upset me.

Edit: looking at the name of the poster... he did breed something (he posted in the leo forum). Whether or not he bred the animal he discussed in this thread is another story. I would assume that if it was doing that poorly it wouldn't make it through breeding.

he im's me all the time talking about that female, or females, i was almost going to take it from him i felt so bad for it, i've told him to take it to a vet so many times but the same excuse comes up " i have no money for the vet"

and then i find out its laying eggs...not to mention..when i mentioned that female in the post in the leo forum..now the post magically dissapeared..

i wish i still had the pics he sent me of this gecko..he's also got a monitor with mouthrot..that he "cant takle to the vet cause he's got no money" yet he works in a pet store..but somhow cant seen to save up the money he makes to take him animals which he "loves" so much to the vet...amazing...

I actually reported that post to webslave. He was asking a question about orange toes... fine. But then tried to sell the animal in the same post, immediately after the whole membership thing. I just though he should have seperated the ad from the question.

Anyway... you know this person probably spends money on DVDs, computer equipment, or his car, or (insert some random non-essential expenditure here), when he should be buying vet care (hell, working for a pet store he may even get a discount at one- I know a store that refers customers to one or two vets in exchange for discounted vet care for employee's and the store's animals).

Perhaps a BOI post is in order on this guy (as an INFO post)? I didn't bother checking it yet (so don't flame me if there already is a thread!). I'll let someone with a little more evidence do any such posting however.

Also - Check out the guy's profile....
Interests:
collecting and or breeding leopard geckos, ball pythons, bearded dragons, savannah monitors, frilled dragons, orange head roaches, emperor scorpions
Occupation:
in school on my way to college and working at the local petshop!!!!
Biography:
i am puertorican palestinian and live in new york. im 17 and in my last yr of high school. i love life and want to live it to the fullest!

That's a lot of animals to afford purchasing to not be able to afford the vet trip. My advice: sell the beard dragons and use the money you save from not ordering thousands of crickets to give vet care for the rest. Although ideally I'd prefer to see people like this surrender all their animals until a time that they can afford proper care...
