    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I just got a new Greek tortoise for my birthday... we think his name is going to be Bob. I've done ridiculous amounts of research on how to care for him and I think I have pretty much everything figured out. He is in a 4x6 tortoise table that my fiance built for me, has UVA and UVB lights plus a basking area with a hot side in the upper 80's or 90's and a cool side near 75. Each day since I've had him I've made a huge salad of greens for him to eat. I've used green leaf lettuce, kale, turnip greens, collard greens, mustard greens, carrot, squash, tomatoes, mazuri tortoise diet and those yumyum things that are cactus flavored. Each day he has pushed everything else aside and only ate the tomatoes. He doesn't seem to care about grass either, only tomatoes! Any suggestions? Are tomatoes bad for him in large quantities? What should I do?

Hello

Hello,

I would only feed tomatoes occasionally. The have higher oxalates & will bind calcium absorption.
Have you tried some of the commercial pellets & or dry food mixed in with the veggies & greens yet? They tend to like that as well, plus, it is a good source of plant proteins & vitamins for them, too.
Do you have a picture of your Greek?
