    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Well I live in Wisconsin and I was out and about the yard and discovered a pile of snake eggs next to the fire pit and rather that letting them get destroyed I brought them inside and stuck them in the incubator. About 2 1/2-3 weeks later when I opened the box to candle the eggs, 13 little hatchlings tried to get out of the box.

First of all I have no idea what they are. Unfortunately when you google wisconsin snake species you really only get pictures of adults or older hatchlings. They hatched out a solid steel gray color with bronze undertones, white bellies and about 4 inches long. A few of them have opaque colored eyes so they will shed soon. Now they are about three days old and a faint speckled appearance is beginning to show on some of them. With some more heavily speckled than others.

Second I am not sure when they will want to eat and what to feed them. I raise mealworms and blatta but I'm not sure either of those will work. Pillbugs maybe? I heard most hatchlings eat after their first shed. Is this true?

Any information would be greatly appreciated :)

Pics would help a lot....
At 4 inches, and that color, I'm almost inclined to start the guessing with ringneck snakes; but I'm not sure about the white belly part (I don't remember them having a white belly, would have said yellowish)
There are some other possibilities, too.

Let's try this:

Wow thanks guys! That looks just like them :) I had a suspicion that they were green snakes when I found the eggs but when they hatched I wasn't so sure. Pics on google didn't help much either, all the babies were bright green :/
