Ok. so I have a friend with a ball python and I'm looking into adopting one myself. I've scoured these pages and online care sheets as well as asking the breeders at a recent repticon about specific snake needs.
my friend keeps the snakes in sterilite tubs with belly heat, and the breeders tell me that belly heat is all that is really required since ball pythons don't have any real specific light requirements. research tells me they spend most of their time underground in nature...
i see that there is need for a 'cool end' and a 'warm end' of the set up. but my question is, how does the ambient temp stay at required temperatures if all you have is belly heat? or rather, is it ok if the ambient temps are not held if there is sufficient belly heat.
