In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

need some info please

Hi my name is Rick, and just purchased 2 MT Horned Tree Dragons for my 2 sons.
They were purchased on Friday, and one of them was sick already and passed away on Sat. The other one (sparky is his name) is spunky and loves everybody. The pet store has already ordered a new one for the one that passed away.
The reason for joining this group for for help with raising, feeding, etc.....
I have read alot on the internet and most sites state NOT to bye them from a pet store cause they are usually sick and stressed from the trip and usually die.
Two questions:
First, going to the bathroom. How long is their bowel movements?? meaning how long does it take to see them go cause it's been 4 days and see nothing yet and sparky eats like a horse (i feed him everyday about 4-6 crikets) this is a concern for me cause of how much he eats.
Second, Is there stuff i can get otc for thedragons (sparky and the new one coming on wed) like for parasite or sickness etc..........

I'm sorry for sounding stupid but new with the mt horned tree dragons and they are so cute and my kids love them.
Also my habitat consist of a 45 gal tank (for 2 of them) a big piece of drift wood with 4-5 branches, a fake pc of driftwood with fake plants, hanging fake plant for climbing, a large waterbowl with a air stone to make the water move( sparky drinks from it quite well) topical bark on bottom, a UVB lid/light with 2 5.0 bulbs, and a basking heat lamp (yes i know that they don't require thise but it get chilly here sometimes)

I would love feedback and help with what experts think and thank you for letting me join your group and again t.y.

Rick

This is a great link for MHD's.

Also 2 people on here are super knowledgable about them. They helped us more than any vet ever could have... except for actually obtaining the fecal and meds. We got our MHD at a show... she lasted about 6 months. VERY laden with parasites.

They don't poop everyday. Is you MHD eating? if so... eventually it will poop. Then get it checked out by a vet. I'm sure you'll need to treat them.

MHD's need Running water. They rarely drink from a stationary water source. We got a "little dripper" which was ok, cheap, but needed a lot of dinking with to get the setting right. Eventually we got a waterfall. Nice and helps keep the humidity up.

Good luck... also the ladies that know tons about MHD's will show up if you start a post with that in the title for sure.

Hello

Hello,

Oh, sorry you are having trouble with your MHD's. The problem is that most of them that you purchase are going to be wild caught which poses a problem of stress, parasites, etc. Normally, a large percentage of them just don't make it going from wild caught to captive keeping.
The main thing right now is hydration. Have you gotten a good watering system set up for him or her yet? As suggested, that is very important.
We can advise on feeding if he or she is not feeding on his own.

Tracie
