In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I got some new leos and they are all kept seperately. They all but one have decided to use their hot hide as their bathroom. I need some advise on getting them to move that area. I have taken out all the hides but the hot and humid wich are on the same side because I used to have more hides in there. They still poop in the hot hide. I tried moveing the little terds to the other side but that hasnt worked either. One guy moved to pooping on top of his humid hide. Makes cleaning a lot more time consumeing. I have had them for a couple months now. I cleaned their cage and used a couple drops of bleach with a lot of water still same thing. Now I am putting little tiles under their hot hides and hopefully moveing the tile after they terded on it and stunk it up might get them to move the spot. I am concerned about haveing them hang out in the hide and its their bathroom.

Lots of leos consistently use a hot hide, or at least the hot side, for the toilet. So long as they are healthy, and you don't slack on the upkeep, I wouldn't worry too much about them doing it in the hide. You may want to switch them to a hot hide that is easier to clean, like tupperware. You certainly try the tile idea, and that prob would work to move from cold side to hot, but I doubt it will work as well the other way. I have one girl who has always only pood in her hot hide.

I wonder if they're always pooping on one side, what if you lay a piece of screen under the sand on that side, that way, you pick up the screen, and it filters out the poo.

I don't keep leos, but it seems like it might work.

I dont use sand because I think its not good for them. The tile trick is not working. I have only been able to get one to move its spot. One guy poops on top of her humid hide so I am putting the enterence to her humid hide on top and hopefully that will move her. Not haveing much luck. I just put some paper towel or extra scraps of cage liner on their poop spot to make it easier to clean up.

Unfortunately, I think that might be the best you can do. I use tupperware for most hides, esp the ones who poo in/on them. Very easy to clean, and if you line the bottom of the tupperware with paper towel, you just dump out the old one and replace. Course you do have to wash the lids when they poo on top. The other option is to switch the hot/cool sides, but if the problem you're having is the hides, that wont help.
