In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Need your opinions on my set up please....

Here is the set up that I've put together for my choice of snakes. I have own redtail boas in the past. This is what I've set up for a brazilian rainbow boa. I'm thinking of ordering two of them actually.Has anyone out there had more than one in tank together? I found a breeder who has some nice looking babies. I know that I still need to put a water bowl in there. But just as it sits I get temps in the 76 to 78 range and a humidity of about 80%-85%. I will be adding a reptile fogger to raise the humidity. So being that this is a larger tank ( 54 gal. ) my question is this. Do you think that a large tank will stress out a young snake? Do you think that it would be alright with keeping them in there because of the heavy foliage and hides in the lower corners? Or should I start them out in a smaller tank..like a 20 high. I'm using what I have and one day soon I'll have a actual reptile enclosure like a vision cage or something close to it.

Hey Rich, the tank looks great! but just remember that the more intricate the tank set up, the harder it will be to clean! It looks good otherwise though. good luck!

Looks good! If your worried about the size and them stressing out, use more hides. You take up a lot of space and they have a choice.

And you don't need a fogger. Brbs are fine at the hydro you have the tank at. As for housing them both in there, if you pay attention to who's shedding and pooping, you can house them both in there.

Congrats on deciding the get a Brazilian Rainbow! I've got 21 of them so far, wonderful animals.

In answer to your questions (and mostly confirming prior posters):

Yes, you can house two together -- I've done so before. In fact, there was a post on another forum not too long back about someone who to this day keeps four rainbows in one (very ornate) tank. Just be careful to note whose shed and poop is whose, as if anything goes wrong that information will be crucial.

Your water bowl should be large enough for the animal(s) to soak in, as Brazilians *love* water. They will also frequently poop in the water bowl, so check it at least every other day.

Your temps and humidity are fine. No fogger is needed -- just throw in a moist hide or two for safety and you should be all set.

Yes, you can safely house a baby in that setup. While small snakes can stress in larger tanks, so long as they have something to wedge into and press up against (like a hide!) so they feel "safe," they should be fine.

Finally, as noted by several: your setup looks great, but cleaning will be *tough*

Best of luck to you,

Oh, and if you do not switch to an actual reptile tank by winter, you may want to consider adding insulation around the glass. Aquariums do not have a good rep in rainbow boa circles for holding temps well....

All the best,
