In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I just started trying to make a new web site. I really not sure of what I am doing so I wanted to get some feedback before I got to much further along. The basic layout is there but it is not finished yet. The link is G & M Geckos

Thank you for your help, Glenn

Glenn, the only suggestion I have right now is for the breeders page. I have to scroll way to the right. I would either make the current pics in a thumbnail, with popups or links to bigger pics. You could also leave them the same size but only put one or two across instead of 3. I lazy and that is a lot of scrolling for my taste. LOL Otherwise you have a great start.

I agree with Jeremy, I personally like to open a page and be able to see everything rather than futz with scrolling. Try making the pics smaller or in thumbnails. Or if you want them that size put them only 1 across. It may make the page longer, but its better than having to scroll to the side in my opinion.

Also if you can try to get some pics of your leos in sunlight. Or use a fill flash. I noticed your pictures tend to have an orange tinge to them which makes them look like your taking them under a low light.

Other than that it is really easy to move around the site on, and i think your off to a great start!

I agree with the pictures being to large. I am already in the process of trying to figure out how to make them smaller thumbnails you can click on to enlarge. Thanks for the feed back guys keep it coming. I am also going to try and get some better pictures too. I talk with and friend of mine about doing some really cool Marco shots because I don't have the camera to do it.

I like the color scheme. It's easy to read yet different enough from anyone else. Just to beat a dead horse, photos must be smaller. Horizontal Scrolling is NEVER a good thing.

Depending on your screen resolution, you can see what most people view when visiting your site by navigating to your site, and then entering 'javascript: resizeTo(1024,768)' in the address window. This will make your window shrink to the resolution that most people browse with, and you can get a nifty little preview of what they will see (and how scrolling is set up, ect). Although most people are using 1024x768, you should really design for 800x600, so you'd use 'javascript: resizeTo(800,600)' to get a preview for that. That means your page should fit within 745 pixels wide to ensure no scrolling. People with widescreen monitors may see more blank space, but that's ok, and people with stuff on the side of their screen may get cut off a little, so smaller wouldn't hurt either.

Hope that helps with sizing anyway. Nice start on the site.

In the Links page, under Fauna you said to be sure to check the "Bio" page before buying from anyone....lol.

THANK YOU SHANTI! I probally wouldn't caught that for god knows how long! :)

I have fixed the size of pictures now. It took me like two hours to figure it out.

Next pictures from outside and more pictures of breeders that I haven't got uploaded yet.

Thank You everyone that as gave me feedback and help so far!

Now, all you have to do is add green streaks in the purple banner, and it will be perfect (My second favorite color is Green, not a light green, but, like Hunter Green) :>poke2<:
